RB Kenneth Walker III - SEA (1 Viewer)

And I got attacked for saying this guy disappears at the worst times. He's almost useless unless you play best ball. #NEVERAGAIN
13.9 in PPR is "disappearing"?

My thought too. He's RB23 right now with Monday game to go. We had him ranked RB18 so a little under expectations but not terribly.
So he’s not a wildly inconsistent and oft-injured player, or is he?

From my experience, he’s a team killer based on where he’s drafted.

I was commenting about this week and 13.9 in PPR as "disappearing".

In my opinion, I wouldn't call RB 23 or so when he was projected as RB 18 as disappearing.

Yes, he's been up and down. But it feels like he has company there.

I call it disappearing. 🤷🏻‍♂️ And now he’s gone again. Poof!

Understood. We just disagree there. I definitely don't call 13.9 points and RB 23 "disappearing".

Curious, where among RBs would he have had to rank this week to not be called disappearing by your standards?

SMH. Walker was stuffed multiple times on the goal line. He left a bunch of fantasy points on the field. I don't play PPR. It's stupid a player that played so poorly would be rewarded for it (IMO), but that's neither here nor there I suppose. He got hurt (again). His game to game variance is insane which was my original point. Are you just being sensitive? I wasn't attacking your rankings here like the Nabers thread if that's what you think. Walker had 8 catches for 28 years. Yes, he disappeared in this one and does so multiple times per year. He hurt his NFL team in this game regardless of how many times Geno dumped the ball to him underneath, and he likely killed his fantasy teams the entire year. Will he win you a week here and there, yes. His skillset is tantalizing. Yet, ask his owners how they feel about him this year. Most likely didn't make the playoffs.

Kenneth Walker was 7th in PPG and 14th Overall (with a bye week) after Week Twelve this year. Yeah, he got hurt like almost every other running back does (I think the average games missed by an RB is around ~2.5 or so).

I wouldn’t call 13.9 PPR points disappearing. Breece Hall just had 14 in the semis, and I didn’t consider him to have disappeared at all. If anything, Walker reappeared too soon because he injured his ankle, which I assume is related to the calf that he was out with.

Guys get hurt. Guys play hurt, which I’m pretty sure he just did. He sucked it up for the Seahawks. He averages about 17 a game. He’s RB12 in that statistic. When are you drafting him? Maybe that colors it.

How many games was he unavailable? It matters. Further, the majority of his points were scored in 3 weeks. Week 1, 4 and 7. Having a few big weeks is fine if you perform well outside of those. Walker doesn’t. Most of his points were scored in 6 weeks. Weeks 1, 4, 6, 7, 9 and 11. His week to week inconsistency is a killer in H2H. He was taken as RB12 in my main non-PPR. Low end RB1.

Not getting hurt and punching in one of his tries from inside the 3 would have been a start. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Again, I don’t play PPR. He had a terrible game by NFL standards.

Do you realize how badly you do NOT make sense?

I didnt watch the game but knowing now he had goalline chances to score and failed does vex me terribly. I lost by 3.5.
He had one chance and it was from the 3 yard line after he picked up 4 yards on the previous run. The carry from the 3 yard line was the run he got hurt.

To each their own but that seems kind of nuts to blast him for not converting a TD on his one carry from the 3, especially when he's running behind the worst interior blocking in the entire league.

Sorry you lost, but I'd be more vexed about him getting injured and exiting a little early as the reason for not getting you those points, not for failing as goal line runner.

Walker is their best runner but the offensive line is offensive to watch. be fun to watch him with some men up front.

Walker is only 3 months older than Charbonnet and was drafted one year earlier. Walker is a UFA in 2026 and Charbonnet is a UFA in 2027. They probably won’t pay both, so it will be interesting to see which one gets a new contract with the Seahawks.

Probably neither. Will be a new coach and GM by then.

So why start over at RB when you have Walker and Charbonnet? That doesn’t sound like a good team building strategy. One will stay, one will go. Probably resign Charbs and let Walker walk since he is a UFA first.

Will have to pay one of them. Why not draft one with less mileage.

Yes, sign one and draft another. That’s my point. One has to go.

I'm just saying new coach, new GM have no loyalty to either guy who will be 2 years further with injuries and mileage. Why wouldn't they draft a new one unless one of them is willing to stay for cheap. Both will want to test the market at that point I think though.

Why do you think they will have a new coach and GM after next season? I sure don’t. I’m of the belief Schneider made a homerun HC hire and secured both of their immediate futures.

Just the way the league goes. Geno is not a long term solution and will get the coach fired. They will keep falling short of the playoffs and turnover is inevitable.

Ok, appreciate you answering . Don’t agree though and would be shocked if either of them was fired next off-season.

Looks like KW3 has performed better than most have thought. From The FF Newsletter:

Kenneth Walker in 2024:
• PFF’s 2nd highest-graded rusher this season (91.2 Rushing Grade – behind only Derrick Henry).
• 4th in broken tackles (61) despite ranking 28th in rushing attempts (153).
• Top-10 in Elusiveness Rating (113.5).
• Pacing for a career-high 81-target 17-game pace.

Looks like KW3 has performed better than most have thought.

I believe it. I roster him in dynasty and when healthy, he’s been a beast. Through Week 12, with a bye and two games missed, he was still RB12 overall. Then he got hurt again.

Bad year for injuries. I hope it’s not the beginning of a decline, but otherwise it’s great to have him in the lineup when he plays (even head-to-head). His variance isn’t that bad at all.

Drafted Damien Martinez. Feels like preparation of KW being a FA after 2025.
Sea drafted Martinez in the 7th Rd. Not sure that screams replacement for KW. I believe Martinez may be better than his Rd. 7 Draft Capital, but he will be in a fight just to earn a roster spot.

It will fly under the radar that Walker was the RB12 in fantasy points per game last season. Unfortunately, his season was cut short by injuries, but if Walker can stay healthy in 2025, he could finally put it all together with a top-five running back season. Walker proved last year that not only is he still one of the best pure rushing talents in the league, but he is also a true three-down back with passing-catching chops. Among 45 qualifying backs, Walker ranked third in first downs per route run, sixth in target per route run rate, and sixth in receiving yards per game (per Fantasy Points Data). Add all of that on top of leading the NFL in missed tackles forced per attempt and ranking tenth in yards after contact per attempt, and Walker could be a league-winner in 2025.

There is no question he is fantasy gold if he stays healthy but that is a big if. He had multiple different injuries last year. He has that "dancing" style of running sometimes and I wonder if that's why he gets injured so much.

It's a contract year for him, so maybe he'd be more likely to suit up even if banged up?

The O line should be a little better mostly because there is not much room for them to be worse and they did address in the draft. But Walker had a dreadful Yards before Contact stat last year.
