RB Jarquez Hunter, LAR (1 Viewer)

Kent Lee Platte
Jarquez Hunter was drafted in round 4 pick 117 in the 2025 draft class. He scored a 7.17 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 598 out of 2106 RB from 1987 to 2025.

New Rams running back Jarquez Hunter had the 2nd-highest explosive rush rate (10+ yards) among FBS backs with 150+ carries in 2024.

That skill set will be a welcome addition to a Rams backfield that had the 4th-fewest explosive rushes in the NFL last season.

Rams 4th round RB Jarquez Hunter had a 278 yard rushing performance last season against Kentucky

McVay stated “He clearly has a competitive stamina about him. When you give him a vertical seam, he can run away from you. Some of the metrics we have on him are really impressive”

Josh Norris
This is why the Rams drafted Jarquez Hunter

a favorite of many out there. Was Auburn's entire offense. Breaks a ton of tackles. Battering ram. No gloves. No nonsense.

Jarquez Hunter is arbitrage Bhayshul Tuten in dynasty rookie drafts

Explosive big play runner with 4th round capital surrounded by 2 talented rbs & could make some noise this year

Only interest to Williams and Corum owners right now, but down the road he could figure more into fantasy relevance. Not someone you want to draft if you're an instant grativication type of person.

Definitely an under the radar guy given the state of the Auburn program over the last few years, but I always thought he ran tough and had a bit of Ray Rice to him.

Sean McVay offenses ask a lot of RBs when it comes to protections and reads. Its a tough offense for a rookie to come in and succeed in.

I'd be shocked if Hunter threatened Corum for the #2 job this year and wouldn't be blown away if he didn't even pass Ronnie Rivers, and just played ST.

I would be somewhat surprised if the Rams didn’t give Hunter consideration by the end of the year. He looks to be more explosive than Kyren and the Rams may need to have further information if they want to resign Kyren and if so at what cost.
Corum should get play time as well as part of that assessment.

Rams had Hunter at the top of their draft board entering day 3 ahead of the other backs and players who went before him. They traded up to get him as well.

I have to admit that I'm not that excited about Hunter, but I got him late in a league where I have Williams. I believe the Rams like Corum too, and while I like Hunter OK, I feel he may just be a roster clogger for now. Down the road? Who knows. The way end of bench players get cycled out, he probably won't even be on my team by the end of the year, but I'll stash him for now.

I have Hunter in a group of four RBs who I think all have a chance to hit eventually based on landing spots/situations more so than draft capital. My goal is just to come away with one of them in every league, most likely whoever falls the furthest/is the cheapest. I'm still a firm believer that most of the day 3 RBs this year would pretty much be a round higher just about any other year.
