RB De’Von Achane, MIA (1 Viewer)

Adam Koffler
The Achane discourse out of Miami has been weird

He’s reportedly fine but also still not practicing, but apparently the media knows this? Like, they know his return to practice schedule?

Does anyone actually trust McDaniel here? Are we blind to the fact that this could be bad?
It does sound concerning but they don’t officially start practicing for week 1 until next Sunday.

All that said, I don’t trust McDaniel at all and made sure to reach a bit last night to grab Gordon in my keeper league where I have Achane.

I am stoked to hear this as long as it's not "rushing" him back too early. If he is truly dealing with something potentially sinister than I'd hope they give him some more weeks off and be 100%. The recent CMC calf scare has crushed peoples fantasy expectations for Achane.

However if he is ready for week and nothing is lingering, then congrats to those who got Acahane at a discount on draft day!!!

Now that we all know he's a lock to play week 1, are you moving him up your boards in ppr? If so, how early are you willing to draft him?
I believe he’ll play. I own him in my main league. . . But I wouldn’t call it a lock he plays. . . He hasn’t practiced yet. . .

Just last year, all preseason, all we heard was CMC is fine. . . He’ll play week 1 . . . Then surprise inactive. . .

Bingo. Nobody here knows.

A "lock" is rather strong. Myself I wouldn't adjust him at all. He was an early 2nd rounder before the injury news. With that news he slid to mid to late 2nd. That is where I would still take him because there is no news that the injury is gone. He went 2.6 (12 team) in my draft last weekend. That seems right to me.

As far as I see it—it’s a win win regardless of if he plays the first week or two. If there were zero concerns about his health—we’re talking about a guy that is easily a mid-late first round value in ppr or half ppr formats. He’s been discounted for anywhere between 0.5 and 1 full round. I have him rostered in one league—and I would be totally happy with him playing—and I would also be completely happy with him missing a week or two. People were still drafting Rashee Rice pretty high knowing that he was going to miss somewhere between 4 and 11 games. I drafted Achane because I think that he has the potential to be a weekly difference maker when he plays—and I liked the discount.

They need to ke this guy off the field for as long as it takes for him to totally recover from this current injury and not risk an Achilles issue. I can wait for him

Tomorrow we should know more, still TBD. Injury reports come out tomorrow. I expect Achane to be questionable, Hill probable, Waller doubtful. Teams are very cautious with calf injuries.

>>As Mike McDaniel said, didn't see Ethan Bonner, Jaylen Wright or Dee Eskridge participate at Dolphins practice today. Tyreek Hill and De'Von Achane appeared to work off to the side. Didn't see Julian Hill or Darren Waller.<<

Took him at 3.01 in my last big home league draft last night. Had to squirm a little to pull the trigger but that's the latest I've grabbed him. Had been taking him at the 1/2 turn earlier in the summer.

That's amazing value for 3.01. Well done. Is he your rb2 then?
No he is my RB1 and hence I'm squirming a bit. I took Chase 1.01 and Bowers at 2.12 it is not TE premium but I thought he was great value as well. Harvey is my RB2 at 4.12. Sutton at 5.01. Two week 12 byes for my two starting RBs. Also grabbed Sampson, Blue, J Allen, Marks. Daddy likes rookie RBs. There are still a few I'm interested in on the wire, like Monangai who might be the new David Montgomery in a Ben Johnson offense, Hunter in LA but it sounds like Corum has #2 locked down, Giddens who I feel like I should probably grab before it's too late, and a couple others but I like the guys I grabbed quite a bit. Elite at TE, WR, took Fields/Purdy at QB so IDK there but I'm going to probably take advantage of Fields running stats at least until he is benched which I don't necessarily think will happen, and if Achane can be healthy this can be a championship team. We'll see. It was a fun draft. Salmon and tri-tips delicious.

Not a bad draft. To have Achane fall like that was nice knowing more info. Chase, Bowers, Achane is a heck of a start.

Yeah I like it and then I grabbed Egbuka and Pearsall to go with Chase/Sutton (and a couple late guys)
