wait wait wait. so bump MJD because Jennings is done for the year?

Im off the MJD wagon, his wheels are just about off.

good luck to those of you who grabbed him at "value"

For those who don't listen to MJD's fantasy football show on Sirius/XM, he's been pounding home a point all summer for everyone who doubts him. Just about every day, he tells a caller "I had over 1,600 total yards last year playing on ONE LEG! I was not healthy all season long. I am telling you right now that I am 100% and you will regret it if you don't draft me."

He got those 1,600+ yards in 14 games, BTW.

Maybe he sucked me in, but I'm a believer. At his size, he's had to prove himself every step of the way.

MJD with a chip on his shoulder = BAD THINGS, MAN!

:hifive:
In fairness all last offseason he said he was fully healthy and fine, even taking offense that people would question that he was injured. Why is what he says now any different?

As a 2010-MJD-owner who listened to MJD tell us all he was 100% from the moment rumors came up about knee problems last August only to find out it was bone-on-bone, I put ZERO stock in anything MJD says about his level of health, especially when he, himself, was telling us a month ago that he was only 80%. On top of that, while I realize he got a decent amount of goal line work last year, it SEEMED like the coaches pulled MJD every time they got inside the 15, at least for a few plays, resulting in Lewis catching 10TDs and Jennings having 1 less rushing TD than MJD, despite nearly 1/4 the carries. The fact that we've seen this time and time again the year after a back has a huge increase in touches ( after Fragile Fred left ), has me worried. I'd be willing to bet that the team philosophy going into this season was to get MJD less touches and hope for higher efficiency. If the Jennings injury results in touches, I'd be worried that the increased workload will result in an exponentially higher chance of injury. It was admirable what he did last year, but surgery never makes the body BETTER than it was before.Still, I'd project a very slight bump unless Karim comes out and sets the world on fire with his increased opportunity, which he'll surely have, now. Either way, my guess is they try to spread Jennings' touches among whomever is left on the RB-bench.
this is better than mine, :goodposting:

Joe Bryant knows football ...

========================

The Jacksonville Jaguars will place RB Rashad Jennings (knee) on season-ending Injured Reserve. He suffered a knee injury two weeks ago against the Buffalo Bills and was on crutches a week ago. The Jaguars may seek an every-down back as a potential backup to starter Maurice Jones-Drew on the free-agent market or through waivers.

Deji Karim is the guy right now that will try to fill Jennings' role. He's a guy to grab if you're interested in the MJD handcuff. Karim is a bowling ball shaped runner like MJD, and he excelled vs. Buffalo last year when Jennings was out. He'll get at least a little more opportunity than a typical backup RB because of the Jaguars concerns about MJD's knee, but make no mistake, this is good news for MJD owners. We'll see how much of the plan to ease back MJD's workload was about his condition, and how much was about how Jennings performed as he came on last year.

Guess we'll see. But I don't put too much stock in any one man's opinion. MJD may be fine this year, but I was very frustrated owning him last year. He still has issues with his knees and I wasn't taking him early in any league. I passed on him for Hillis in the 3rd in one league. Again, he may be fine, but I didn't want to trust him this year. Degenerative knee conditions don't magically get better. He may have bought some time and regained some youth with surgery, but I don't believe it. I've grabbed Karim in all of my leagues. He's cheap and IMO could take off if/when MJD goes down again.

From Rotoworld:

Deji Karim - RB - Jaguars

Coach Jack Del Rio still feels "great" about his backfield after losing Rashad Jennings for the season.

Del Rio talked up bigger roles for fullbacks Montell Owens and Brock Bolen, but most of Jennings' responsibilities will fall on Deji Karim. "Deji in particular has been very explosive this preseason," said Del Rio. "He's got some real quicks, he's got great vision and he’s been improved in all facets of his game. And the thing that stands out is the explosive element that he brings." Karim is worth adding this week as a roster stash in standard-sized leagues.

mjd had 36 attempts inside the 15 last year. jennings had 10. deji had 2. qbs had 8 rushes. there were 42 targets, 12 went to msw, 12 to marcedes, 2 to mjd.inside the 5, mjd had 11 and jennings had 3. garrad had 3 rushes. there were 16 targets, 7 to msw, 4 to marcedes, 1 to mjd.
it SEEMED like the coaches pulled MJD every time they got inside the 15
but they didnt.

The sad thing is that Gene Smith said Jennings could be ready to play by week 8-9 but they didn't want to waste the roster spot for that long. The NFL needs a half season IR or something similar.

Thanks for bumping a thread that says Rashad Jennings is out for the season to the top page...very intelligent.

No link and I googled Rashad Jennings injury and saw no news stories on this....

I did find this, however:

Jaguars get decen injury news

This thread topic should be changed to RUMOR.

Edit: Oh, nice. A bump of last year's thread.....I see what you did there.
