Unfortunately for Walker owners (e.g., me), Charbs looked pretty good yesterday. I dunno if it’s because he’s finally over that foot injury from earlier in the year or the AZ defense is just terrible, but he wasn’t plodding around per usual.

He did look good yesterday.

To be honest, not really. Look, I'm not alone. Plenty of others including many experts out there are also dumbfounded by the usage.
Without question Walker is the better RB.

I love Kubiak and his dad. They have produced some fantastic stats with RB's far, FAR less talented than Walker. And Charbonnet to be fair.
The truth is what they are doing has been working. They are winning games despite the lack of a great running game.

As many of you have said, they aren't going to change it now. So, yes, Charbonnet is the better fantasy player. In no way do I believe he is the better back.

Sounds like there are a lot out there like you who misunderstand how to measure effectiveness in a RB. There’s a whole lot more to it than deep speed.

Just because I can't help it, YTD:

Walker 120 carries, 539 yards and 3 TD's. 4.5 YPC.
Charbonnet 94 carries, 313 yards and 6 TD's. 3.3 YPC.

Walker has also been targeted more, etc.

I know you'll fire back with situations and who gets what carries, etc. We have a difference of opinion. That's fine.

If you exclude all carries inside the opponents' 5 yard line (since those carries supress YPC), Charbonnet's numbers are 79 carries, 280 yards, 0 TDs (3.4 YPC)

Walker and Charbonnet each have 1 TD from outside the 5 yard line, Walker hitting one from 19 yards out and Charbonnet from 6 yards out. Why Walker isn't using more inside the 5 is beyond me, considering he showed capable of scoring those goal line TD's too (2 of them against the Saints when Charbs was out with injury).

Defining "short yardage carries" as a carry inside the 5 on any down, as well as 3rd/4th down and 3 or less anywhere on the field, here are their conversion rates (IE converted carry inside 5 into a TD, or converted 3rd/4th and short into a first down).

For their careers Walker has 78 short yardage attempts, Charbs has 64.

Looking at the numbers closer, it actually gets even slightly worse for KW3 as his best year was his rookie season, and he's been trending downwards since then. But even KW3's best season in conversion rate is worse than Charb's worst season.

It's been rough. Drafting the Rashaad Penny replacement in 2022 only to see the Kenneth Walker replacement get drafted a year later. Knew Zach Charbonnet would be a problem for fantasy eventually, and here he is doing his best Mike Tolbert impersonation. Not so much this past week, but has been for most of this season. I hope whoever takes Walker next offseason lets him be the guy.

Edit - Walker hasn't missed a game so far this year, knock on wood, so I know at least for IRL purposes what the Seahawks are doing is working. Just sucks for fantasy.
