Worth dropping Pacheco for?

Depends on your roster, and it’s a risky move. I tend to think Rodriguez will be more valuable going forward.

Teams going in different directions. WASH should pivot to lean on the running game - whereas KC will probably keep on doing what they are doing - running through the pass game.

Right now, I value Rodriguez over Pacheco.

I dropped Pacheco for CRod last week (Pacheco's bye) and am still holding. No one's picked up Pacheco since. The news that Pacheco is not practicing and "probably won't be ready for this week" is keeping people away for sure. Clicking his player icon and seeing that Questionable-MCL tag really makes me think no one is going to be going after him anytime soon.

So, yeah, unless you're stacked and are looking many weeks ahead (and if you are, why is this your question), CRod has value "now", Pacheco maybe has at a best case similar value "later".

Decided not to drop him for CRod.

CRod is on bye next week which is why I hesitated. Unless I start him this week...which I may have to...I think I'll hang on to Pacheco.

We'll see. If there's anymore coachspeak about his role increasing, Pacheco is gone. Don't think CRod is on anyone's radar in this particular league if he's still sitting there in FA for free.

Yea Pacheco, is more valuable here. but not grossly. I believe Rashee Rice is the biggest impact to KC backfield. As long as he is upright he kinda functions as a suedo pass catching RB

Plus Hunt is just a much better runner than Pacheco so while he may officially be the starter, Hunt will get the goal line work which means 40 yards rushing and not much else for Pacheco.

At least Rodriguez has a chance to be the lead back in Washington. I would rather roll with him than Pacheco. Better of two bad options IMO

The Commanders activated Chase Edmonds from the practice squad, so either they will have 4 RBs tomorrow, or one of the Commanders usual running backs would be inactive, presumably Jacory Croskey-Merritt.

CRod is "special", haha. I actually like Rodriguez. I think he's a little underrated, but just a guy in the end. There's minimal long-term FF value there.

You're much better off staying with Bill in dynasty, even with how the situation has played out so far. It's simply a matter of the differences in their ceiling. If you want to invest in a similar style RB as CRod, Ollie Gordon would be a WAY better long-term investment, even though he's getting a lot fewer touches right now (and he's 4 years younger).

Chris Rodriguez Jr. makes second-straight start: Rodriguez was the Commanders' primary running back for the first two drives, totaling eight carries before any other Commanders running back ran the ball.

The Commanders started the season with Austin Ekeler as their starting running back, using him for two drives before turning primarily to Jacory Croskey-Merritt. After Ekeler’s season-ending injury, Rodriguez took over as the starter for two weeks. Croskey-Merritt played well enough over the first four weeks to earn the starting job in Week 5, leading to a 14-carry, 111-yard and two-touchdown game. However, he was held to 3.6 yards per carry or fewer in each of the last five games.

This led the team to turn back to Rodriguez for the first two drives last week. Rather than Croskey-Merritt taking over for the rest of the game as he did in the first four weeks of the season, the two running backs split snaps for the second and third quarters. Rodriguez suffered a shoulder injury, causing him to miss the rest of the game. Luckily, Rodriguez was a full participant in practice this week.

Rodriguez started the first two drives, which took most of the first half. Croskey-Merritt didn’t play his first snap until there were less than six minutes in the half. The Commanders also turned to Rodriguez to begin the second half. The Commanders did a good job of avoiding long third downs, so receiving back Jeremy McNichols didn’t play as much as usual. This left Rodriguez with season-highs in playing time and touches.

Rodriguez should be a top priority off the waiver wire in any league where he is available. The Commanders have their bye week next week, but Rodriguez has an excellent schedule during the fantasy playoffs. Washington faces its three division rivals. The New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys both rank among the top three teams at allowing fantasy points to running backs, while the Eagles have also been a favorable matchup for running backs. Croskey-Merritt should no longer be in fantasy starting lineups, but he is one of the top handcuffs for the rest of the season due to the Commanders' late-season schedule.

Rodriguez Jr. played 30/67 snaps for 48%, not ideal but it led the backfield.
Croskey-Merritt played 18/67 snaps for 28%, playing only 1 more snap than McNichols.

Chris Rodriguez rushed 15 times for 79 yards in the Commanders’ Week 11 loss to the Dolphins.

Rodriguez drew the start last week but left early with a shoulder injury. He played a full four quarters today and easily led the team in carries and rushing yards. Jacory Croskey-Merritt saw nine attempts and Jeremy McNichols rushed four times. The Commanders have thrown in the towel on Bill, elevating Rodriguez to lead back duties. He will be a two-down RB3 versus the Broncos coming out of Washington’s upcoming bye.
