No. A second? Yes.What's his dynasty value looking like? Would any of you trade a 2021 first for him?
Most people will say a 2nd. If you're rebuilding I guess that's fine but if not I would hold or ask for a 1st. He's ceiling the second half of this season is really high. What's his dynasty value looking like? Would any of you trade a 2021 first for him?
Where do I sign up? I would love to sell off any overrated, depreciating, assets in your quest for glory! Can you play in all of my leagues please?
As the CEH owner I was just offered Bell for Godwin or Fuller. No way for me.For those in leagues where Lev Bell was sold, what are Lev Bell owners getting in return?
As A Jets fan I can't fully agree. KC has scored one rushing TD so far this year. My guess is that they get a lot more than that by the end of the season. If he gets 80% of those plus some passing game work every week I see him as a solid RB2. He was decent at the goal line in limited opportunities with us.As the CEH owner I was just offered Bell for Godwin or Fuller. No way for me.
Don’t want to sound like a jaded CEH owner but I think it’s a low probability that Bell is a good start going forward. He just reduces CEHs value.
Agree. Its possible you dont know who to start any given week between ceh and bell.As the CEH owner I was just offered Bell for Godwin or Fuller. No way for me.

For Fuller, I would take it and run.As the CEH owner I was just offered Bell for Godwin or Fuller. No way for me.

Bell may very well not be that relevant, but there's also a decent chance he is a solid RB1......As limited of a resource as RB's are and Fuller in the grand scheme of how deep WR is.....seems like a no brainer to me.For Fuller, I would take it and run.
Agree that RB is always a limited resource.Bell may very well not be that relevant, but there's also a decent chance he is a solid RB1......As limited of a resource as RB's are and Fuller in the grand scheme of how deep WR is.....seems like a no brainer to me.
It’s a fair point, if you are dynasty Bell is a 10 game Kareem Hunt followed by another FA and potential Shady McCoy treatment. Chance card vs community chest. Fuller is an injury prone WR2 and is young. Roster makeup and winning window may applyAgree that RB is always a limited resource.
To me Fuller is a solid WR 2/3 who most weeks will be in the starting lineup in a 3 WR starting lineup. Short of a CEH injury I don’t see Bell’s upside as more than a low-end RB2 with the most likely outcome as a RB3.
Bell's upside is RB 1. Not a RB 1, but the top back. Even splitting time, I expect him to be a high end RB2.Agree that RB is always a limited resource.

Some element of just getting a malcontent away from the team was probably at play but mainly had to do with wanting to avoid Bell suffering an injury of a magnitude it would guarantee his $8M salary next season. This was also cited as a reason a lot of teams did not want to trade for him as they'd be taking on that risk. What I don't get is why if the Jets said "Sure, we'll eat 100% of Bell's salary if you give us a 7th round pick for him", there were no takers. Since the Jets are now eating 100% of his salary, correct?
So if you trade for him and he gets hurt, you're on the hook for 8 mil next year (and not the Jets)? And since he was cut, that contract no longer applies to the new team? Some element of just getting a malcontent away from the team was probably at play but mainly had to do with wanting to avoid Bell suffering an injury of a magnitude it would guarantee his $8M salary next season. Agree to disagree......KC didn't sign Bell to ride the pine, and Fuller has been hurt most of his careerAgree that RB is always a limited resource.

I am having a bit of Deja Vu here as this same scenario happened with the Chiefs last year when they signed McCoy after Buffalo parted ways with him. I had McCoy and I remember thinking I hit pay dirt when he went to KC.
Nope.
Now the circumstances of this are different. While McCoy still looked good at times with KC he wasn't taking care of the football and other things a veteran knows better, but he chooses not to do.
Both of these RB have been elite at times of their careers. But its possible Bell has more left in the tank at this point of his career than McCoy did last year. Just looking at the numbers he was terrible running the ball with the Jets. 245 carries at 3.2 ypc does not resemble what he was doing with the Steelers and 245 is a lot of volume. I get that Gase is a poopy head and I would not put t past him to sabotage his own team and players by not giving Bell a optimal chance to showcase his abilities. As some have mentioned the play calling tendencies being too predictable as an example of that. So maybe that is not all Bells fault.
As a receiver Bell still did very well with the Jets. So that ability does not seem to have faded. It is different than McCoy who the Bills just felt they had good enough players to replace what he could do. Bell is only 28 years old right now while McCoy was 31 last year when he joined KC.
This is pretty much my thought process. It's going to be a coin flip as to who to start on a weekly basis.I am having a bit of Deja Vu here as this same scenario happened with the Chiefs last year when they signed McCoy after Buffalo parted ways with him. You have CEH too? This is pretty much my thought process. It's going to be a coin flip as to who to start on a weekly basis.
I have 1 share in my main money league. I drew the #8 pick in the draft that I saw Michael Thomas and AK41 go the two picks before me, and I'm a Saints fan. I went CEH over the likes of Henry, Mixon, Sanders, Adams, and Hopkins. Cook would have been my pick, but he went #4 which was higher than any mock I'd done. I envisioned the likes of Kareem Hunt his rookie year that won me $$$. This league only requires 1 RB and 1WR with 3 flex plays. I had an amazing draft and was able to snag James Robinson before the season. After this week, CEH will be in the mix for my 3rd flex along with Amari Cooper and Mostert. The Bell signing obviously sucks, but I have the luxury of picking between players who have outscored him since week 1. I just see a weekly hot hand in KC as I'm not a Bell believer at this point in his career, and he's won me $$$ in the past. Reid will use both backs. CEH has been serviceable. I've seen every KC game but one. I'm not sure why they aren't using him more in the pass game. You have CEH too?
I at least dodged that bullet. He has been too expensive for me since KC drafted him.
Its still early as far as that goes. Rookies tend to be better later on in the season. With no preseason its kind of like things are just getting started for them now.I have 1 share in my main money league. When Fuller plays he produces. Can't say the same about Bell over the past couple of years. Of course, that could change.Agree to disagree......KC didn't sign Bell to ride the pine, and Fuller has been hurt most of his career
Yes we will.Agree to disagree......KC didn't sign Bell to ride the pine, and Fuller has been hurt most of his career
Could not agree more.Pre-Signing:
CEH- RB1
BELL- FLEX
Post-Signing:
CEH- RB2
BELL- FLEX
If CEH gets hurt:
CEH- IR
BELL- RB1
The only reason Bell was brought in is because CEH isn't getting it done where a RB in KC is needed.....short yardage and the passing game....KC saw an opp to grab a proven guy......IF Bell is 75% of what he was in Pitt, he takes over the lead roleYes we will.
KC signed Bell for peanuts which makes it low risk for KC. Bell isn’t going to be featured barring injury and IMO if you’re relying on Bell in your starting lineup with CEH healthy good luck.
Le'Veon Bell's contract is worth $690,000 with an additional $1 million in incentives.
The Jets still owe Bell $6 million this year, so Bell opted for the best real-life landing spot instead of a possibly bigger pay day in Miami or Buffalo. For this little money, this was a solid mid-year signing for Kansas City while Clyde Edwards-Helaire makes rookie-year adjustments in pass protection and between the tackles. Bell will be eligible to return Week 7 and has some flex appeal immediately as the potential short-yardage back. Long term, touches between Bell and Edwards-Helaire will be dependent on how each back plays in the offense, but it'd be a surprise if this weren't a two-back committee of some sort.

Drake last year right?Who are the precedents in terms of high profile RBs getting drop-shipped onto a new team (off season let alone mid season) and being all that and a bag of chips? I can't think of any.
1 bench spot? Otherwise yes you burn it.... who else are you waiting for.Bell is on my WW in a 10 team redraft. I'm just not sure I want to burn a high waiver pick on him.
Burn it. The upside is rare and it’s week 6. We still have 10 weeks of footballScooby1974 said:Bell is on my WW in a 10 team redraft. I'm just not sure I want to burn a high waiver pick on him.
The fact that he is a running back due for touches on a top offense makes it almost a no brainer. Nothing is a sure thing but waiver rbs with that upside are rare as steelwind just said.Burn it. The upside is rare and it’s week 6. We still have 10 weeks of football
No. His upside is capturing 50% of the workload IMO. Not worth it and you will regret not having that pick next year.would anyone give a 1st rounder next year for Bell now? If you were trying to win this year? (probably a mid to late 1st)
I wish. At this point I would be thrilled with a 2nd.would anyone give a 1st rounder next year for Bell now? If you were trying to win this year? (probably a mid to late 1st)
I don't think there's any question about that - McCoy was 3 years older and had already accumulated a ton more touches. Bell is way better now than McCoy was then.I know the cool kids on fantasy twitter think Bell is dust but I kind of like him going forward this year and buying a bit in the Underdog ROS GPP. I think he has way more in the tank than McCoy last year.
Good points. I will dispute the bold. If a team traded for Bell, wouldn't they have to had taken on that crazy contract? I think there is a lot of room for Bell still being great and teams recognizing given his age and personality his value is limited.I don't think there's any question about that - McCoy was 3 years older and had already accumulated a ton more touches. Bell is way better now than McCoy was then.
The question now is how far removed is he from being FREAKIN' LE'VEON BELL. If NFL GM's still viewed him as being the All-Pro level guy, I can't imagine the Jets would have had to cut him, regardless of next year's salary cost. And possibly NFL GM's thinking "yeah, he did all that behind the Steelers o-line, but my team doesn't have that o-line." Also, Tomlin has historically been a One-RB-Man, while Reid has more history with running a committee.
I really think it will be a hot hand situation in KC. Either Bell or CEH could come out on top, but I don't see either one getting 80% of the touches once Bell is up to speed.
I think there's basically an out after 2020 with respect to the salary cap. That's why the Jets releasing him made little sense to them until you found out there was a clause in his contract about getting hurt and guarantees from that. Or something like that. But the main gist I remember is that his main cap hit was this year and very little the next.My understanding is if they traded for him, they could have got this year basically for free if they insisted on the Jets picking up the salary (which they now have to pay since they cut him). And there is one more (expensive) year at 8 mil for 2021 and then done. (I could be all wrong on this). The bonus money the Jets paid him all hits the Jets, both in the pocket book and on the salary cap. And if an NFL GM really expected him to be one of the top 5 RB's this year and next year, then I think they'd be happy to pick that up.
Of course with the salary cap shrinking next year, that number might have been prohibitive for some teams regardless of whether they though Bell was awesome or not. And some teams would say "We already have Zeke/Kamara/McCaffery/etc" so would never consider it any way.
There’s no guarantee Bell does anything to put you over the top. I think there’s a better chance you’d regret that trade.would anyone give a 1st rounder next year for Bell now? If you were trying to win this year? (probably a mid to late 1st)
While I wouldn’t trade a first for him, I also don’t think he’s done. It’s hard to describe just how bad the Jets offense is, and it’s well documented how Gase misused him.I know the cool kids on fantasy twitter think Bell is dust but I kind of like him going forward this year and buying a bit in the Underdog ROS GPP. I think he has way more in the tank than McCoy last year.
Bell’s 2021 contract is guaranteed for injury only. So if he gets hurt and isn’t recovered by the start of the new year, he’d be owed $8MM.I think there's basically an out after 2020 with respect to the salary cap. Not anymore it isn't, right? That contract is basically terminated.Bell’s 2021 contract is guaranteed for injury only. So if he gets hurt and isn’t recovered by the start of the new year, he’d be owed $8MM.
Those days have passed, especially now in a timeshare.Bell's upside is RB 1. Not a RB 1, but the top back.
