How will Lions handle Craig Reynolds carries when Swift and Jamaal Williams come back?
Williams was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list today, and with Swift returning to practice as well, where does that leave Reynolds, who's played really well the last two weeks? Reynolds has rushed 37 times for 195 yards for a 5.3-yard average the last two weeks filling in for Swift and Williams.
Campbell said it's a good problem to have to be this deep at running back. He said Reynolds has earned some carries moving forward, even with Swift and Williams potentially returning to the field.
I agree completely. There is a chance that it DID happen and he preferred to stay with the team that already gave him an opportunity in an offense he’s comfortable with, though—rather than leaving to possibly be cut after a week on someone else’s active roster. It happens sometimes that PS players choose to stay rather than be stolen to someone else’s active roster—it’s the players choice whether to accept the contract or not, unlike if they were on waivers and got claimed.Unbelievable that the Lions left him unprotected after his first game and no one put a claim in for him. Neither the Lions nor the other 31 are so good that they can't use a back like him even if just next offseason trade value.
I am really surprised to see he only had 3 touches. He was on the field way more than that, that’s how I felt before reading your post.I didn’t see the game but it looked like he was pretty productive with each of his 3 touches, 2 rushes for 30 yards (9 and 21) and 1 catch for 12. Swift owner here who picked him up before the game as Jamaal was already rostered and of course he had a big game. I guess not much defense was being played in Detroit yesterday?
I doubt it considering the Lions also have a depth need at the position.Stupid question territory: is there any remote chance Reynolds could be a trade candidate to Denver? I am leery of dropping him and having him locked onto waivers when such a trade might come down. Of course this is probably a case of overvaluing your own players, but just wanted to see what others might think here.
Jamaal Williams 37 snaps (50%)
Craig Reynolds 24 snaps (32%)
Justing Jackson 9 snaps (12%)
I don't see it, especially with Jamaal Williams on the last year of his contract.Stupid question territory: is there any remote chance Reynolds could be a trade candidate to Denver? I am leery of dropping him and having him locked onto waivers when such a trade might come down. Of course this is probably a case of overvaluing your own players, but just wanted to see what others might think here.
