RB Josh Jacobs, GB (36 Viewers)

I can obviously say and feel this way rostering Wilson on my Jacobs team. Id prefer him to play it safe and sit one game. Jacobs is a tough dude. It's tricky though. Let's say is he active. Anyone see 20 touches? Would anyone be surprised if Wilson had more usage if Jacobs active? If he is active I may start Wilson. Hmmmm

If Jacobs is active you have to play him unless you have ridiculous depth. You could hedge your bet and play both. Especially if one of your flex options is mediocre.

How much FAAB would you drop in a Super deep league?

I'm in Scott Fish bowl, playoffs are starting this week, I need someone to fillin for a bye week. I have 54$/100$ left and tempted to just blow it all. Gotta survive at this point, ya know. Gonna suck if Jacobs plays, but it's not like Waivers are bountiful.
I would spend it all. Who in the hell has the playoffs starting with bye weeks still to go? Isn't that kind of dumb?
For the SFB playoffs, you get your weekly score plus your season average so as to offset the bye weeks.

Once you hit the playoffs, it's you vs the rest of the field with the bottom xx% of teams being eliminated--similar to how the FBG Subscriber contest runs all season. You just have 11 weeks of H2H first.

But yeah, I threw all 54$ out. He went for 75$. Woof.
I did manage to get Bigsby for free as a stash in case anything happens to Barkley the next few weeks. Which sounds like who cares, but there aren't a lot of backup/handcuff RB's on waivers either.

I have another re-draft league where I have to run the table and need 2 other teams to lose out to back door my way into the playoffs.

I spent my remaining 41$ to get Wilson, and won the bid there. I figure if I lose, my season is over. And if 1 of the other 2 teams get him and manage to win, my season is over. So, I have him. Hopefully he gets a start or 2 and can help my cause.

I might be minority as Josh Jacobs owner.

I didn’t even feel the urge to pick up the backup here.

Maybe I’m overly optimistic, but if it is a contusion I expect they get the swelling down in time for him to play.

Risky to pass on the backup yea, but he has been proven to be tough.
Wilson has shown the ability to produce in that offense. Don't think I would sleep on him one bit.
My biggest concern is they reduce Jacobs' workload because Wilson has been so effective.

Yes it's dumb but with balanced schedules it kind of has to happen if you want to keep the balance. We countered it by having the first round be two weeks cumulative score. Plus if you want to avoid it earn a bye. Everyone was aware prior to the draft of the format so if you wanted to account for it in your draft you could.

It would be really dumb if you didn't know until right now.

Too easy to find leagues that suit what you want and that wouldn't be one of mine The beauty of choice.

I'd be fine with that. Personally, think he's been overused between the 20s. As long as he still gets the lions share in the RZ

Long time leagues that had to do something thanks to the stupid NFL for making bye weeks this late into the season. Nobody likes the situation and that was the best alternative to still keep our basic structure while helping to minimize the impact.

I do like the idea mentioned above about giving an average score for the bye players to some degree as a mitigation. I probably like that best with the combo of a two week first round.

“The plan is to try to get him healthy enough to go,” LaFleur said. “It’s just going to be a day-by-day thing. He is truly day to day, and we’ll see how he progresses as the week unfolds.”

and now he is back at practice albeit limited, but its strange it sounds like he could do more pending how he responds.

Luv that he feels well enough to practice. Would luv it more if they shut him down for one week just to be safe - even if overdone, dude has been a workhorse, and an extra bye week could do his body a lot of good as the Packers head into the stretch run of real football. Their actual bye was week 5, and they are looking at another 2-3 months if they have a playoff run.

While it's a divisional game this weekend, it's against last place MIN, with two games against first place CHI still ahead. This is a game where they may not even need Jacobs to win, and worst case if they lose without him, the much more key matchups lie ahead and the team would still be within striking distance of both division and wild card spots.

None of the above applies if he's suddenly feeling great by Saturday. Somehow, I doubt that though. Get rested, if you need it, Josh!
