I shopped him in a Zealots league because I also have Cousins, Thielen and Irv Smith.  There really wasn't much interest and I ended up moving him for what most on here thought was highway robbery for the other guy.  

I gave up Cook, Mostert and 3.01 (Raachad White) for M. Sanders, Conner, Trautman, 2.03 (which I then traded for Toney), & 3.07 (Quay Walker) 

I really needed RB depth I could play and getting some diversification from the Vikings was necessary.  I also still have Mattison as the other guy didn't insist on including him so if Cook goes down I benefit as well.

And everyone in PPR leagues gets all excited about it & it never manifests into anything of substance.

That said the offense with the Rams does do a lot of lining up RB outside and motion to check the coverage and I do expect there to be more of this in the real games as well.

It wasn't highway robbery.  In dynasty RB value starts to plummet once they hit 27'ish.  Nobody wants to give up a bunch and end up holding the bag with aging RB's.

There was no interest in Cook as far as owners coming to me once I put him on the trade block.  I had to go search out trade partners and start throwing out ideas.  I was a bit surprised at how little interest there was in Cook.  He is a hard guy to trade for sure at this stage of his career.  Harder than a guy like Zeke because his upside is a lot higher so you don't want to just take a hit to get rid of him like some other older RB's.   I was happy with the deal based on the lack of interest but I for sure didn't get full value for how I valued Cook.  I do think my starting lineup is overall better after the deal though.

I don't see a huge gap between Conner and Cook. Same age, Conner's situation improved this year, Cook's didn't seem to, Conner outscored him in ppg and played more games than him last year and has missed fewer games than cook overall.  People see Cook as having a down year and Conner having a career year, but Conner's been huge before, and it seems like he'll have the opportunity again. Mostert is waiver fodder.  I personally don't like Toney or Sanders that much but this is a snap accept for me.

That seems to be his range based on the FBG league ADP so far.  Paired him up with Henry, so won't be hating my 2nd RB at least.  Might hate my WRs of course. TE premium so Kelce and Andrews are going 8-13 range.

Using Dalvin Cook At Receiver Goes Beyond the Box Score

 Last season, Cook ranked 66th out of 67 qualifying running backs with an average depth of target of -1.8 yards. Cook posted similar numbers the past two seasons. He finished 57th out of 58 qualifiers with an -1.9 aDOT in 2020 and 43rd out of 46 qualifiers with a -1.6 aDOT in 2019.

That’s much different than what O’Connell did in his two seasons with the Los Angeles Rams. In 2020, Darrell Henderson had 19.9% of his snaps on passing downs either in the slot or out wide. That number jumped to 32.2% last season. The Rams’ use of Henderson also did wonders for their aDOT. Henderson led LA with a 0.8 aDOT in 2020 and a 1.3 aDOT in 2019.

Although these margins may seem small I thought it was an interesting thing to contrast as it does show that KOC has used his RB as more downfield threats than the Vikings have been with the Kubiak's.

I absolutely would be ecstatic if Cook can produce at least 75% of Todd Gurley's 2017 production.  I believe KOC has everything he needs to be able to replicate McVay's offense scheme plus KOC's wrinkles.  Though, Vikings WRs will need to learn to block bit more (McVay had Wood and Kupp to do the blocking).

Dalvin Cook rushed 20 times for 90 yards in the Vikings' Week 1 win over the Packers, adding three catches for 18 yards.​

Cook didn't quite dominate the carries for Minnesota as Alexander Mattison did mix in for eight rush attempts. However, 20 carries and five targets are a strong Week 1 showing from Cook. He finished second on the team in targets, earning a 16 percent target share. Cook's split with Mattison will be worth monitoring over the next few weeks, but his role still appears to be that of an elite running back. Against a Philly defense that just allowed D'Andre Swift to rush for 144 yards, Cook should be able to rebound in Week 2.

I think the Vikes just need to play their game. The game plan was good in Week 1 and a balanced approach will be better for them overall. Don't force the run to try and "control the clock".

Based on the 1st game I think the Vikings take what the defense gives them. If that is a lot of Cook then great.

The Eagles did give up a lot yards to Swift in their first game so maybe that is the path for the Vikings as well, or maybe the Eagles are more focused on limiting Cook as an adjustment to that, hard to say.

I did hear an interesting stat split where the Eagles gave up less yards on the ground with Jordan Davis on the field compared to without him. Maybe he plays more snaps this game? That seems to be what their fans want them to do.

Whatever the game plan I hope the Vikings find the weakness and take advantage of it

That's your opinion. It's plain as day what their goal is. Feed Jefferson. Sure it worked last week, but it didn't last night. Why? Defense took it away. Having Slay obviously helps. But when a defense takes away what you WANT to do, you have to adjust. They did not adjust until way too late. You think I favor Cook? Let's talk Thielen. Was off the box score until in the 2nd half. So no targets for Adam and I believe 3 carries for Cook in the first half. And you were getting blown out. Playaction is what Cousins does best, When you avoid trying to run, you take away your QB's strength.

There's a happy medium where its recognized that Zimmer was a dinosaur, and that its good to take advantage of Jefferson's talent when it's working, but where yesterday's game made it painfully obvious that the current offense is too much of a pass funnel. Speaking Wednesday, coach Kevin O'Connell said he's "got to do a better job" of getting Dalvin Cook in a rhythm.​

Cook is seeing elite playing time at the running back position, but he fell victim to game script in Week 2 and has yet to find the end zone through two games despite 37 combined carries and targets. Cook is the overall RB28 in half-PPR points per game at the moment, but the usage is there for him to be an elite RB1. Cook's fantasy players are likely frustrated, but better days are ahead. He makes sense as a prime buy-low target ahead of a Week 3 date with the Lions.

ProFootballTalk reported on Sunday that Cook is expected to wear a brace and play in Week 4. O'Connell acknowledged that Cook's shoulder is sore, but also noted that this is an injury he's familiar with. Cook suffered a dislocated shoulder in Sunday's win over the Lions, an injury that he has become all-too-familiar with throughout his career. Assuming he's active against the Saints, Cook will be a top-12 back.

Not saying that will happen again, just pointing out that he can still produce off a familiar injury.

Still unsure why he doesn’t just always wear this harness they talk about. Might as well if your shoulders are pop rocks.

Cook caught both of his targets for 10 yards but was on the sidelines for a 15-yard receiving touchdown by Alexander Mattison. Justin Jefferson also punched in a three-ard score on a jet sweep. Mattison got a few snaps on passing downs, but Cook was still the focal point of the running game, out-carrying Mattison 20-3. Cook entered this game dealing with a shoulder injury, but it didn't appear to bother him or affect his workload. He remains an RB1 for his Week 5 matchup with the Bears.

Cook was bottled up most of the day and went into halftime with just nine total yards on five touches, but Cook was able to save his box score with a clutch 53-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to put the Vikings up by two touchdowns. Cook has yet to run for 100 yards in a game this season, and his pass-game involvement has left a lot to be desired, but he's been a consistent RB1 producer with four touchdowns and 75-plus rushing yards in 5-of-6 contests. Cook gets the Week 7 bye ahead of a Week 8 date with the Cardinals.

Cook continues his mediocre season as the workhorse in the Minnesota backfield. He salvaged his fantasy outing with a nice one-armed touchdown reception in the corner of the end zone in the fourth quarter, but was generally uninvolved in the Vikings passing offense. Cook has more than two catches in just one of his past five games. All but locked in for 20 touches a week in the pass-first Minnesota offense, Cook should be a RB1 option in Week 10 against the Bills.

Cook was bottled up for most of this game, failing to break one of his signature runs for a massive gain. The performance goes down as another subpar fantasy outing for the highly-drafted fantasy back. He has just two games with 100 rushing yards in 2022 and has skated by on seven total touchdowns. The good news is that Alexander Mattison only saw three carries and was not targeted. Cook will look to make more of his workhorse role in Week 13 against the Jets.

Cook got fed early and often as he scored the first touchdown of the game in the first quarter. Although Alexander Mattison scored on what could’ve been another touchdown for Cook, it was a solid day that saw him used as the focal point of the offense. It was tough sledding for the Vikings offense as a whole, but they found a way to make make plays when it counted. Cook has a very inviting matchup in Week 14 against the Lions.

Their QB isn't consistent enough and Alex Mattison is getting some more touches this year then he was before. I guess to try and keep Cook healthy as possible.

Dalvin Cook rushed 17 times for 95 yards and caught all four targets for 95 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings' Week 15 win over the Colts.​

The 95 rushing yards came despite the Vikings trailing 33-points at half. Cook sent the game to overtime on a 64-yard catch and run late in the fourth quarter where he broke multiple tackles on his way to the end-zone. This was one of the best games of the season for Cook, who hadn't went over 100 total yards since Week 10. Cook now has touchdowns in his last three games after going without a TD in two straight. He has a favorable matchup with the Giants' bottom-five run defense in Week 16.
