Taking game script into account, we should see alot of Harris pretty quickly. The issue is can Kapernick hit him on dumpoffs without throwing the ball 100 miles an hour...So we going with Harris is the committee head if hydes out?
desperate times...
Sharks have said that DuJuan Harris has moved into the lead RB role with Hyde sitting? Good matchup.NFL Network on GameDay First show saying Hyde "not expected to play".
so your saying there's a chance...ESPN saying Hyde to go through his pregame workout and then the team will decide. They say the team is not optimistic, but not yet decided.
So... is that an upgrade from his red no-contact jersey last week? And so it begins again...
Per Nick Wagoner
49ers RB Carlos Hyde still battling shoulder injury is in blue no-contact jersey again at start of Tuesday's practice.
Or is it a downgrade?So... is that an upgrade from his red no-contact jersey last week?![]()

You won't get talked out of it by me. I'm pretty sure I'm doing the same thing for the same reasons.Well looks like he's a go. Not all that excited anyway and am leaning towards sitting him due to the injury and matchup. Anyone want to talk me out of it?
Horrible. He had no room so it wasn't all his fault, but there was no silver lining to his crummy stat line.Didnt watch, how did hyde look?
No set backs would be the silver lining. But it's a small oneHorrible. He had no room so it wasn't all his fault, but there was no silver lining to his crummy stat line.
Yep. He is. His situation isn't really that bad either. Their QB is a threat with his legs which helps him. Chip Kelley has no problem running him when down big. And they use the quick pace offense so a lot of plays. His biggest problem is he's kind of fragile.I don't seem to care about the rankings this week. I'm starting him regardless. I believe in Hyde's talent. When I watch the guy I repeatedly think he could be the top RB in fantasy if he was on the right team. Am I the only one? Does anyone watch the guy and think he looks like an elite RB in a bad situation?
Agree, but add his injury history in as well at this point. I'm a huge Buckeye homer so I never doubted the talent and figure the situation will eventually rectify itself but at some point you gotta be concerned about his availability. I traded him when I had positional needs at WR and lots of RB depth but would love to add him at current prices.I don't seem to care about the rankings this week. I'm starting him regardless. I agree, and it's twice as annoying for me because I also own Gurley in my one dynasty league. I'm just holding out that the old adage, "talent wins out in dynasty" holds true. Hyde looks like he can be elite. The problem is that the 49ers look like total crap.I don't seem to care about the rankings this week. I'm starting him regardless. I believe in Hyde's talent. kutta said:He has actually been amazingly consistent and good while healthy this year. I know we all hate the "remove this game because of ...", but I'm going to do it. If you remove the game he got hurt, and remove his first game back when he didn't look healthy, here are his PPG in PPR:
23.3, 9.2, 25.5, 14.9, 24.4, 15, 20.5.
That averages to about 19 PPG, and puts him right at 6th in RB PPG this year, behind DJ, Bell, Zeke, Gordon, and Murray. I'll take that any day.
I feel like I just watched Fazzini give Wesley a summation of where the poison is in the Princes Bride.Hyde is such an interesting mix of heavy pros and heavy cons at this point in the season. He's fascinating when it comes to FF playoff performance possibilities.
PRO: When he's healthy, he's been really solid (particularly in PPR).
CON: See opening caveat of above "pro" sentence.
PRO: Teams with new coaches implementing more complicated offensive systems often see upticks in production toward season-end. An NFL offense can be tough to implement (from the blocking schemes to the routes and everything in between) and often takes weeks "on-the-ground" (real games) before it starts to click. In theory, SF should be getting closer to gelling on the offensive side of the ball and that could mean good things.
CON: Niners have zero chance at playoffs. Does everything regress? (Note the contrast with Miami where the Adam Gase offense is showing signs of coming together as the season goes on but, unlike the Niners, the Dolphins are still in the hunt.)
PRO: Kaep's recent QB play should theoretically benefit Hyde's opportunity to shine.
CON: Kaep might be a TD vulture.
PRO: Chip Kelly RBs can/should be terrific PPR players.
CON: The above should have a caveat regarding the offensive line.
PRO: If Kelly is staying, players get a chance to impress him over the next few weeks.
CON: If Kelly is going...not so much.
PRO: Hyde hasn't shown a consistent year yet and will want serious numbers if we wants to land a serious second contract (in SF or elsewhere).
CON: Contract won't be up until after NEXT season, so the motivation isn't at desperation levels yet.
SUMMARY: I wouldn't be surprised if Hyde proves a Top 5 playoff RBs that "comes out of nowhere" (because the signs are there for that possibility) but also wouldn't be surprised if he sits around RB10-RB15ish during that span. I would be surprised if he performed at lower than RB15 but perhaps my expectations are wonky.
Ware has been a dud for over a month versus nearly all plus-side match-ups.Been banging my head on the wall all year trying to decide who to flex between Hyde and Ware all year. Will most likely choose the wrong person again this week.
AgreedWare has been a dud for over a month versus nearly all plus-side match-ups.
This isn't even close for me until further notice.
Same people keep ranking ware an rb1 and Adams a wr3Recurring thought. I don't see how the guys ranking players don't have Hyde much higher this week. I have mad respect for Dave Dodds, but I just think he's wrong. Using my leagues scoring system (PPR) he has Hyde as RB15, Seems another perfect situation for Hyde to prove his worth I guess. Maybe I'm dooming myself by sticking my neck out? Didn't come back to haunt me last week. Guess we'll see.
Those same people seem to be right. I own Ware and Adams, but Adams was on the bench this week and Ware started.Same people keep ranking ware an rb1 and Adams a wr3
This dude is going to be really good if San Fran ever gets their poo together.
Hyde against LA's poor team might make him a really solid play this week. He's a good back, he's just unable to get into a game with enough carries. That's been the problem all year.
Also alluded to San Fran taking Fournette with their pick![]()

According to Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline, the 49ers are "ready to give up" on Carlos Hyde due to his struggles with injuries.
Hyde has missed 14 games through three seasons, including 12-of-32 the past two years. He is now entering a contract year under a new front-office regime. It's possible the 49ers don't see Hyde's power-back skill set as a fit for new coach Kyle Shanahan's zone scheme. Hyde is also one of the NFL's least effective pass-catching backs. If Pauline's report is accurate, the 49ers could consider shopping Hyde for a middle-round pick on draft weekend.

That would about the worst thing San Fran could do. Trade a guy for a day 2, or even 3 pick, and draft a replacement at #2 overall, who might not even be better than the guy he's replacing. Also alluded to San Fran taking Fournette with their pick
I doubt that will happen. Hyde is still cheap on his rookie contract and Shanahan has shown he can utilize 2 RBs well. Even if they go with Fournette, Hyde would be good for 10 carries a game. He might even be able to survive a full season with that workload.![]()

Not buying this. Seems like smoke in case someone really wants Fornette and thinks SF will (might) take him with the 2nd pick. SF obviously wants to trade down and this seems like a ploy to spark interest. That would about the worst thing San Fran could do. Agree completely. Of course I own Hyde so maybe I'm biased but of all the things SF needs to be focusing on seems like a RB has gotta be pretty low on the list. Not buying this. This is why the NFL draft is so much fun. Ton of misinformation being floated around. One big hustle...................
