Ray Rice is underperforming his ADP (1 Viewer)

In a 2 QB league I still like Flacco and obviously still love Rice. They've played 2 pretty solid defenses so far. Flacco and Rice will pick it up this week, then they have to play Pitt and probably struggle. After that things will get easier and Flacco will have some nice games and Rice some monster games. I think the shark move for Jahvid Best/Arian Foster owners is to dangle those guys and go after Rice either now or after the Pitt game week 4.
Im not very worried about Flacco or Rice, they had two road games 6 days apart against two VERY good defenses. My problem with Rice is he was overrated before the season started. Part of the reason though was lack of better options. When it comes to spending a top 5 pick on a RB, getting the goalline touches is a must. I would trade Foster for Rice if i could, but not Best, that kid is the real deal.
Just curious to how Rice was overated? He was a top 3 RB last year and is a beast of a player. Also making claims any player is the real deal after the player has played in a grand total of 2 NFL games is laughable. Think about it.
How many games do you need to see before you recognize a players is talented? Rice has had one good season, at what point did you realize he was a top 5 RB? I thought Rice was overrated going into the season because he was considered a no brainer top 4 pick. I like Rice, but he made up for his lack of TD's last year with a huge amount of receptions. I just didnt see him repeating his reception total from last year, and simce he is still not seeing goalline touches, it is going to be very tough for him to live up to his top 4 RB status.Dont get me wrong, i still like Rice, especially in PPR, but i am just not as high on him as most. I do think he will have a good game against the Browns this week, but he is limited because he will not be scoring short TD's.

Seriously, if you drafted Rice in the top 4 in a non-ppr league, you bought hook, line, sinker into the "willis M. is not that talented, so Rice is gonna get those TD's he lost last year BACK" theory? I don't think that's happening any time soon.
Why would Rice have to get those TDs back? He was a top 4 RB last year without them. The TDs are just gravy (and they always follow the yards, anyway).

Alot of things went right for Rice last year to be a top 5 back while only scoring 7 TD's. I dont see him doing it again....unless he scores more TD's.

Minor nit: he scored 8 TDs, not 7. Either way, what were those things that had to go right? And why couldn't they go right again?Even if his YFS numbers regress to 1800 this season, 1800/8 would have ranked Rice 6th, 7th, 6th, 8th, 7th, and 8th over the last 6 seasons. And, as I said, TDs have a habit of following the yards over time. If I draft an RB 4th and he finishes 8th or better, I consider that a pretty solid draft pick.

Also, he didn't get any goal line looks in the first 4 weeks last season. They got away from the McGahee poop sandwich towards mid season last year and will probably follow a similar pattern. Their real problem right now isn't rice ... it is the regression of Joe Flacco

Or maybe that they've played two of the best defenses in the league.

You can read the game recap tomorrow but here is a sneak peek at what I wrote after watching the game

Ray Rice –Rice was given the 1st 3 touches of the football game. He would only get another 13 carries the rest of the way. Rice looked very good. In the middle of the 2nd quarter Baltimore went back to Rice and he was doing what I call the pop n bounce off would be tacklers. The Ravens would have been wise to stick with Rice throughout the game. He would have had a mediocre day and might have still in non PPR leagues but in leagues that were PPR, Rice managed about 15 points and owners cannot be too sore about it. Flacco turning the ball over did not help matters. Rice was 11 for 78 yds on 1st and 10 for the whole game. The Ravens need to trust in Rice some of the time and today would have been an especially good time.
Nice fantasy writeup, and I don't mean to be overly critical, but the coaching staff was probably more worried about getting Flacco more involved in the passing game. I doubt that they were worried about how it affected Rice's stat line. or to borrow a phrase from former Jets Head Coach Herm Edwards, "You Play.....To WIN.....The GAME!!"
I can't put the whole recap up but Flacco owners are not going to be sending me too many Chrstmas cards because I lit him up this week. That guy took a major step back and I feel like Baltimore did lose the game by not running Rice about 25 times today. Flacco couldn't hit the broad side of a barn today and it really hurt them. He was bad before he threw 4 interceptions.
i just read it and it gave me absolutely no insight to his play. It sounded like a middles school kids recap. you mentioned 5 times how "horrible" he looked and then compared him to a baseball pitcher. a little substance would be nice.

Man, calm down.

You are seriously overreacting. He faced the #1 defense out of the gate in the NY Jets, and a stout Cincy defense that always plays Baltimore tough. Don't fret about owning Rice. His days will come.
His first one will likely be this Sunday.
maybe i'm a biased rice owner, but i'm thinking this sunday, vs. a divisional opponent, coming off a bad loss to a divisional opponent and a 4 INT performance by flacco, the ravens would be wise to run rice silly and limit flacco (and his mistakes).
