RB Derrick Henry, BAL (3 Viewers)

Amazing how different the team looks when they play Henry like they're supposed to
It takes incredible in-game discipline to stick to the run and also use Henry in those specific ways. A lot of times when things go wrong that's when Henry gets scripted or phased out.

However, hopefully this is a sign of things to come!

That's what he is. Volume volume volume, and RYOE keeps rising and rising with each carry...if they give him 20 carries a game it's bad news for any defense.

I sat there in deep thought, on the clock, looking at Jacobs or Henry. I was concerned about Henry's age a bit. Was concerned about Lamar taking some red zone rushing tds. I took Jacobs. I am here to say that was a mistake. I apologize to my fans.

He looked slow and lost a half step which is crazy given how ripped he is

I think he’s a latter day bettis type on the stat line now, I still like him for a floor of 13 TDs but that will be the extent of his impact
Update ?
:lmao: I was as surprised as anyone, such an odd runner, plodder but I'll say I was wrong, he clearly pulled away from D backs so he's got a gear in there.

For me the same thoughts ran through my head. Except my choices in the second round were King or Etienne.

I had the same mid-2nd choice (I liked Henry in Baltimore). I hardly think Jacobs is a error, though, so don't feel bad yet. It's still a long way to go!! Who knows which one will provide in week 14.

I read this and thought for a second (in this thread no less), who is King? How much wine have I had that I can't remember someone who was drafted in the 2nd round?? Figured it out though and poured another glass. :lmao:

Awesome game from him tonight. I wasn’t worried at all after week 1. Baltimore is a team that is very committed to the run and his “floor” games will be in really negative game scripts when they get down big—which probably won’t be too often. He’s a guy that even in those instances—I expect him to get 10 fantasy points as his lowest floor (a touchdown and 40-50 yards). I don’t know if I could name 2 or 3 rb’s that I would want over him right now—even in PPR formats.

Next Gen Stats
Derrick Henry forced 7 missed tackles and gained +119 rushing yards over expected against the Bills, the 3rd-most RYOE in a game since 2018.

The Ravens have generated +27.6 EPA on designed runs this season, more than double any other team.

Absolutely a HOFer. Seems likely to end up in the top 6-8 all time in rushing yards before it's over, and that's a conservative projection.

I was asking the following question to all my friends at Buffalo Wild Wings today because it looks like he's on his way to becoming the latest to do so:

Who was the last player to rush for 1,000 yards in a season once they turned the age of 30?

And we couldn't figure the answer out. I don't think there's that many that's done it, but it looks like Derrick Henry is about to join that elite company. For the record, I'm trying to figure out how many times EVER has a player rushed for 1,000 yards in a season past the age of 30. If someone could figure out the answer, I'd really appreciate it.

Off of the top of my head, I’m pretty sure that Emmitt Smith did it once or twice, and I’m pretty sure Frank Gore had one or two big seasons after he turned 30.

Next Gen Stats
Derrick Henry carried the ball 24 times for 132 yards and 2 TDs while generating +34 rushing yards over expected.

This was Henry’s fourth game of the season over +30 RYOE, most in the NFL. Only one player had more such games in all of 2023 (C. McCaffrey, 5).

Raheem mostert last year.

According to the historical data dominator, it has occurred 51 times since 1960.
