Rat Pack Style (1 Viewer)

Going to a birthday party in a couple of weeks for a good friend who is having a Rat Pack themed birthday party. I've been told: black suit, skinny tie, white shirt, fedora. 

Ok, fine. Sounds simple enough. It's not simple enough. 

I'm not going the thrift store route and I'm not spending a ton of money on a new suit. So has anyone had any good luck with any of the cheaper retailers with suits? I'm thinking the Jos A Bank's of the world. Also, what other places might fit into that category? 

Is the skinny tie enough to give this the vintage look? Any tips, suggestions?

Yeah, that's actually where I'm getting the suits for my wedding. I just don't have enough time. They have good stuff, though. I was impressed.

Was that an actual thing in the 60s? And I don't mean the bowling shirt. I mean the 'Rat Pack' bowling shirt? I think about the only place I'd ever wear a bowling shirt would be to a Big Lewbowski party. God those are awful.

Bowling shirts were absolutely 1950s-early 60s. The Rat Pack graphic is not realistic of course.

Tell me about it. I'm not thrilled about a party that's requiring me to wear a suit in Texas in August.
