I have been surfing through Raven message boards and nobody seems to want to give this kid a shot. He played pretty well for a rookie the last few games of last season. What has he done to eliminate himself from Baltimore's QB of the future? It seems like it would be more beneficial to build other areas (due to a QB weak class IMO - NO ELITE PROSPECTS IMO) than to take a QB on the first day. Just curious why he is not getting more fan banner.

Well, he's a little small and a little scatterarmed. He played better than I expected last year but the team was playing out the string when he got his chance and it felt like more of an audition than a performance in a meaningful situation.

There's a chance, IMO, that he plays a lot more this year, especially if they don't grab Ryan Saturday -- and I think this is a LOT more likely than others do. I don't think they'll trade up to get him and I could even see them pass him up at the 8 spot. They've got lots of other needs (OL, CB) and I'm not as sure as some that they see Ryan as the franchise savior.

If my scenario is right, then Boller inevitably bogs down and Troy gets his opportunity. Hey, maybe Harbaugh shows some creativity, draws up some plays that take advantage of his athleticism and we're all pleasantly surprised.
