RB Derrick Henry, BAL (1 Viewer)

Tough for any player to be relevant in an offense averaging 17 points a game. Not sure why anyone would start any Titan player at this point except maybe the D and K.

Finally dropped this turd through waivers last night in one league. Dropped him for Jalen Richard. Still have him in a few other leagues but it sure feels great to cut him loose. Will never draft him again.

I got hauled over the coals in this thread for comparing his ROLE in the past year or two behind Murray to that Buffalo RB who used to spell McCoy. I was only comparing roles, not skillsets ("He's a Heismann winner!! Are you crazy!!!? etc etc etc). Starting to think the Buffalo player whose name I can't even recall, was miles better than this turd.

I am considering dropping him in my keeper league.  I haven't needed to cut him yet (I have a deep bench), but I won't be afraid to.  He's just useless this year.  I could bid on him again if for some reason he has a much better outlook next year.

Unlike Alfred Morris, who I just dumped for Ito Smith, I view Henry as a hold because I have seen just enough of his ability to hope for a strong second half. Probably won't happen but I think he has too much talent to risk on the WW in my league.

Vrabel was involved in the gameplan this week. Coaches used boxing gloves in practice (seriously) .

Better late than never, Vrabel, LaFleur, and GM Jon Robinson all said they gotta get the running game going.

The offense has been awful so...I'm not saying they will, just that they are saying they will

You almost don't even want him to have a good game, because then you might feel obligated to start him the next 2 weeks where he goes back to screwing you.

Fantasy cancer this season. Great buy low next year, guy will be a 10th rounder+. He'll be on some people's DO NOT DRAFT lists completely.

Jalston Fowler was brought back. Not only a fan favorite but the top FB two years ago and top 5 three years ago.

He was Henry's college FB and is his BFF.

This shows more Vrabel tough football. The TE playing FB stuff is over. They're way better with play action and....might be the perfect signing and indicate good things to come.

With Fowler's ability to protect Fowler, they should also be able to shift Lewis more and not worry.

Interesting.   Not sure why a modern offense would want to emulate the 1990s, but we will see.

I love your eternal optimism.

Sorry though - a FB is not the key to this offense or Henry improving.

They need a QB that can make plays with his arm.

I'm still a believer in Henry's talent but he's in the Larry Johnson mold and needs to pound and wear down defenses with 20-25 carries a game to be effective. That's not happening in this offense and it's a shame considering they have two young pro bowl OT's on the o-line. He needs a new team and a fresh start at this point. Vrabel's/LaFleur's Patriots-lite offense is a square peg, round hole fit for Henry. I don't own Henry in any leagues this year but was hoping his name would've been brought up as a trade deadline candidate. Dude needs to break free from Vrabel.

Ironically he would seem a perfect fit for the 2018 Patriots. I'm gonna go ahead and say if Cordarelle Patterson is running off tackle come January the Pats won't be hoisting another Lombardi ...

Well the Titans have a way of not playing guys and so you're left wondering without the results. Taylor has like one decent pass per game and there's been a zillion WRs like that.

They've barely run this year and if you ignore Mariota and the token run for 3rd and 1 it makes it hard to evaluate.

Throw in a new coordinator that somehow cant utilize two of the best tackles and ya just come back to the notion that coaches would love to have their tackles and there's probably someone that would say they could run all day with them or pass all day and...its frustrating.

We suffered thru years of struggle to have the talent on this roster and...its Browns like.

I'd fire LaFleur and Vrabel too if the moment was right. This playoff winning team looks like the Browns of years ago. We gotta be patient and wait for this staff to develop...that's a losing phrase. Its all frustrating

Vrabel raved about Fowler and the impact he has had on everyone. He and JRob talked that it's like they brought the heart of the team back. They spent a full contact practice this week and it was a great choice. Everyone was hitting- a real good practice.

It's a fullback not the ghost of Vince Lombardi.

Hooray for them. They need a coach that will give the ball to Henry.

I have been able to confirm that Mike Mularkey has been advising the Titans rushing offense for 3 weeks or two games. Expect some articles soon.

I don't know how you differentiate rushing or passing or ...that's literally all I've got. I guess you'll have to wait for articles for more

Sounds like a train wreck

And it seems Henry needs a fullback to clear the way for him to be most effective
I'm sure that will solve everything. I drafted Henry in one dynasty (own him in 2), and first it was Demarco Murray in his way, now it's Dion Lewis. I'm getting fed up. I'm seriously doubting myself thinking Henry was going to be featured and be a #1. He's just not playing good enough to beat anyone out of the job, and the team is doing him no favors by not giving him a chance.

Derrick Henry rushed six times for 27 yards and one touchdown in the Titans' Week 9 win over the Cowboys.

He also caught both of his targets for five yards, his seventh and eighth catches of the season. The six carries marked a new season-low, as Dion Lewis set a new season-high with his 19 and 23 touches in total. Lewis has flipped the script the past few weeks and taken over as the No. 1 back by a wide margin. Henry has scored touchdowns in back-to-back games, but it's clear he's now nothing more than a short-yardage guy. Henry is a bottom-barrel RB3/4.

Dion is clearly the lead back with Henry serving only as a backup.
Which is weird.  Because all off-season, every story, every factoid, every single moment was captured in this thread and spun positively toward Henry in the most creative ways imaginable....

sigh... while happy w/ his TD, right now, I'm not that thrilled I traded a 1 for him earlier this season.  I really needed the RB, and am 7-2, so the pick is mid round at best... I guess there's still plenty of "hope" time left.

Is Henry a decent buy low? was thinking of offering a high 2nd for him. Not sure if it's a waste though.

I was absolutely right about Dion this year but Henry is such a beast it's hard to see him withering to nothing

I'd sell in a heartbeat for a high second. My guess is offer will be accepted in under 30 seconds.

The Titans tried to trade Henry at the deadline. I believe he's likely to be moved in the offseason which would be ideal.

I'd look to buy Henry if the price is right. If you own him, my advice is to stand pat unless it's part of a bigger deal where you upgrade or get a stud at another position.

I agree with @tombonneau. I’d sell instantly for a high second.

I didn't hear this. Was it a verified report? It just seems so unlikely considering how cheap his contact is for 2019.
