For those keeping track of official scratches, Bob Kraft's recent comments would pretty much put NE at a 0% chance of drafting him. (Not that they were high up there anyway.)

If not for the domestic violence issues he would most likely go in the first round ahead of Cook and teams are probably debating between him and Fournette who the best RB is. While me wanting to draft him is not an endorsement of his character, I will take a chance he doesnt do something so stupid again and not hold it against him for my fantasy football team purposes. I suspect he ends up with a rookie draft average draft slot of 6.5 when he should be a 2.5.

It took me a while but I think he means his average draft position will be sixth/seventh overall instead of second/third overall (where it should be if not for his transgressions).

That is correct, I thought the 2.5 was very clear what it mean when you talk about average. I also misspoke earlier, I understand its not domestic violence and typed that more or less out of habit for violence of men against women. However you slice it, he hit a woman on video and thats bad for business. Domestic violence or assault and battery upon a woman is very bad and its why his stock is down.

I thought he meant 6th round 5th pick, instead of 2nd round 5th pick. I would be surprised if he made it past pick 7 in many rookie drafts.
What?! A team who picks for the first time at pick 72 won't take him? Huge news! He could/probably will be gone by then. I'd be a bit surprised if he lasts past the Lions in round 2. Their GM sounded like he was in love with Mixon's potential.

Should I not take into consideration that people know better than to think Mixon will drop to the 2nd round of rookie drafts on a site like this? Are some things just not obvious? I hope that some things can be assumed while posting on this forum, like that all of us are aware enough to know he it a Top 10 pick. To be clear, Mixon would be a Top 2 or 3 pick in fantasy draft, still may be in some but because of his transgressions he may fall to 6 or 7 in the top 10 on average in rookie drafts.

I agree with the premise that this is lying season in the NFL. The one thing that leads me to believe that it would be unlikely that the Patriots would take Mixon even if he was still available at their pick is that the statement came directly from Kraft and while Mixon's incident was not domestic violence it was still a very high profile violent incident with a woman.

The Patriots are of course even more sensitive to high profile players involved in violent acts after the Aaron Hernandez incident, and while that one had nothing to do with violence against women it was an example of how quickly the Patriots cut ties with players involved with these types of character issues.

Ok so you meant 6 1/2 vs. now 2 1/2. No one uses 6.5 to indicate 6-7 on these forms. 6.5 means round 6, pick 5. And no, you shouldn't assume we think you know what you're talking about, I rarely assume that of people on these forums. Have you never visited the Official Dynasty Trade thread?

Some people think he will drop to round 3 of the overall draft, so I can see some people thinking he would drop to round 2 of rookie drafts. Some people are so idiotic I don't even try to start to wonder why they think they way they do

IMO he should be within the top 3 picks. If I had 1.01 I'd strongly consider it, but I am letting emotion cloud judgement. All depends where he lands. If he lands in Detroit then I'll stay away

I think at the end of day, he gets drafted by the Vikings, steelers, Cowboys, someone who sees the value, but his FF value will be limited to start.

Would be a waste of a pick for Dallas or Pitt, since they have no need at RB. No point spending a 2nd round pick on a player who does the same things as your starter. We've seen stranger things in the draft, but those two wouldn't be at the top of my "most likely destinations" list.

If he went to the Saints and if we tentatively assume he becomes their feature back would this bump him to top 3 in rookie drafts? Would you take Mixon as a Saint at 1.01 vs Fournette as a Jet? For example. Cook as a Colt? I could see Mixon climbing FF rookie drafts for sure.Faust said:

I'd take him over Cook regardless of anything. I can see a case for taking him behind Fournette if Fournette is something like a top 10 pick and Mixon slides far enough. In terms of their actual skill sets though, I think Mixon is the #1 RB in the draft. The value of his versatility and receiving could be immense in PPR leagues. Situation doesn't even matter much. Pitt and Arizona weren't great situations before Bell and Johnson. Same with Forte and Chicago. A back with this skill set can become the focal point of the offense anywhere.

Ownership is very active on the subject of violence against women. Goes back to the Christian Peters draft and subsequent release and Krafts late wife Myra. They arent choir boys with respect to most things but thats a big one with them.

...and using Aaron Hernandez as a way to show that the Patriots would not stand for "bad behavior" is an odd stance. I mean by the point they dropped him he was already being sought out by the police for a cold blooded murder.

I agree. As a Lion fan (if I remember correctly) would you be good with Mixon round 2? Would you like his fantasy potential with the plethora of RBs they have? I ask because I think this is his most likely destination

I think the Lions have about the same number of RBs on their depth chart as any team. I don't find it particularly talented. Mixon would clearly be the best talent and the others would rotate in occasionally.

This seems a little unnecessary, We have gone from going after decimals to now I'm someone because of embarrassment. All I wanted to talk about was Joe Mixon and his ADP. People decided to make sure it wasn't domestic abuse, and then went on to attack decimals and now a tone and being an embarrassment. Where is the Mixon talk, do you even want that or are peopel here to argue BS? I hope this gets better. I'm actually fairly new to the football discussion boards. I find it striking that some can assume people are someone else rather easily, more than what 2.5 and numbers with decimals in ADP means. If I post here before I would know not to bring up decimals.
Telling someone explaining what others admittedly did not understand what I was saying? Maybe people who get upset at others over decimals should tone it down. I have done nothing offensive. I would suggest some people are just really angry on these sites much like social media.
