RB Derrick Henry, BAL (4 Viewers)

Is this offensive line just as bad as Tennessee last year? No one seems to be talking about it.
OL coach died this morning. Not sure how that will affect the unit.
Wow, only 70. That's awful.

I suppose this could be the kind of thing where the OL (And team as a whole) rally and perform exceptionally well?

They aren't predicted to be terrible. I think 15-16 in most pre-season OL rankings. That's much better than what he had in TEN.

A nice moment where Big Jeff acted like Henry was still there while coming out the tunnel. Henry retweets it and ...good bro stuff teammate stuff

I can't see him being run into the ground. He should do very well, but I think RB 8-10 is about right.
If be curious to know which 7-9 RBs you think will finish ahead of him
Not hard to guess - the ones getting drafted before and slightly after him. CMC, Hall, Bijan, Barkley, Taylor, Gibbs, Etienne, Williams
Every one but Etienne I could agree with.
Why not ETN? And shouldn't Pacheco be added to the list?

I love Henry this year. Especially in anything less than full PPR. He’s gonna eat early and often. Only pause is the downgrade in Ravens O line. What - Titans had a terrible o line last year? If Gus freakin’ Edwards can get double digit TD’s this guy is getting 15. I have zero doubt about that. Can you say that about Barkley? Taylor? I like him better than many getting drafted earlier.

Have a good feeling about the Henry as well. Took him as my RB1(19th) overall in a full PPR league. Would not be shocked to see 20 TDs.

I'm hellbent on taking an RB with my 1.03 pick in PPR and Henry keeps slipping to me at 2.10. Very, very hard not to take him.

His situation is so vastly improved. If he remains healthy, he's going to score a boatload of TDs.

In the mocks from picks 3 & 4 he kept falling to me in round 2. In the real drafts he never did.

Mocks are a playground for people to try the things they'd never do in real life...
Like letting the potential RB1 slide to the end of the 2nd round.

I wonder how much no preseason games matter? 13/46 (1td) no receptions. Did the Ravens ease him in? Or was this game script?

Playing the reigning champs and never took the field with a lead. And the offensive line still working out the bugs. They'll have plenty of games against lesser teams and might even have a lead to protect at some point this season.

There will be better days. This is kind of what we thought though. All the ground game is him. Air is hill. He did get 2 targets just didn't bring them in. But the TDs is what we're here for. He will get every carry inside the 10 all year long.

The line was terrible tonight. thats the important takeaway here. I saw Henry get hit in the backfield and bounce off to gain some yardage a handful of times and I never even saw the whole game due to some issues with the kids I had to deal with. but I thought Henry played well. The line, on the other hand.... absolutely terrible. completely dominated by the KC defensive line. That doesnt bode well...... although we should also understand that KC might be the best or second best Defense the Ravens will face all year long. so it's not necessarily doom and gloom. dont panic. (not yet anyways)

I think this was more about the rust from the whole offense. The penalties were ridiculous. The receivers seemed to struggle to get open. The playcalling, at times, seemed a bit off. The KC defense is pretty good at flowing to the ball, though. I would not be discouraged, but the one thing that bothered me was the game script. Henry seemed to be more out of the game as they fell behind. Justice is the pass-catching back, which matters for a lead back in PPR. Henry will have monster games, but he will also have games like this. The game script could be a big factor moving forward and a nightmare for fantasy managers.

He looked slow and lost a half step which is crazy given how ripped he is

I think he’s a latter day bettis type on the stat line now, I still like him for a floor of 13 TDs but that will be the extent of his impact

Could be TD dependent, but I may be being premature. We all knew Jackson is the Ravens' RB, but the Chiefs wasn't the best matchup for Henry.

I think it is clear that Henry's skill set is ideal when the QB is behind the center. Unfortunately, the Ravens are a shotgun offense because that's ideal for Lamars skill set. Can Henry adjust? Don't know. In the end, he might simply be limited in that offense to short yardage monster. Lots of tds though. I will say when they were in those final drives they would show Henry on the sidelines watching and he didn't look thrilled to simply be watching.

Seemed like a floor game for Henry. Other than the OL, also hope to see more pitches and gap schemes with Henry. Once he hits full stride there's still no one like him in the NFL. Always been amazed that a guy that big is such a homerun hitter that rarely gets clipped from behind. If he looked slow to some people tonight, good, I'll try to trade for the guy. He'll have better games for sure.

That couldn't have been the game plan. Either LJ wasn't processing the passing game or KC was taking it away. Not worried - yet.

I can just never understand... if I had a franchise QB locked up for years my 1st round pick would just constantly be O-Line.. O-Lin, O-line, O-Line. I see it all the time, these teama draft a stud QB and then just expect magic to happen in front of them

He had some runs where he looked strong and fast enough.

The offensive line is just a disaster. It'll probably improve to an extent as the season moves on. But I worry it's a bit of an issue all season.

The offense they seemed to want to run last night was quick hitters to the pass catchers. Screens and quick outs to Flowers. Quick passes to Likely. Dump offs to Hill. That doesn't fit Henry.

The Ravens played from behind last night, which limited his chances. He'll have better days. But like I've said for a while now, I think Justice Hill continues to be a thorn in his side all season.

I certainly wouldn't panic or make any moves. But I think the upside is going to be lower than some were hoping for.

Those worried about the O-line, aren't you also worried about Hill? He looked good in his role.
That's not going away either.

Absolutely.

I've been beating the Hill drum for a while now. Harbaugh said they view him as a starter. Obviously, Henry's the #1. But Hill is going to be in on nearly all passing situations. He's going to see some touches in the run game. He adds an element of lightning to Henry's thunder.

I've said all off-season, I don't think the Ravens are giving Henry 300+ carries. They want him fresh and available for the playoffs. They hung with the Super Bowl champs in a game where Henry only got 13 touches. They don't need to run him into the ground to make the post-season.

It's 1 week. Maybe game factors caused them to turn to Hill more often than they will in the future. But I think Hill continues to be a thorn in the side of Henry owners everywhere.

Shaky OL, not a great fit in shotgun heavy scheme and we all knew he’d be a spectator on passing downs/hurry up.

Not great.

TD’s alone don’t do the trick. Who was dying to start Gus Edwards last season?

He’ll be a better best ball option when you don’t have to predict the weeks he gets TD’s.

I predict if you remove TD’s he won’t average 10 PPR fantasy points a game. Of course he will score TD’s, probably a lot, but it’s not going to be enough to support his ADP.

He’s an uptick from Gus, but more sizeable in physical stature then fantasy production

All the penalties did not help either.

How often do you expect the Ravens to be playing from behind? Sure, they’ll have 2 minute drill type situations like all teams do. But I think they’ll have far more “run the clock out while moving the chains” situations.

I don't know but it's not like they were down more then 2 scores at any time. This excuse is falling a little flat for me tbh.

 feel free to sell your shares if you have any. I’ll keep mine.

Gladly only have one but it's not a league we can trade.
