Ray Rice, buy low? (1 Viewer)

Ray Ray isn't having a terrible season by any means but a lot of owners may be skeptical of his first 2 games so far into the season. Are Ray Rice owners panicking at all? I feel that the Ravens are throwing more and this is leading to Rice getting a limited number of touches, I think this week vs Cleve. Baltimore gets back to their identity and runs the ball, meaning big numbers for Rice. Has anyone bought low on this guy? If so, what did you give up?

was just traded in my 12 team non-ppr league

Colston/McFadden/Tomlinson

for

Rice/Walter

Don't know if thats buying low.........but it gives you an idea of what he's going for.

I am considering trading Best and maybe a WR for Rice but not completely sold on Rice myself.

I tried the following w/ an owner w/ great RB depth & is counting on Carson Palmer as his weekly QB:

I give Aaron Rodgers & Jeremy Maclin

He gives Ray Rice & Colston

He told me to pound sand....

You may have been asking for a bit much.

As a Rice owner I'm not worried about him and I'm not going to be moving him. Rice had two tough games against tough defenses. I'll start to worry if he doesn't turn it up this week against the Browns. Jim Harbaugh stated intentions of getting him more work going forward starting this week.

Oh, I know, but that's the whole point of buying low, right? Other owner wasn't willing, which was a smart move on his part. I had to try though.

I'll tell you one thing, I have a lot more confidence in his prospects from here on out than MJD. Ray Rice is a buy low while MJD might not be able to be had for what he's worth (less than an MJD owner would be willing to admit). I don't own either and that's my take FWIW.

does anyone have the stats for goalline opportunities (rice vs. mcgahee). IIRC, McGahee had ~12 short yardage TDs last year and got one opportunity in week 1 (which he converted) after flacco couldn't connect with Rice on the 5 yard line on a couple of short screens or dump offs. i'm thinking of trading FOR mcgahee to complement rice to be a good bye week/flex filler. rice's stock rises now that these two tough defenses are behind him, but so too does mcgahee's

I can't imagine many Rice owners are jumping ship already.

Offered Romo & Bradshaw in a 2QB league and was quickly denied.

I own Rice in a few leagues and wouldn't even consider selling him. Not even for 2 Jahvid Bests. I imagine most Rice owners are thinking along the same lines as I am.

I sent the Rice owner in our league an email asking if he had any interest in shopping him. He sent me back in email in 72pt font saying: NO

Not sure how low buying low is, but he's totally a guy to get. The Jets and Bengals are two of the best defenses in the league. The Ravens do have a tough schedule (2 Steelers games and another Bengals coming up) but he'll definitely is at the lowest point of his season right now. The only real concern is if they are inclined to go away from him at the goal line.

Got him in one of my leagues. Not worried, NYJ are stout up front and I wasn't expecting him to break out or anything. Bengals are also not bad on D. I play PPR so he is gold from the RB position for me once he starts getting going and they play some easier teams. I would never trade a first round pick after two games of sub par performance unless the deal was for something ridiculous that you can't pass up. The trade above that he went for McFadden, Colston, and LT is ridiculous. Wouldn't think twice about denying that.

I did not do quite as good, but I just traded for Rice.

Larry Fitzgerald

Jason Witten

Marion Barber

for

Ray Rice

Santana Moss

Kellen Winslow...

Rice is going to turn it around...

u might have done even better. i really wish the rice owner in my league wasnt the type of person too scared to make deals for fear he will look dumb after seeing these.

Tried to move Best for him. Denied
Funny, and I know I should not put any stock into Yahoo projections but they call Best for Rice a loser for the Best owner throughout the year. Why can I not bring myself to make this offer? I know offering Best for Rice is the right thing to do, but after seeing this kid run I can't bear to part with him.

This is an absolute steal. Huge upgrade at RB and slight upgrade at TE for not even a big downgrade at WR, possibly an upgrade

Just sent out Mendenhall/Shiancoe for Rice. Here's to hoping.

edit: Yesterday I traded Boldin/Brandon Jackson for Randy Moss, so I need some rebound games this week.

Against 2 much better defenses (NYJ and Cincy) in 2010 ( through week 2), he has about 4-5 points less (in PPR) than he did in 2009 against 2 much worst defenses (KC and SD).

It's too early, and even if it wasn't, his performance when compared to 2009 (at the same point) is pretty close.

I haven't even thought about selling Rice at this point. I'm actually encouraged by the number of touches he's getting and he finally has a nice match-up this weekend. Touchdowns are always going to be hit or miss for Rice - and I don't think anyone expected him to score 15 this season - but thus far I haven't seen any indication that I should not have invested heavily in him. I expect Flacco and the offense to improve as a whole and Rice will start to capitalize.

I just offered Best + Cutler for Rice + Gates. He has Rice and MJD but is hurting at QB (only has Favre and Palmer). He also has Shiancoe on his bench...

Crossing fingers...

he could not make a trade with the guy that has Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers?

The rice owner in my league has offered him to me for WR help. I have AJohnson, SSmith (CAR), SMoss, MWilliams(TB),MThomas...

May try to low-ball, since they came to me. But, I would give AJ for Rice.
