I love how Pac Man Jones is in the story, willing to bet 100K on Burfict.

God, how does that guy still have money? I figured he'd have spent it all by now at the strip clubs.

He signed a $52mil contract with $35mil guaranteed after that holdout.

Think it did his career just fine myself.

He was toast and didn't earn a penny of it and would have gotten nearly the same from Pittsburgh.

That year of lost earnings comes into play. He didn't get paid that year. I'm not sure what the actual numbers were, but he didn't "win" by that much.

Also, Jets gonna Jet. I hated that signing and took **** in my own team's thread for hating that waste of money. What a ****ing joke.

I think he was toast when he started the holdout and has been ever since. And he knew it. He knew stepping onto the field, and removing all doubt as to how much he had left in the tank, before signing a big deal was a bad move.

Played it well. The best of his career was long gone. Made basically all his money after it was 'finished'.

No way is this guy currently better than Harris or Warren.

This is a bit sad. It's weird when the fans know you shouldn't hold out, and you do and ruin your career in the process.
I was reading down and saw you posted this and was going to say there are people who actually exist who still defend his holdout but I now see a defender has already arose.

But yes, he made the dumbest decision any player has made in the last 10+ years and every off-season when we hear question about if so and so player will play under the tag or not I roll my eyes because of course they will, dumb decisions like Bell's are generally learned from, not repeated.

I'll be sure not to post next time dude. Apologies for offering an alternative opinion.
You are welcome to having a different opinion. I was simply trying to point out to Rock that while most of us think Bell made a horrendous mistake it's not universally agreed upon and there are still people who would argue he made the right call.

Depends on what you consider the right call. All RBs now need yo try and maximize whatever value they have bc the league is treating them like disposable players. Lev Bell may have "smelled" this starting to happen and got his when he could.

LOL. I like your posts, but don't play martyr here. Nobody is getting on you personally. I took your comment in the right spirit. I think meno did, too. I think it's more exhaustion with the topic and the never-ending back-and-forth about Lev Bell and his contract situation.

If you remember back in the day, that was a hugely passionate and long thread.

Anyway, keep commenting for sure. I think you took that maybe not in the spirit it was intended. Peace.

I'm not re-litigating Bell's decision to give up $15m. If you and others still want to justify it or think he made the right call more power to you.

Not about being treated as disposable.

Every position has a certain value. The RB position has the least value and have become the easiest to replace. That is why the pay scale is less than other positions.
