RB Miles Sanders, DAL (1 Viewer)

Free-agent running back Miles Sanders plans to sign an undisclosed one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys, sources tell ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Sanders heads to Dallas for the 2025 season after a disappointing two-year run with the Carolina Panthers in which he averaged just 3.5 yards per carry on 184 rushing attempts for 637 yards and three rushing touchdowns in 27 games (seven starts), adding 51 receptions (71 targets) for another 302 yards and a TD through the air. The 27-year-old lost the lead-back role to Chuba Hubbard in 2023 and played in just 11 games (two starts) in 2024 due to injury. Sanders could have a shot to see a bigger workload for the Cowboys after last year's lead back, Rico Dowdle, joined the Panthers in free agency. However, Dallas also brought in former Broncos RB Javonte Williams and could add to the position in what is a deep draft class. At best, Sanders will likely be involved in a committee.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

I don't see him being fantasy relevant, but if you must, go ahead and add him.

Yuck. Is there a chance that if Dal drafts a non Jeanty RB that this becomes a 3 headed mess at least for year 1?

I just bought him in a package for an additional 5th round rookie pick, cos why not?
I think we know what Sanders is at this point. That is why not IMO. Sure, a 5th is pocket lint territory and is on the waiver wire in several of my leagues and I won't be picking him up. Let someone else clog their roster.

14 team 30 man rosters. You pick up any RB on a team in this league. 2026 5th rounder from the best team in the league or an RB on a team with no obvious starter. I'll gamble, regardless of how large the odds against are.

Even in deep leagues like that I may be more inclined to throw a dart with a 5th round pick than roster Miles Sanders, but that may be just me.

The value is so minimal and low stakes it's barely worth thinking about.

But currently he's on a team, if I dropped him he'd get picked up for some FAAB.

If they don't draft anyone, and they have a lot of needs beyond RB, I could probably sell him for a 4th to the Javonte owner at least.

I'm probably a minimalist to a fault. So I hate rostering guys like this. I'm the type of guy who doesn't roster a bunch of these guys when rosters expand to 28, then go back down to 24 or 25. If I know I'll have to cut him anyway because of my draft picks. My philosphy is to not roster them. I know that can bite me sometimes, but i don't care. I'm the same guy who cleans up his inbox every day because I don't want more than one page of it.

I follow this philosophy also but sometime “dark horses” win the race too. Don’t we all think Sean Tucker is a worthy hold? White looks out and Bucky holding the reins… will Javonte return to form or was the injury beyond recovery & Miles gets significant touches ?
Balance of the Risk/Reward is my new design.
A late 5th for “potential” is worth it IMO. No different than Sean Tucker

I get what you are saying, but I think Tucker is more of a hold than Sanders, which we know what he is more than we do with Tucker.
