RB Chris Rodriguez Jr., WAS (2 Viewers)

Chris the Bull started last week and looked great on the opening drive. He rotated out after two series and ultimately ended up with 38% snap share, 11 carries at 3.55 YPC and no targets.

Jack the Bill came in relief and ended up with 40% snap share, 8 carries at 3.25 YPC and 1 target for 1 catch and 5 yards. He did punch in a G/L TD.

Jerr McNick ended with 26% snaps, 3 carries at 6 YPC and one more carry for 60 and a tuddy on horrendous Raiders tackling. No targets.

Nothing was established last weekend, unless you are a believer in McNick.

Cream will rise to the top. Rodriguez will produce just like he always has when given the opportunity. Everyone’s darling Bill is already banged up
Holding him in a couple leagues.

Worth a start as a flex if Bill is out?

Not sure ATL is a great matchup. Plus, Mariota could steal the TDs on the goal line.

I've always liked CRod. He might even be a little underrated. I could see him having a good game against Atlanta if Bill is out. Long-term, he simply can't do a lot of the things Bill can do. I think Thunder/Lightning is a possibility with CRod/Bill, especially early on. McNichols is just depth (long-term).

CRod is in his 3rd season so he's got that going for him, but I can't see him holding back Bill for very long. This season, max. In the end, I believe CRod is going to be a day late and a dollar short as far as dynasty. He's not a bad RB, though.

Leading rusher in loss

Rodriguez carried the ball seven times for 59 yards in Sunday's 34-27 loss to the Falcons.

ANALYSIS
Most of his damage came on a 48-yard carry on the final play of the first quarter, but it was enough to lead the Commanders' backfield in rushing yards. Rodriguez watched rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt led all Washington backs in touches with nine, while Deebo Samuel also got three carries and Jeremy McNichols handled three touches, as the entire committee produced 6.7 yards per carry -- a situation that leaves none of those RBs as reliable fantasy plays without a consistent path to more volume. Rodriguez may need a TD to make a splash in Week 5 against the Chargers.

It's basically who gets the splash play or TD.

He was free off the wire and could turn into their number 1 back. I’m holding for sure. Daniel’s return will boost all the backs value and anything can happen after that. You feed CRod with more volume and he will produce, let’s hope the coaching staff figures that out

Bill isn't going away. I refuse to believe C-Rod is going to keep Bill from being the lead back. Bill can make cuts and has a top end speed that C-Rod and McNichols don't have. I'll quote Mocho Man..."the cream always rises to the top! YEAAAAH!!"

CRod is a power back who finds the crease and can wear out a defense. Bill is already dinged

For the RB hungry, is there anything to see here?

Tough matchup. He actually looked very good last week.

As someone who is debating the ridiculous AZ backfield, I'm sadly interested.

Chris Rodriguez was named a captain for this week. I expect to see a lot of him early on against the Lions. After running just 9 times over four games before last week, he tallied 11 rushing attempts against the Seahawks. Feels like the Commanders will be giving him more work.

He'll get the early work, but I look for McNichols to get the lions share when they are behind.

Being named a team captain is interesting. Last week he didn't see a snap until the end of the second when the score was 28-0. But, he was better than JCM from that point forward.

The biggest concern anyone should have for Commanders RBs is Kingsbury. IMO, he just isn't going to give anyone enough volume to truly hit a groove.

That is assuming a lot.

Yes, I assume WAS will be losing, and McNichols will see the bulk of the passing down work

Bill has been nothing but a roster clogger

The Skins are going to pound the ball with C-Rod this week He's a big back and he can take a pounding that Bill can't take.

Just give him 20+touches and see how it goes .
I think if you are churning an end of bench spot look no further, than C-Rod. If he does hit and shows good then I'm really invested for next week vs the Dolphins bad rush D. After that maybe you can then flip em in a trade. I doubt he has any higher value after a good 2 weeks. People always need RB.

Down super bad in a league (Pollard my RB2 and is on bye) and zero backs after him. So I went from starting Corum to dropping him and now starting Rodriguez.

Noticed that Miami matchup.

JCM just didn't look good last week and then he came in and looked fantastic.

I'm debating the AZ backs vs CRod right now.

This feels like an incoming 13-42-0, but I'm RB desperate.

So more carries than he's had in any game this season. Seems wishful. The yardage might be correct.

Don’t besmirch Captain Rodriguez’s name like that.

Rolling him out this week out of complete and total desperation in a 14 teamer where we have to start 2 RBs

A TD would be nice
Condolences. May the fantasy Gods be with you during this difficult time.
Much appreciated

However it was the fantasy gods that put me in this predicament by injuring Hampton and Conner and Benson and Bucky, so not sure they are going to help me out.

Deserved....... :coffee:

Picked him up in both leagues "for free", going to leave him on my bench hoping the rumors he's a better blocker for Mariota leads to more playing time... Don't like the next few matchups but could be useful insurance and who knows about playoff weeks if I get that far.

I've heard the Commanders pick new Captains every week, one offense, one defense, and one special teams. Hasn't been much of a useful indicator in the past, but who knows what ploys to motivate players may be in effect...

Has anyone consulted Tatum Bell?

Needed that LOL tonight. Thank you!!

He got hurt in the 2nd half with a AC Shoulder sprain but, was lowkey on his way to a fine day. Keeping him in case he is good to go.

Also Team Captain and Quinn does rotate them but whatever, he is a lead back for the team barring injury choo choo?!

Looks G2G, I think at least RB3/Flex workload expected. https://x.com/CameronWolfe/status/1988609550640087258
Worth dropping Pacheco for?
Depends on your roster, and it’s a risky move. I tend to think Rodriguez will be more valuable going forward.

Teams going in different directions. WASH should pivot to lean on the running game - whereas KC will probably keep on doing what they are doing - running through the pass game.

Right now, I value Rodriguez over Pacheco.

I dropped Pacheco for CRod last week (Pacheco's bye) and am still holding. No one's picked up Pacheco since. The news that Pacheco is not practicing and "probably won't be ready for this week" is keeping people away for sure. Clicking his player icon and seeing that Questionable-MCL tag really makes me think no one is going to be going after him anytime soon.

So, yeah, unless you're stacked and are looking many weeks ahead (and if you are, why is this your question), CRod has value "now", Pacheco maybe has at a best case similar value "later".

Well, obviously not someone you want to start but desperate times in a 14 teamer where you have to start 2 RBs, so putting him in over the other garbage on the waiver wire. He does have a TD in 3 of the last 4 games and Miami has a crappy run D.

Decided not to drop him for CRod.

CRod is on bye next week which is why I hesitated. Unless I start him this week...which I may have to...I think I'll hang on to Pacheco.

We'll see. If there's anymore coachspeak about his role increasing, Pacheco is gone. Don't think CRod is on anyone's radar in this particular league if he's still sitting there in FA for free.
