RB Derrick Henry, BAL (3 Viewers)

They were stupid a week ago and barely gave him work and lost. That'll work like a lesson for them and he'll get his from now on. Vrabel did same. It's so very ridiculous it defied logic.

I saw that interview with "me MVP? No Lamar is." then "yeah man, so happy for DeAndre" I couldn't get over how blissfully happy he is. Like he's a little kid at a birthday party or...I mean it's beyond just happy to do well. It's so wonderful to see.

They should have signed 100 CBs and Safeties. Their pass defense is so bad I feel like I'm watching a team of destiny until someone throws for 400 on them in the playoffs. Why didn't they trade for secondary help? It's starting to bug me as I root for Henry and Lamar

Denver loaded up the line in the first half. After getting torched by Jackson through the air, the Broncos had to back off in the second half and Henry went wild.

As for the second bolded quote, they did trade for a DB. They've also been pretty banged up back there all season and many of those guys are coming back healthier now.

Baltimore's bigger problem on defense is that they can't consistently rush the passer.

According to all the data, BLT faces the toughest run defense schedule down the stretch. Cause for concern or just keep running with it. Or is because those teams haven't faced BLT yet? haha

I must have missed a trade.

They got Tre'Davious White. Who knows if it works out, but that's who they got. They went after Lattimore, but looks like the price was too steep.

Oh yeah

What are your options if you’re concerned? Saquon is the only player I would consider trading him for and I doubt the other owner would be interested.

I’m in a super flex and I need a QB desperately as it’s the highest scoring position by far. Was looking to do a 2 for 1

Didn't work

They got away with it barely again last night. I don't think Balt wants to get behind or try to hold a small lead. They want to get ahead and stay ahead with the run. Hopefully the coaches get back to it next week

Next Gen Stats

Amazing how different the team looks when they play Henry like they're supposed to

Hey look they misused him today, gave him his lowest # of carries all season, and they got an L to show for it. Go figure.

Completely dominated a hot Broncos team, and made it look easy. So, once again, "amazing how different the team looks when they play Henry like they're supposed to"

And now this week, give him only 13 touches, let Lamar complete fewer than half his attempts, and take home a loss.

It's not that hard, Ravens.

Can’t be a beast every week

Especially with zero (0) touches in the 4th qtr of a one-score game. 😵‍💫
This is what I don't get from Baltimore. Close game, Henry is a home run hitter once he wears a defense down and they play Justice Hill 100% for the 4th like they were down 20.
Not to give the coaching staff any credit but Baltimore had two drives in the 4th quarter.

The first Lamar ran for 25 yards and then threw a pick.

The second drive was a touchdown drive where they were low on time and played hurry up down 8.

A little bit of credit to the Steelers defense and offense who controlled the clock and played it pretty perfectly to their advantage.

Agreed. So, Henry should have been plenty well-rested for that 2-pt try. I mean, he looked comfortable... on the bench.

I'm a Steelers fan by the way so I was happy with him sitting there.

Probaly very true. I actually didn’t get to watch the game. And don’t own Henry. So I was just checking the box score.

And trying to give a fair and biased opinion on the 4th quarter carries.

Something happened in the 3rd Quarter. I don't know what, but there was a shot of him on the sidelines and he was royally pissed off. Maybe at an injury, maybe at the coaches, maybe at something that happened on the field - but he was an unhappy chap.

Tough schedule to close out the season, on paper. But didn't seem to have any trouble getting going vs the Chargers. Maybe these D's are rated so high because they hadn't faced Baltimore yet?

I remember in that Steelers game him being upset with himself that he fumbled, but I think that happened in the 2nd quarter.

Henry gets 24 carries, grinds down a good defense for 140 yards and they win going away. Seems like a simple plan.

He had a nice TD too and a penalty brought it back then Jackson ran it in instead ... he'd have had 160 and 1 TD if not for that :(
Been sore as could be over that sequence of plays. Ended a teams season of mine were I needed a team to lose that had Lamar -10 vs Henry entering the game and they ended up winning by .45 points with that play being about a 13 point swing.

I know, I know. :ptts:

I am sure this has been addressed 1000x, but what is the meaning of the finger pointing to a t-shirt?

Really old thread where a guy was selling a t-shirt with a bunch of fantasy whining/excuses on where if something bad happened to your team you could “point to the shirt”.

It became a legend/meme of sorts around here. (Did memes even exist then?)

The link to the actual shirt is in the thread below if you need to see it.

Should be getting more OPOY talk.
Barkley has him beat though. Great year regardless.
I'm not sure Barkley should. Henry has a slightly higher YPC, despite a much worse OL. Its nitpicking between 2 elite players, just feels I don't know, like Henry isn't getting enough credit to me. Then again, I think Henry is the best RB of the last 20 years, and a future HOFer, so its possible I'm just a little defensive for the guy.

We'll see how Barkley does tomorrow. If he rips off another 150yd day, he'll have maintained his lead. Would be hard to give it to Henry over Barkley when they both play the same position and Barkley has better stats.
