RB Dud’s!! (1 Viewer)

The departure of Arthur Smith.    How concerned should we be about this when assessing Henry's outlook?   The Derrick Henry fantasy football narrative completely changed when Smith became OC in 2019.

I kind of figured Vrabel was smart enough to get someone in place to run the same things that made that unit successful, and that talent would carry the day.  But that wasn't the week 1 I was hoping for to put my mind at ease.
Good take here...  This is a real thing that has already happened to the Oakland Raiders. Todd Downing replaced Arthur Smith this year. Downing took over as OC in Oakland replacing Bill Musgrave who helped lead the Raiders to the playoffs.  The rest is history.

Wiki:  Downing was fired on January 1, 2018, along with head coach Jack Del Rio and the rest of Del Rio's staff after dropping from 12–4 to 6–10 due to a major regression of the offense.

Believe me, I was glad Mixon fell to 2.12, because I was reasonably sure I’d be rockin CEH as my RB2 paired with CMC.
CEH fell to me at 3.01, so he IS my RB2 paired with CMC.  14th RB off the board, which is exactly where I had him ranked on my board.  If he stays healthy he should at least finish RB14 - no huge boom for my roster, but he shouldn't hurt me either.  In the early rounds, safety first.

I get the argument that CEH was not the best choice for the Chiefs in that draft, but I really don't care about that at all - I'm a Bills fan, so the more mistakes the Chiefs make, the better.  On these forums I only care about how many PPR points a guy is going to rack up for me this week and ROS.

you seem to have me mistaken for @rockaction. I’m a CEH believer & have him in dynasty.

I’m glad Mixon fell to me because I think he has more upside as a centerpiece of that offense.

The Chiefs are less interested in a balanced offense. But if CEH were there for me instead of Mixon, I would be rostering him in redraft this year.

I don't think anybody, including myself, is going to get on you for that. What happened in dynasty, though, if you had the 1.01 and were going Edwards-Helaire, that was the travesty foisted upon many. That's really where my beef began, and continues to be with him. I traded out of the 1.01 and wound up with 1.06, 2.04, and 2.07. I botched those picks, and I'd almost be better sitting with Edwards-Helaire, but such is life.

In retrospect, the other guys are all banged up or underachieving for the most part, but as part of a historic RB/WR class, he was lacking.

Count your blessings you got Mixon. He's gonna be the fantasy MVP this year. I would have had Joe except right when my draft started the news about Ekeler missing practice hit. This pushed Joe up one pick before me because people were passing on Ekeler. I took Ekeler at pick 20. I didn't want CEH and I couldn't guarantee Montgomery falling to me in the third. I took D Adams with my first pick and didn't want to be thin at RB this year. I figured Ekeler missing practice was more precautionary.

I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit flustered when Mixon went right in front of me. He ruined me last year and will surely haunt me this year. Please tell me everything is gonna be alright!

I had to spell “eight” because the number doesn’t work on my computer.

This wasn’t in order f awfulness.

What's wrong with the "o" button?

I thought you did it because "8 ) " (with no space) makes a little cool guy face when you type it in here.

Yes, I would certainly agree, taking CEH at 1.01 in Dynasty would have been a mistake.
