RB Josh Jacobs, GB (13 Viewers)

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Josh Jacobs was “spotted this morning boarding a flight leaving Las Vegas” and that the veteran running back “doesn’t plan to return anytime soon.”

Jacobs has yet to sign his franchise tag and appears unwilling to play on it at this time. The 25-year-old back is in search of a long-term deal after leading the league with 1,653 rushing yards in 2022. Given the current state of the running back market, it seems unlikely the Raiders will be coming to Jacobs with a long-term extension anytime soon. Ameer Abdullah is listed as the backup to Jacobs on the depth chart, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see second-year back Zamir White handle a bigger role if Jacobs were to miss actual game time.

This physical departure from Las Vegas ... How meaningful would you all say that is? He was already indicating he could sit out training camp anyway.

Where should Zamir White rank relative to the crop of rookie RB's? Prior to today, I would probably have grouped him with the 11-14 tier of rookie RB, possibly into the 9-10 tier. Should today's blurb move the needle?
 
Raiders have the perfect RBBC blueprint in their division for Abdullah/White in KC. Except for that little not having Pat Mahomes thing.

Jacobs turned down a $12 million offer from the Raiders last month. There are rumors the Raiders could rescind the franchise tender if they don’t trade Jacobs, making him a free agent and taking $10 million off the cap. With the sides not close on a long-term deal, a trade may end up the most likely outcome for last year’s rushing champ.

Not trying to be a ****, just legit curious: does Florio have any credibility with reports like this? The only mentions I've seen of these rumors all refer back to Florio, and it just doesn't seem likely.
 
problem is, the usage of Jacobs last season, as with other mega-used RBs, doesn't typically carry over to the following year, historically speaking. he could go to the absolute best situation, but it doesn't seem likely that it will amount to a hill of beans. RBs with that many carries in year N1 do not produce lofty stats in year N2.
Zamir White is a potential target in LV.
 
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports unsigned Raiders franchise player is expected to report before Week 1.

Vincent Bonsignore’s report is via “multiple league sources.” Although this was always the most likely outcome, this is the first actual indication we have it is indeed Jacobs’ plan. Unsigned, Jacobs hasn’t lost a cent during his “holdout,” but that would change in drastic fashion were he to remain away from the team in Week 1. Although late-camp reports have something of an inglorious fantasy history, last year’s yards from scrimmage leader would remain a no-brainer RB1 if he’s out there Week 1 against the Broncos.

I’ve got some good news and some bad news for you, Mitchie.

First the bad news: this Jacobs “news” that has you feeling so optimistic isn’t news. Unsubstantiated rumors from anonymous sources passed along by hack beat writers are worthless at best. These are the very same beat writers who reported over and over again last off-season that the coaches had soured on Jacobs and planned to take away most of his touches. Was that “news” helpful?

And now the good news: Jacobs is heavily incented to report and can only not report at tremendous damage to his wallet and career. So unless he lets his wounded feelings and ego take over and makes a terrible career decision (which is not impossible) he is going to eventually report

Hopefully the Raiders react like a boyfriend who isnt giving his girlfriend the attention and love she deserves , then suddenly another guy starts giving her that attention and they get reinterested .

Josh Jacobs situation isn't really an issue with the Raidersit's an NFLPA vs. league issuefranchise tags are a much bigger restriction on career earnings of RBs compared to other positionsRaiders are being prudent in the system, and Josh is trying to highlight it's failures

Swooped him myself last night as the 12th RB off the board in the hopes that this would happen. Booya!
 
So Taylor is the last one left every other hold out player is back and those in drafts got steals because people always over react

Seen him go in in the 5th round in some high stakes drafts too bad I wasn't in those ones.
 
Do people view this as Jacobs slotting right back to what his ADP would have been without this holdout? Because I'm still worried. I recall hearing some stat about how holdouts tend to result in statistical declines even if they're resolved before Week 1. IIRC at least some of that is due to higher incidences of soft-tissue injuries
 
I pick 12th , if hes there at the turnaround hes mine. They will run him until his legs fall off and he may be playing for a new team next season so hes showcasing .
 
Matt Harmon at Yahoo fantasy hesitant because Carr was willing to throw deep and Jacobs was running against light boxes last year due to D. Adams. Apparently Jimmy G not the downfield thrower carr is so Jacobs may have tougher sledding this year.

You like him over RB's like Chubb, Pollard, and Henry. Most of the time a couple of those guys will be there.

i would grab one of those others if there as well ...but id love to have Jacobs
 
Josh Jacobs rushed 19 times for 48 yards in the Raiders’ Week 1 loss to the Broncos, adding 23 yards on two catches.

Jacobs was bottled up for most of the day, managing a long of just seven yards and averaging just 2.5 yards per carry. That said, his 21 touches to just two for backup Zamir White tell the whole story as the veteran back continues to be utilized as one of the only remaining workhorses left in the league. Better days are likely to come.

that O-line has been atrocious the first two weeks of the season. Jacobs is definitely the ultimate buy-low candidate this week
 
Get right game this week! Mattison did pretty well even when he tried to give the ball away. Jacobs should eat against this porous run D
