RB Breece Hall, NYJ (2 Viewers)

And you know what @Dr. Octopus I bet the majority of people commenting on this thread DIDN'T watch the game either. Unless you were a Jets / Ravens fan, why bother?

Seems obtuse to chastise someone for being transparent. There were 14 games on yesterday, the majority of us haven't even watched HALF of them.

Did you watch this game @Dr. Octopus? I watched Bears / 49ers, Packers / Vikings, and Buccs / Cowboys.

What games did you watch so I know which players you're allowed to talk about.

There's a whole lot of overreaction in here.

I mean, he ran 6 times for 23 yards (3.8YPC) and caught 6 passes for 38 yards (6.3 YPR).

Those numbers are pretty rancid. Those are Darrell Henderson numbers of which nobody has been placated by in the fantasy community.
I thought he looked spry. The Ravens back 7 is probably the fastest in the NFL (& Marcus Peters didn't even play) and their D-Line played like a granite wall yesterday. The Jets still busted some plays and Hall looked very fast to me.

Just stop with your nonsense. I didn’t “bash” you for not watching the game. I “bashed” you for filling up this page with nonsense.

I’m sure you’ll continue on and I’ll just ignore you as to not derail the thread.

Are you aware Breece Hall fumbled the ball in Ravens territory stunting that drive?

Haven't seen that mentioned once, so it's clear there is bias in this discussion. I pulled up the tape. He looks explosive but also looks like a rookie to me. 1 BAD DROP and 1 BAD FUMBLE sprinkled in with a few decent runs.

Let me know if you disagree based on this footage below:

He averaged under 4 ypc and fumbled the ball in his first NFL start. People get mad when you talk honestly about their fantasy players...

I agree. He looked just as springy as any other RB I watched on Sunday. Acceleration and explosiveness are evident on tape.

Had a bad drop and also fumbled in Ravens territory. I didn't see any great moves but he did slip a nice tackle at the line of scrimmage that busted for a nice gainer.

He'll be a good ballplayer.

I watched the game, but I didn't pay any attention to how Hall picked up pass rushers. That's probably something he'll need to work on to gain the trust of his coaches and teammates. But, as I said, he looks good to me as a runner and pass-catcher.

Agreed. It's the fumble and dropped pass that concern me. You touch the ball 12 times and you fumble it?

He'll figure it out as long as this fumbleitis isn't a thing. I think you can run an offense through a player like this IF like you said he can pass protect and the fumble was a one off.

This is fantasy football. Stats matter. He had a low YPC, a drop, and a fumble. If you want to have an actual discussion about this player, it's fair to address those things. The good news he is a rookie and it was in sloppy conditions. I could see the team ceding so many carries to Carter due to the conditions.

Carter doesn't worry me, he's the definition of a JAG. Not sure if the sledding gets any easier against the Browns next week. Looking forward to seeing how this talent develops.

He looks explosive, and made some yards after contact.

There were 9 other RBs and WRs who lost a fumble yesterday, and 6 of those players have been around for awhile. These things happen to the best of them, so hopefully it was just an outlier, and not a sign of things to come.

Owners will need patience. I have a share in my keeper, but not any redraft, so there's no rush in that investment.

Here's a picture of the POOR BALL SECURITY that resulted in his fumble. He was offering the football to the defense like it was a free loaf of bread at your local soup kitchen and guess what? The defense took it away. No, I didn't watch the game but I'm willing to dissect stats, watch tape, and take screenshots for the betterment of this community.

Softly resting the ball on your forearm isn't going to work in the big boy league, he will learn from it.

Thank you, very helpful

I have no idea about this slap fight, but I was pleased the way yesterday went as a Breece guy even with the fumble and drop. It was pouring in the Meadowlands and made for a sloppy game. The play he fumbled on was a play a lot of backs do. He was the check down option, had barely turned around and the ball was on him. It was then up to him to make the football move with guys crashing from three different directions. Ripe for a fumble.

Baltimore was the 32nd-ranked (meaning the toughest) defense against fantasy running games last year. There's nowhere really for the Jets to go but up in the next few weeks, it would seem. Because while you could glean positives from both of the backs yesterday, there wasn't much offense to really speak of as a whole. I suspect they'll move the ball better next week, but who knows with Flacco?

Its going to be tough to fairly judge Breece while the corpse of Joe Flacco is playing QB....doesnt take a genius DC to go all out against the run and make Joe beat you. Also Carter is not going away IMO - they love the guy. Hall will still be a big factor but its going to be 50/50 for a while...still a big fan of his talent. Expecting it to pay off later in the year.

What are people's expectations going forward? The ten targets are encouraging. Is Hall NYJ 3rd down back, or was that mop-up duty?

Opinions seem mixed. I'm sniffing around in redraft if the price is right. He could be a league winner if things go right.

Big fan of the Shining but my eyes have gotten worse over the years, just figuring out that avatar you have up, we have a similar sense of humor as well as a love for supporting roles or even minor characters in famous films

I'll share one of mine, this actor was the bartender at the Overlook and of course he played Terrell in one of my all time favs, Blade Runner

MoP Note: Get an NFL Rewind password Stu and start watching film or game tapes so we can discuss.
-I want to see a negative before I provide you with a positive ;)

Hes going to have his moments but michael carter is NOT going away. This could be a really poor mans version of javonte williams melvin gordon. Carter does lot of things very well. Looks like jets will be behind most games and forced to pass.

I believe he’s going to get more valuable as the season goes on.

Zach Wilson may not be great, but he’s capable of things Flacco is not. Wilson’s mobility should open things up in the running game - and as Hall gets more reps, he should get better and better.

Seems like Hall could be a good buy-low, depending on how low you can get him.

That all said, it’s the Jets, so……

Lots of people wrote Carter off after NYJ drafted Hall. Unsurprisingly, all those people are now expecting the backfield to be a 50/50 split; Carter isn't going away, etc. I'm trying to acquire Hall where I can before he takes over. Time to zig while others are zagging.

Carter is a good back. Hall has a much better profile in every way. Hall will eventually take over. That’s why they drafted him.

Breece Hall rushed seven times for 50 yards and caught a 10-yard touchdown in the Jets' Week 2 win over the Browns.

Hall's 10-yard score was out of the flat on his only target of the game. Michael Carter also rushed seven times but out-targeted the rookie 5-1. The two are essentially splitting things right down the middle out of the Jets' backfield, leaving neither as much more than low-floor RB3 plays ahead of a Week 3 date with the Bengals.

Breece Hall rushed eight times for 39 yards in the Jets' Week 3 loss to the Bengals, adding six receptions for an additional 53 yards.

With the Jets in a negative game script and Joe Flacco passing 52 times, there was sure to be some targets going around. Hall benefitted and was able togain 92 total yards. Hall ran well today on his limited number of carries. While it's still a committee with he and Michael Carter, Hall showed today that he is indeed a back with dual-threat skills.

Stud almost broke the 100 rush/100 receiving threshold today. Hoo boy. Pray for his health and buckle up.
Surely the Jets will come to their senses soon on goal line work
Carter got the job done x2 - what senses do they need to come to?
Hard to believe Carter is better than Hall in roll. Carter could be decent at the goalone, but Hall would be better.
Probably - Hall is more physical but Carter is good at finding creases. Breece will still get his.

I'll probably end up losing my matchup because I started JRob over him. But I'll gladly accept the consolation prize of knowing I have my RB2 locked in ROS.

I think it may have been due to Hall breaking long plays before each of those carries. They wanted the fresh RB in.
I believe that was the primary factor.

People would be hard pressed to find someone more negatively impacted by the Carter goal line usage yesterday then me. I have 28 redraft leagues that require lineups. Breece Hall was in 7 of them and Zach Wilson was in 6 of them(don't judge, lifes been hard at QB some Lance/Dak/Stafford leagues). They were in the lineup together on two teams including an FFPC Main Event. And I of course started Carter zero places. Don't even have the heart to look and see if I was facing him on one of these teams.

But I try and keep it positive and not only obviously loved how Hall looked but it made my starting lineup calls easier. Yesterday was by far the highest amount of times I started Hall but still benched him once(Rhamondre) and was mulling in mixing Hunt over him in a few leagues. Health provided, and I got a little scared at one point because he looked like he was walking off a little gimpy, he's now ascended to must start status.

Watch the highlights Faust posted. Could have been a massive day yesterday. He almost got in both times before Carter came in to mop up those two TDs. Down at the 1 both times…

Loving this guy on my dynasty squad right now. Future is very bright for him on an up and coming offense. I should of bought low on redraft. Window is slammed shut now.

What’s the value on this guy after that performance in dynasty? Was offered Kamara and potentially early 2023 1st for him.

Breece Hall rushed 20 times for 116 yards and a touchdown in the Jets’ Week 6 win over the Packers, adding two receptions for an additional five yards.

If there was any question of a fluke after last week, he answered them today. Hall was dominant on the ground all day as he consistently ran for gains keeping the Jets ahead of the sticks. As the game wore on, Hall got better and better breaking tackles and out running defenders. If you drafted Hall, he was well worth the wait.
