Lower body, thought I saw him wincing a little bit and limping on a series prior go Walton coming in.Anyone know what injury Gio has? I didn't see anything during the game but I was flipping channels a lot.

Giovani Bernard (knee) is active for Sunday's Week 10 game versus the Saints.
Bernard has been sidelined since Week 4 with an MCL injury. He and Joe Mixon have played just two games together on the season, with Bernard totaling just 12 touches for 51 yards in those two games while playing 40 percent of the offensive snaps. Bernard could be a part of the game plan in the receiving game against the Saints, but he is a risky RB3/FLEX option.
Nov 11 - 11:38 AM
Giovani Bernard said the Bengals are "really buying in" to new coach Zac Taylor's playbook.
"We have to play for each other," Bernard added. "It's not about the stats, it's not about how many plays I get. I just want to go out there when my number is called and make the play." Bernard was merely in on 36.3 percent of the team’s offensive snaps in the 10 games he played behind Joe Mixon last season but reportedly lined up all over the field in a myriad of formations at offseason activities. 28 in November and entering the final year of his contract, it's still likely Bernard splits late-season backup reps with Day Three runner Trayveon Williams, who’ll reunite with the very same offensive line coach who helped the rookie amass 600/3,615/34 (6.0 YPC) rushing and 66/561/1 receiving as the Aggies’ lead back at Texas A&M.

The Athletic's Paul Dehner predicts Giovani Bernard will see 11-13 touches per game in 2019.
"I think you’ll see much more of Giovani Bernard," Dehner writes. "I think there will be more of Joe Mixon and Bernard out there together than you have [seen] in recent years." Bernard averaged a career low 7.6 weekly touches last season with Mixon taking over as a true workhorse. Mixon will still be the obvious top dog in this backfield, but getting Bernard the ball more in space would be a smart move by new coach Zac Taylor. Dehner's prediction may be a bit ambitious, but even 9-10 touches per game would be enough for Bernard to be at least relevant in fantasy.

Uh Mixon is a stud like Gurley and Gordon. Put him in either of those offenses and he would be in consideration for the 1.01 pick. Not sure what you are smoking on "Bernard is the better player" but please send some my way.I think Bernard is the better player and the right team will utilize him. Send that boy to Pittsburgh.
Bengals took a huge step back drafting Mixon. Unless you have a stud like Gurley or Gordon, hard to build your team behind a 3 down running back.
You win in the modern NFL by featuring the RB in the passing game. All the winning teams are doing just that. Satellite backs all over the place.
Then you’ve got Joe Mixon and the Bengals. He’s just going against the current.
Bengals signed Giovani Bernard to a two-year, $10.3 million extension.
Bernard was in the final year of his contract. It's a solid deal for a back that's had a declined role the last few years. Bernard should have a larger change-of-pace presence behind Joe Mixon this season. He's now signed through 2021.

I imagine he grew concerned after seeing his two rookies go down to injury (losing one for probably forever). Gio probably does not have much more FF value than he did last year however he is a good veteran/leader that can contribute immediately if need be.Interesting move with Gio. Been a solid pro his whole time with the team, though. Excited to see what Taylor has up his sleeve.

Giovani Bernard caught 5-of-7 targets for 22 yards in the Bengals' Week 2 loss to the Browns, adding a three-yard carry.
His passing-game advantage wasn't quite as pronounced as Week 1, but Bernard still out-targeted Joe Mixon 7-4, out-catching him 5-4. Mixon did out-gain him 40-22. Bernard's lone carry appeared to be a four-yard touchdown out of shotgun late in the third quarter, but upon review he was ruled down at the one-yard line. The Bengals are holding back their offense by refusing to commit to Mixon as a three-down back, but there is no reason to expect Bernard's usage to change for the time being. It is not enough to carve out PPR value.

Nope but he is this week.
curious where he gets ranked this week. FBG currently has Mixon at the RB18 spot, so I think Bernard probably lands right around there in the RB15-20 range.. (not as good as mixon, but less carries lost to the backup than mixon and a bit of a ppr jump).Vroom Vroom![]()
Maybe a bit... but wouldn't pick him up even in deep leagues. Will Trayveon Williams get any action? On film, he looks like a younger version of Bernard.
The only reason I mentioned Trayveon is because his scouting reports mentioned competent to excellent pass protection and good hands.Williams is a hail mary. He has never had a carry in the NFL. Perine might see short yardage work. I think to the extent they run the ball it'll mostly be the Gio show.

Oh he is absolutely worth mentioning. Just noted that the Bengals tweeps I follow didn't give off the vibe of heavy carries coming his way. But surprises have happened before. The only reason I mentioned Trayveon is because his scouting reports mentioned competent to excellent pass protection and good hands.

Anything is worth a shot I guess. But this seems like wishful thinking. As annoying as Taylor has been with his lack of updates in some misguided attempt at gamesmanship, I don’t see Mixon owners (at least the smart ones) going for a panic move like that. Week 10 was always the likely return date for Mixon given how the bye week lined up. If it was any more serious than that he’d already be on IR (wearing a boot, etc.).Any Gio owners have any luck trading for Mixon? I feel like this is a prime opportunity.
Cinci bye week is next week. That's potentially two more weeks Mixon owners don't have him. Maybe more since there is an unknown here in terms of injury severity. Mixon owners may be thinking Lisfranc, season ending injury, etc. and may want to get out now at any cost.
I'm thinking lessor RB (say a Perine type flex play) and a solid WR. Could be wishful thinking.
Any luck out there?

Giovani Bernard rushed 15 times for 62 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' Week 8 win over the Titans, adding three receptions for 16 yards and an additional score.
Fantasy managers got what they came for, but Bernard did cede 11 touches to Samaje Perine after having the Bengals' Joe Mixon-less backfield to himself in Week 7. Bernard was thankfully more efficient today even though the Bengals were missing four offensive line starters. With the Bengals now headed on bye, Mixon will probably have a good shot at returning from his foot injury in Week 10 against the Steelers. Fantasy players desperate to clear a roster spot can gamble and drop Bernard during the bye.

Giovani Bernard rushed eight times for 30 yards in the Bengals' Week 10 loss to the Steelers, adding four receptions for 17 yards.
Bernard actually got out-gained 55-47 by Samaje Perine, handling the rock just four more times than his journeyman backup. Nearly half of Perine's handles came deep into garbage time, but with game flow negative from the jump, Bernard never had a chance to stack up touches. He also did nothing to help the Bengals to sustain drives, with Joe Burrow and company turning in a horrid performance on third downs. The Bengals badly need Joe Mixon (foot) back, but he didn't seem all that close to playing this week. Bernard will remain the clear-cut starter if Mixon again sits for Week 11 vs. Washington, but he will be a touch-based RB2 instead of plug-and-play RB1.

I wouldn't say I'm super excited and expect RB1 numbers, but he's a warm body at RB I can put in the flex. Why is he so unexciting to me?
I have a feeling there going to involve the other guys a good amount. That might be part of it.
Because he's not a good RB. That doesn't always matter for fantasy, but it does make his ceiling a bit questionable. Why is he so unexciting to me?

Next couple weeks are awesome is an understatementI wouldn't say I'm super excited and expect RB1 numbers, but he's a warm body at RB I can put in the flex.
Next couple weeks a couple of good RB matchups as well.
I could see Perine getting some touches, but why wouldn't he if Gio has to now act as the lead back for at least three more weeks.
I think he'll get the volume necessary to be an RB2 or flex at worst in PPR.
I'll take it.
Not sure if I'm going to use him tomorrow, but such a delicious run coming upNext couple weeks are awesome is an understatement
Giants, Dolphins, Cowboys can only help you get into the playoffs
Not sure Dolphins are the cake matchup they once were. That said, its still very favorable otherwise, and Miami isn't Pittsburgh.Next couple weeks are awesome is an understatement

that's a surprise - didn't hear anything about it during or after Sunday. I'd have to consider him very questionable for this week.Did not practice today due to a concussion.
