RB Dalvin Cook, DAL (2 Viewers)

Feels like a fit in Dallas, keeping Pollard fresh and focusing more on passing downs. Keeps an explosive back on the field when they're spelling him. Let Cook be a 10-15 touches guy and keep Pollard as the primary back.

As for Minnesota, not sure I'm convinced that Mattison can't be overtaken pretty easily but by whom? Chandler? McBride? Nwangwu? There's a bunch of FA RBs that would be at minimum equal or better than any of them at certain roles.

Have a friend who does financial work for James Cook. He spoke with Dalvin's agent and it is 60/40 that Dalvin goes either to the Dolphins or the Jets. Dolphins have the advantage because he is from there and of course no state income tax.
I don't know why teams that already have tons of good running backs want Cook. I don't get it. There's 10 teams that need RBs more than either of those teams.

By no means am I Jets fan but I don't think Hall will be ready and they are seemingly going "all in" for this year. But they will have to pay more than Miami if they want him.

All reports are Hall will be ready. I’m not doubting you, just surprised.

That Jets or Dolphins rumor has been around since last week. I'm still having a hard time buying it, especially on the Jets side. Not trying to dispute what anyone is saying in here or info they are passing along-which I appreciate, I just have a hard time seeing the Jets due to money, Hall and to a lesser extent the other RB's on the team.

Now Dalvin does follow the Jet's on twitter, maybe only other team. Rodgers and Hackett have seen him up close for years and one of them has big sway in roster construction. There is the report they were interested in drafting Gibbs in round one. It's enough stuff to make me not shocked if he went to the Jets, just seems doubtful to me.

Abanikandi is better than what Cook is right now most likely
Aaron Rodgers just loves counting on rookies, especially to keep him off the turf.

I love Izzy, but I think you are severely underrating Dalvin.

Perhaps

Mattison has 6 starts in his career:

Lions 3: 3 good games. Bad run defense
Seahawks: Good game. Bad run defense
Falcons: Bad game. Decent run defense
Rams: Bad game. Good run defense. TD saved his fantasy day.

Feasted against the Lions but struggled against the better defenses.

Why are people still doubting Pollard as a lead back? They also have a ton of depth, this would be surprising to me. They'd have to cut both Ronald Jones AND their 5'1" rookie RB.

Miami makes all the sense in the world for so many reasons.

- He's from there
- No State Tax
- Warm weather
- Best path to a starting job

This has to happen right?

No way he’ll land here…(KC)

Pacheco
McKinnon
CEH
Perine

NFC Landing spot will be where he goes.
I think that RB group is worse than Miami's.
Really? No way.
Achane>Pacheco
Mostert=McKinnon
Wilson>CEH

Hell, even Gaskin>Perine, if either even make the team.
Not agreeing with Achane for sure. Especially since I don’t think Achane will be used enough to be fantasy relevant

Really disappointed Kwesi couldn't get something for him in a trade. Overall I really want to like the guy and have been rooting for him but it seems like he continually gets taken advantage of by other teams whether with this latest example or some of his perplexing draft trade moves.

That price tag was prohibitive. Especially this late in the game, when other teams are mostly settled, and they knew they could cut him cheap after June 1st.

The writing has been on the wall since the second they signed Mattison for 2/7

Disagree, plus the backs in KC are sufficient for what Reid wants.

KC could totally use him. He’s better than the other 3 combined, though they do have Prince, I don’t think he’s quite ready for prime time. Cook would be plug & play.
It’s silly to think they couldn’t use him, He just seems like a Luxury. And assume he’d cost more than he’s worth to them.

Of all the teams that could use a reliable grinder to improve their chances at a ring, KC seems most able to afford it. They’re such a complete team they could easily justify restructuring someone to squeeze in a little cap space.

Cook would take a big load off of both Pacheco, who’s not the most efficient runner, and McKinnon, who’s 31. And he’d be their best GL/short yardage back immediately.

Supposedly they had an offer from Miami back in March and didn't take it. We'll never know for sure but thats the word. And he could always restructure.

Cook probably won’t cost much. Several teams that don’t necessarily need him can sign him as a luxury addition for a modest cost.
A one year deal for the best team seems like a decent plan.

Honestly, if I’m him and they are interested I’m on the next flight to KC. I just don’t think they need him as much as Miami or a few others like Washington, Tampa, saints depending on kamara. Heck, there’s speculation that the Giants go after him and drop Barkley.

Of all the ideas thrown out there, nothing would surprise me more than NY dumping Barkley to sign Cook.

Gotta love the off-season.

I saw these stats on a YouTube FF show. Intresting....

Lol They would have the oldest backfield in the league. I hope they have plenty of Geritol.

9News.com's Mike Klis reports the Broncos "do not appear in" on signing free agent Dalvin Cook.

The Broncos have only $6 million in cap space after signing DE Frank Clark. That would make it hard to fit Cook, who may be targeting a salary higher than Denver can offer. The Broncos expect to have third-year RB Javontae Williams (ACL) back within the first few weeks of the season and have a role planned for Samaje Perine, the Week 1 starter if Williams isn't ready. Signing a veteran to add depth that won't block Williams is more likely than Denver signing Cook.

I think I just felt my Javonte move a little bit.

Tom Pelissero reiterates what we've been reporting past several days: Dalvin Cook wants significant contract and is not taking 5 M... He's not jumping on anything in that range.. willing to wait awhile. That's why mutual interest with Fins, Cook isn't enough (yet).

Barry Jackson @flasportsbuzz
If no big offer materializes & Cook ultimately accepts team friendly Dolphins deal in July/Aug., it would be fascinating to see what they do with Mostert OR Wilson (who played well/McDaniel fond of both). Would be right to do right by them and deal 1 to team where they could play

If Cook isn’t willing to take a pay cut, then he’s not going to be playing football this year IMO.

For one, it’s awfully late in the year for teams to have that sort of room in the cap. For another, the NFL is moving away from high priced RBs.

Saquan’s situation in NY should be a flashing sign to Cook that he’s unlikely to get a massive payday.

In 2023 it’s not disrespect. It’s just how teams roll these days.
