RB Chester Taylor OUT? - Per ESPN Radio (1 Viewer)

we sure have....i'm likely fubar'd now. gotta pray for that goalline touch, but it looks like Pinner is getting the short yardage stuff too :(

can anyone explain whats going on here? all the hype this week for fason & i started him ... it could very well cost myself & others a playoff matchup :wall: :wall:

sigh... why bother trying to be "up" on the news, huh? Pinner?!? Fason was "starting" in place of Taylor in the late breaking news... oh well, still alot of game to go, but that's one missed Td possibility Fason didn't get and it isn't like Minnesota will be putting up over 20+ pts this game... so probably one one or two chance left...

I started Fason based on this thread too because the logic made sense, but who could have predicted Pinner?

Moore we knew was a possibility.

Nobody made me put Fason in, 100% my choice. :banned:

So today I'll just be

:ptts:

and

Fason was acctually picked up? It's a lesson to be learned by new Fantasy players.....back-ups are rarely starter quality. And I have rarely seen "handcuffed" players return value. Fason was a real stretch though. Get Pinner for next week and watch Mewelde go off!!!!!

Betts keeps getting me 100 yards ad Taylor will probably be back next week

That sure doesn't make sense?!If Minnesota didn't lie to the world for whatever lame reason they had and said Pinner will get the start over Taylor this week, all the Fason owners would have started Pinner instead of Fason and be rightly justified as the starting Minnesota RB against Detroit is scoring huge.It is far from a new fantasy player move. The news that Fason would get the start made sense after his 75 yds and Td last week, getting playing time when Taylor got dinged. It is not like Pinner came into the game last week and put up 75 yrds and a Td and the coaching staff was saying Fason would start. That would give anyone some pause to question the validity... Now it pretty much solidifies Coach Childress on an extremely low credibility scale on info about his team...Who knows, maybe Fason blew chunks before the game getting too nervous about his first start... then that causes Pinner to get early playing time... he got hot... and Childress let him stay in there... I don't have the game live, so I can't attest to the coverage comments on the RB situation, but undoubtably... the post game press conference will probably have that question posed to Childress...

Just to sum it up.....this effin' sucks.

So much for being up to the minute.....thank you Childress, you just helped cost me a few hundred bucks.

My one question about this Fason/Pinner story is:

Did Pinner practice with the 1st team last week?

I was one of the those Talyor owners that picked up Fason and started him as an late minue injury replacement. I'm a Bears fan that watched Fason run on my beloved team the week before and for sure thought that I had struck fantasy gold, only to be ### raped by Pinner and his 2 TD performance.

All I kept thinking about last night was out of all of the information that I had read leading up to my decision to pick up Fason, the only piece of information I didn't have was the "practice logs" (who practiced with what teams, etc). Did anyone know this information?

Uh, hope this doesn't piss you off anymore, but it was a Pinner 3 TD performance.Oh well, I got sucked as well. I put Fason in over Cotchery, but my motives were a little simpler. My playoff position was set, I just needed to make sure that I kept my total points lead in tact for the $$$ before the playoffs. I figured since Fason was "starting" that he would be a safer bet at at least getting me some points. I just didn't want to risk a 1 or 2 reception game for a "starter" we all knew (and the starter did) would get at least 80 total yards and maybe a TD. Didn't end up costing me that much, just 6 points, so it didn't matter to me.The thing that pisses me off the most is that Taylor missed out on this cherry game after doing very well against a great Bears defense. This was his chance for the multi-TD game seeing as how Brad Johnson has done well to keep him away from the end zone. Chester is a top 10 RB in my PPR league, so just a shame that he missed a great game after a pretty darn good season IMHO.

As I stated and some other stated last week, Fason DID NOT look good last week if you watched the game. He had numbers because C. Taylor wore them down, however there was not a run that I said wow he is good. That safety he took was the worst run of the year. What was he doing? I really do not think Fason is worth anything he is junk!!

I'm convinced, Fason gets cut tomorrow. I got suckered in too but luckily held on to win the 1st round of the playoffs.

 C'mon Fason didn't look that terrible in the Bears game (save the safety run which was dumb). I watched the whole game too. He went 11 for 75, you can't ask for much more than that.

There is no doubt that many got suckered as Childress is like Shanahan and Belechek in giving us any information. Fantasy football is what drives the NFL. It is why they can put NFL games on the NFL network and not even let the local market see the game unless their cable package or satelite package includes NFL network. There should be a rule in giving us the information that we need, so their BUSINESS continutes to prosper. I wouldn't call anyone stupid for getting suckered, but for anybody who watched the guy run you had to be a little concerned that he was not going to get it done. But, everyone was pumping him up for some reason last week and that caused others to buy in. I am glad you won your game, but you must have had Brees or someone to pick up for his lack of production.

Was there a run that you said, "Wow, he is pretty good" Their were holes that Fridgerator Perry could get through. He did not break tackles, hit the hole hard, or show any speed. He just ran forward and go what the line got for him. When Chester runs, he is always a danger to break it. There was no way that I thought Fason could do that. He did have that one decent run, but again nothing special. Pinner is at least fast. He did well when he played for Lions last year, but did not know how to let an RB find his groove. I would say Pinner is better, but I also did not see it coming, no way, no how! The bigger question is, do you think Chester will be back this week! That would make me very, very, happy!
