RB Breece Hall, NYJ (1 Viewer)

chatter is picking up on him being dealt before the deadline. It makes zero sense for the Jets to keep him at 0-6, and I rank landing spots in this order: Houston, KC, Wash

As someone who has Hall and Omarion, I’m just assuming he ends up on the Chargers.

Chicago would be great imo. Not sure how I feel about the others.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this potential spot but I think Houston could be a sneaky fit. Mixon is toast, anything can happen to Chubb and Marks is still a ?. Hall could have a nice second contract there.

Breece is a 3-down back who doesn't need to be taken out during 2-minute drills. I'm very curious to see if/where he gets traded.

I'd love him here. Problem is the contract extension with Stroud and Anderson coming due as well.
that wouldnt be as bad as Burrow, Chase, Higgins. Of course Cincy is awful, but HOU can def sign/keep all 3 and be better off than Cincy. Breece isnt getting anywhere near $20M a year. HOU would be nice with him tho. Build up OL in the drafts.

I own a lot of Breece Hall, and Kamara , and generally pull for a trade for one of them.

But I got to say the grass is not always greener on the other side and I'm particularly concerned about one of them ending up with the Patriots and joining an ugly 3 man RBBC. Multiple reports that NE is shopping for a RB.

Breece may be saved from that due to division thing, but that no longer seems as much of an issue.

BTW-we need a trade thread and if we had one I'd mention the "big name" RB I think is most likely traded is Tony Pollard. The most likely RB to get traded at all IMO is Jerome Ford.

Contract extensions for RB's is really not much of a big thing though.

I believe Barkley signed for only 3 year $37.75 million last year (they since gave him another extension) but his cap hits are still less than $10MM per year the first few seasons. He does have a lot of void years they'll have to eventually eat but RB salary's aren't big hits like you said.

Texans GM has done a crap job managing the cap though (IMO) so they do need to pinch some pennies where they can or rework some big $ contracts.

While we wait for him to be traded, some clips to smile to yet still feel pained because Breece doesn't move like even his 2023 self. And the run he has against Buffalo where the WR celebrates instead of blocking for him and he gets caught from behind? That was opening day and he hadn't a full year to heal.

The year after returning from a torn ACL, 2023 Breece Hall was a big play machine, finishing:- 4th in scrimmage yards- 6th in yards after contact- 1st in receiving yards by a running back- 5th fastest speed among rbs (21.5 mph). 2024 is where we saw the dip in mph, not 2023.

https://x.com/jetsflightline/status/1978286916458938818. This is 2023 explosive runs. He still led the league, I think.

https://x.com/ClutchFantasy/status/1978311460787777746 - This is a 2022 clip of his long TD run in Denver the day he blew his ACL. Check the speed.

https://www.newyorkjets.com/video/h...-best-plays-in-a-116-yard-game-vs-the-packers - Sick run here against Green Bay when you realized dude was special (2022)

https://www.newyorkjets.com/video/breece-hall-2022-season-highlights - This is eight minutes of 2002 highlights, but he didn't play enough games to have a reel, really

From my brain to hopefully God's ears????? LOL

He does for like the initial 10-20 yards.

It's really kind of unusual IMO. Great initial burst and then it's like he can't open up or hit that next gear.

I was watching the week 4 game very closely and noticed this as well. He was getting tracked down by linebackers and running out of bounds (literally running to the sideline) after pretty big gains... where in years past it was a house call. I also noticed that he was leaving the field after every chunk gain.

It has totally changed my mind about what I'll take for an injured star. I was a little sick when it happened in Denver because for whatever reason I thought it might really affect him more than most. i mean, he was 215+ and had gliding sprinter speed when he got the corner. But, man, Nabers this year. Watch that stuff. Some guy offered me MHJ and T. Hunter in an offense-only league for Nabers and I didn't smash accept because—well, because there are weeks you can't use either of those guys and he sent it like the day of or after Nabers' injury so I was touch sore that my shot at a ship was marching out that door, but if I had my wits about I probably go ahead with that. I don't know. I know KTC would say that's a good deal, but Kyler and Lawrence every week? I don't know. Fair offer.

eta* man, that was a stupid refusal. I’m going to send it tonight.

If you’re only going to get a fifth round pick for him, what is the use? Play the season.

It’s better for my FF team if he goes, but that just doesn’t make sense. How many fifth round picks are making it?

I guess it depends what you want.

Don't the Jets get a fairly decent comp pick if Breece leaves in free agency? Why would they bother to trade him mid-season?
Runningbacks don't sign very big contracts relatively speaking. Barkley's contract with the Eagles only merited a 4th but the Giants didn't get one because they spent in FA and offset it. Jets have $90MM+ in cap space next year so probably will be spending at least some of that. Any comp pick also wouldn't be until '27 vs possibly getting a pick in '26. That's not to say that they will trade him, but those are factors they would consider.

Maybe the cross the field rivals will want him with Skattebo out. In all seriousness, if they were to trade him, this would be a great time after the big game (he can run, he can catch, and he can pass!!!). For those who have him, it would be awesome if he does get traded this week to a team that has already had a bye so you'll get more games out of him.

big thx to Breece for all he’s given us the last few years—with an upcoming bye, expiring contract, and 1-7 start, it makes 0.0 sense to not trade him and get a 3rd or 4th rounder (prob a 4th). He’d really help a lot of teams down the stretch.

No, they don't. I hate to cite myself, but I think it's a post that should answer your question. Click to expand it.

Also if he plays this week elsewhere a lot of us wouldn't have to start some waiver wire fill in back :)

Dear god - please let the Jets trade away Breece Hall. He’s wasting his career with that dumpster fire of a franchise.
I agree, but anywhere but the Chiefs.
Sure. I don’t care where — just dear god send him to a team with a real QB
Honestly, if you're not a Chiefs fan, would you really want to see them get Hall? IMO it would be a slap in the face to every other team in the AFC. The Chargers should think hard about that right now and snipe him. Then get a comp pick when he walks next year. The Jets aren't getting more than a 3rd round pick for him by the way and probably a 4th at best. Possibly a 3rd in a bidding war, but I wouldn't bet on that.

What an interesting player to try to value right now, especially in redraft. I can't decide if I'm willing to buy...if I do it's probably with the assumption that he's staying in New York and he'll need the volume and some semblance of offensive competency to stay on the RB1/2 fringe. The upside of course is that he gets traded to a better offense and keeps the same/similar volume.

If I didn't have him I'd want him in all formats right now.

If he stays put he carries on being a good, usable asset with the potential for massive weeks, if he moves he potentially upgrades his situation and lifts his ceiling and floor by about 20-30%.

I can see only positives regardless of what happens.

I keep ending up at this conclusion myself. Breece, for his part, isn't showing any quit. He has every motivation to show what he can do since this is a contract year. He had a quote about how he hates to lose, but if they're going to lose, he wants it to be on him. He'd probably welcome a trade but if he stays put he wants to be fed and realistically he's the Jets best offensive player and their best chance at staying in/winning games is to get him going.

This was never a Breece problem, it is a Jets offense problem. They unfortunately don't get to play against the Bengals D every week going forward though.

For his fantasy value this year I’m absolutely 100% hoping he does not get traded.

To much can go wrong. This was the last week I was ok with seeing him traded and most trades happen Monday-Wednesday, though I do recall CMC getting dealt on a Thursday, with it getting reported during the game.

My biggest concern is him essentially missing 2 additional usable game. A lot of teams he’s linked to have not had their bye yet so he runs risk of getting 2 bye weeks. Additionally in his first game, and maybe more, he has to adapt, learn the playbook and system and would likely be looking at a reduced role, maybe super limited that first week to point of being someone you don’t want to use.

Teams with the week 12 bye seem especially problematic and a lot of us play FFPC which has their LCG in week 14 which would be less than ideal.

After this week we are down to 8 fantasy games left. In some national redraft contest we’ll have just 3 more regular season weeks left after this one. I just don’t want to mess around with potentially losing 1-2 of those weeks.

I’m sure most of you heard he went to the staff and told term to lean on him more, especially with Garrett out. Just keep doing that, volume usually beats a better offense.

In terms of dynasty and real football I’ll be super disappointed if he remains on the team past this year, but right now I’m selfishly hoping he stays on the team for the ROS.
