I'm getting bombarded with trade offers for Moss. After week one, I was seriously considering trading him, but after week 2 I'm not sure I want to anymore. It looks like he's going to put up great numbers all year. He's looking like a top 5 WR again.

What kind of offers are you getting for him and what would you trade him for? The latest offer I received was H. Ward and Rudi for R. Moss and A. Green.

Just trying to get a feel for what his value is right now. I don't want to sell him too cheap.

I wouldn't move him at this point unless I was overwhelmed or had a serious RB need. He looks to be a top 5 lock at this point.

I don't own him, but I would definitely want more than Ward and Rudi for him especially when you include A. Green.

:coffee: I hear ya. I'm 2-0 and in the pts lead by 15 pts... which makes it tough to move him right now. I am hesitant to trade him, but I'd like to see what everyone else is getting, so that I can better guage what I should be getting.

I don't want this to turn into a should I take this trade post, but my RB2s are a little thin (Deuce, A. Green, D. Ward, K. Jones, Foster). Decent starts but nothing great.

That's pretty thin but help may be on the way with KJ. It would also depend on your other wr's or who you would get back. Long story short it would be tough for me to trade the homerun of FF so far.
 
I've got him right now. I am trying to package Moss and some others for Frank Gore. I guess I can't see trading him for anybody but a top talent right now. Of course in this league I also have Steve Smith and Reggie Wayen so Moss is my WR2/3.

But the more I look at it, I am just going to wait for an owner to panic and sell me the house for him. If not, I'll keep accumulating wins. If I can ever quit playing the top team in our double headers I'll go 2-0 per week with him.

 
Yea go hrab hines ward and go from 20+ points per week to 10 points per week. Why would you sell the best WR in fantasy this year. Steve Smith or not, he is the reason the pats are dominant.

Dink, Dunk, Dink, Dunk, Moss for 40 and a TD, and repeat. They showed you this gameplan against a hated divison rival and team who will compete with them for a super bowl birth...why would anything change?

If you think he is going to suffer an injury this year, by all means sell high. But i wouldnt count on it.

his value is so high right now, people should know better. theyll probably flood you with offers once he has a down game.
 
I just missed Moss by two picks and would love to have him (as a Pats fan); however, his value is too high. If I (or others) were thinking, the time to offer was before week 1. (Owner in our league starting Anthony Gonzalez over Moss Week 1, just to give you an idea of preseason thinking of Moss owners.)

Now his value is too high. I have Steve Smith, and the only way to get Moss would likely involve a trade with SS, something I'm just not willing to do.

My guess as others have said is you'll have to give up a top talent at some position for him.

 
I was attempting to trade Moss to everyone over the offseason, but I too have not received a single email offer since this season began.

 
In a keep 4 league I traded Moss for Gates right before our draft. I just re-acquired Moss and Delhomme for Ced Benson and Colston.

 
I'd trade him right now. His value will never be higher than it is now.

No one is ever as good as they look and no one is ever as bad as they look.

I'd trade him for someone like Bush who is struggling but will turn it around...

I was doing the same, coulda got him for next to nothing before the draft day trade. preseason I offered moss, jordan and watson for basically tory holt and some junk and was shot down thank god...I have been offered coles and mcallister for him, lee evans straight up, and a couple other junk offers.I still do kinda want to move him sometime, if I knew for sure he was back with the pats next year I wouldn't, I think hes playing for another big payday at the moment.

He's catching well over 90% of the balls thrown his way. I see no reason he won't be an absolute monster this year but he won't continue catching passes at that rate.

 
i haven't even pondered what it would take to get him.

they guy that owns him in my main league drafted him early last season and, after a miserable season for his entire team, he had to "settle" for moss again as one of his keepers. you'd have to rip randy out of his cold, dead hands now.

as far as his value, i've always had serious doubts that any tom brady WR could be a true weekly stud, but i'm drinking the kool-aid. brady looks like a kid in a candy store and the nfl is just a better place with randy is getting his. there is no season ending WR ranking for randy that would surprise me.

 
I've been a major Moss hater on these boards for the past few years. I was totally convinced that he was done as a productive #1 fantasy WR. I my advice was to avoid him like the plague unless he fell into the 5th or 6th round.

Sure enough I'm 0-2 with DJax, Fitz, S. Moss & CJ2.

If I had a hat I'd eat it.

I think the issue with Moss over the past few years was motivation. He looks as motivated as ever now that he has a chance to win again.

owner countered for Driver, Rudi, Chargers D for R. Moss, A. Green, Eagles D.

He must really want him...and those are basically the best guys on his roster (Rudi, Driver) He has Brady and wants the QB/WR combo.

Without knowing your roster makeup or scoring system, I still don't think you are getting enough for Moss here.
 
Ha, I offered Reggie Bush straight up for Moss today and got shot down.

Moss' value seems to have crept back into the solid WR1 range. He's looking like the SOD this year.

Can't blame you, but I'm sticking with him for a while unless someone gives me what I deem to be fair value (and BTW, Galloway wouldn't do it - not at this point). Bush is just too good. But he sits on my bench until f'n Payton remembers how to use him again... i.e. pound McCallister and use Reggie as a slot WR/3rd down RB. Right now, Bush is being misused by Payton, who has been trying to force feed the kid in games so far. Pound Deuce, unleash Bush.Of course, having Westbrook and the good fortune to land AP late allows me to be patient than most Bush owners.But back to Moss... SOD.

after getting boo'd when I took him in the 4th - the ego's in my league are not saying anything about Moss, or even attempting to get him from me..... too funny. Moss draft story - draft night, we're outside on a deck - my pick comes up in the 4th and I'm not sure at all who I'll take at this point. Wavering between a QB (MacNabb was on my list) and RB (Jacobs)....then thunder showers start....we move the board to the garage and a 15 minute delay. Meantime I'm scowering the mag and my notes for an answer for my 4th. I'd gone Henry, MJD and Fitz so far....I do a shot of Jaegermiester and suddenly Moss hits the brain....ding. Rest is history.

I would have strongly considered that trade, by the way, I have Moss and have yet to receive away offers (Dynasty League)
 
What RBs are we talking here for good value?

I personally thought Rudi Johnson was a decent offer, but most guys here are saying isn't enough.

Top 5 RB?

Interesting--I was looking at offering Colston and Gates for Moss and Gonzo in my league. The team with Moss has got good receivers backing him up (Harrison and Roy Williams--and of course Colston is no slouch), and I still have Witten to play in what looks like a good year. hate to give Gates up--and somehow I suspect that the trade won't be accepted as this team doesn't trade often--but I'm another who had targeted moss to go with Brady and missed by only two picks. :unsure:

The fact that so far those running backs have poorly makes things less clear and the trading process much more difficult. Is it worth it to trade Randy Moss+ in exchange for Steven Jackson, Larry Johnson or I have to say it LaDainian Tomlinson? You would think that those players will play better but so far that hasn't been the case. You probably wouldn't trade Moss for any of this season top 5 rbs (Jordan,Peterson, maybe Henry) It's a tough situation all around. All in all the only players who I'd think about trading Moss for are LT, Joseph Addai, Willie Parker, Frank Gore, Travis Henry, Steve Smith, Antonio Gates (though it would take a lot more also).

Obviously trading can be a lot more complicated then that but I think any trade where you're giving up a player of Moss ability and stats and not acquiring at least one of the players I mentioned is a trade in which you lose out imo.

I own Moss in my main money league. Most of my league ridiculed my pick of Moss (hell to be honest, I wasn't super high on him either, but he was still there in the 6th round so I had to take him) and NOT one of them has offered a trade for him, despite the fact that quite a few people have WR issues.

I asked the Andre Johnson owner what he would give up to get Moss, and he said he didn't want him. From my experience, people are either scared off by his high value or still doubting that it will continue throughout the year.

 
Personally I think Moss is untradable. Unless you get a crazy offer that involves LT, Gore, S. Smith, or SJax - I would not trade him.

I think owners that don't have Moss view him like a fragile work of art. He is great right now but he can break down at any given moment. He sorta reminds me of T. Owens when he was in Philly. Awesome if he plays but he could blow up and get kicked off the team any given week.

Owners that have Moss probably think he has returned to elite status / difference maker.

I just don't see owners anteing up to get him.

I own Moss and I am going to enjoy the ride.

I just got Moss and Cutler. It cost me a sixth round pick next year in a keep 3 league, McNabb and Colston. I had an extra sixth so I didn't mind losing it. I got S.Smith as my other WR so I am pretty happy with the trade. I think trading McNabb though is going to come back and haunt me midway through the season. I know he isn't as bad as we seen on MNF.

 
After thinking this over, I'm going to deal Moss (who's value is as high as it will probably be) in a deal for Rudi Johnson and Donald Driver.

I'm giving R. Moss and A. Green for Rudi and Driver.

I like Moss to end the year around 1300 yds and 13 tds, which will land him top 3. But, even at that rate, if Driver and Rudi (who are freakishly consistent) perform like they have the last 3 years, and A. Green doesn't lite the world on fire (I have him at 1120 rush 7 td 245 rec 1td), then I still come out ahead by 20 pts on the year.

I suppose Moss's upside is higher than the 1300 and 13 tds (I'm sure he's on pace for well over that) but I think he comes down to earth a little bit. Green is my best RB2 right now, and I'm looking for a little more consistency there. I have Henry at RB1.

I'll keep track of this and see how it looks at year's end.

Feel free to tell me I'm an idiot...I'm halfway there myself.

I think you're giving up too much with Ahman Green in there.

Anyway, after week 1, I traded Moss along with Deangelo Williams for Willie Parker in a 12 teamer. I'm very happy with that trade.

Great move if you wanna finish in 3rd place, I think. At this current level of production, Moss can single handedly win a week for you. Rudi and Driver are consistent, but not as explosive as Moss can be. Those are the kinds of players that win championships. Rudi and Driver will get you to the playoffs.P.S.--And I LOVE Driver and think he's one of the most underrated WR's in fantasy football. I think he's a legit #1 and I usually get to have him as my #2. My point above is more about giving up on Moss than knocking on Driver, FWIW.
