RB Nick Chubb, HOU (3 Viewers)

I laughed at a last minute trade offer before kickoff yesterday of Drake and James White for my Chubb. I still wouldn't want it but you can blame me for laughing at the guy, then five minutes later he goes down. ####.

You do have to wonder how effective he'll be when he's back, especially with a guy like Hunt taking over. Chubb might not see 20 touches in a game again this year.

I know you never bench your studs - but the next two weeks would have been very tough matchups for him, and his bye is in there too.  The other three weeks were great matchups, though.

That was with Chubb. Congrats if you're deep enough to absorb that loss.

I was really just implying in general, not specific to you, that I think it's funny that contending teams don't fill gaps in their roster because they just HAVE to hang on to "that" guy - even if it throws them OUT of contention.

6 weeks is probably the worst case scenario. Its typically a 3-6 week injury, so IR certainly makes sense. I think its reasonable to expect him back at the beginning of November.

As long as Chubb is fully healthy, I'd expect a pretty similar split. Chubb is simply a better runner than Hunt(or anyone else in the NFL) and there is a 30+ carry pie probably every week the aren't blown out. Really sucks that he's out, but I'd bet on Chubb being an RB1 the instant he comes back.

So, I guess that's my point... I don't expect Chubb to be fully healthy again this season.

Why? Its not an injury that tends to linger like a muscle injury. There have been plenty of players who were fine after MCL injuries that season. Hell, Russell Wilson played through one a few years ago. 

My guess is with the week 9 bye week, Chubb either dips a toe into week 8, or more likely comes back starting in week 10.

I'm not saying he isn't coming back. He'll be back, but he won't be what you've come to expect week in and week out. I bet he also has a high ankle sprain from the look of the film. Think Kamara of last season. He'll be playable, but not the same until next season. And, with a healthy Hunt, I don't see Chubb getting 20 touches again this season (in a single game). All bets are off come playoff time, of course. If Hunt wasn't on the team, it's a different story.

One thing to remember, they paid Hunt.  He is their future RB.  They might not have any issue running Chubb into the ground.  They just need him for this year.  

I do agree that I have real concerns that he is not 100% at all this year.

2019 Kamara, like 2019 Barkley, did not sit out long enough for his injury to heal.

Chubb is under contract through 2021.

That's why I hate high ankle sprains. You frequently see guys affected by that for awhile after they come back. MT and CMC are going to be interesting to watch in that regard.

I agree. It's a fool's errand to say what would have happened had he and the Saints, like Saquon and the Giants, operated with a reasonable timeline for their injuries. Their rushing back played major roles in their lackluster performance though. Patience is a virtue and I only hope the Browns, and Chubb, are smart enough to sit this one out until it's actually healed. If that is done then he should not be limited upon his return.

 
Crazy year of injuries

I've been playing dynasty since 2014 and don't recall a year like this. Do any of you old-timers recall a season similar to this one?

I'm a big fan of Chubb the player and person, so hoping he comes back 100 and takes the time needed to do so.

This and the crazy drama of COVID on top of it is insane.

But, I'm not going to lie... the part I love most about fantasy football is trying to manage my way through this mess so it's been somewhat entertaining.

Chubb has been great, but if those who have him on their FF rosters also have Hunt, they can likely handle the loss.  He will put up good numbers in Chubb's absence.

Almost traded Hunt last week, glad I didn't.  Still have Zeke as RB1, Hunt as RB2, J Robinson as RB3.  Looks a lot better than Zeke at RB1, J Robinson at RB2, and some combo of McKinnon/Mostert, Singletary as RB3.

Not so fun fact, only 3(Kelce, Ridley, Watson) of my first 10 draft picks are still playing.

I'm not sure this is the worst injury year ever, but its BY FAR my worst.

Honestly, you'd be fine with either scenario in my league... nice squad!

So far my Zealots team is currently down Barkley, McCaffrey, Chubb, Davante Adams, Godwin, Noah Fant, and his backup OJ Howard.  Just going to hang on and ride it out.

 
Curios to hear what trades Chubb owners would entertain from Hunt owners in redraft. I know it's a bit of a loaded question based on scoring formats and current record, but gotta think it would benefit both teams in this situation to own both. Each team would benefit.

The Chubb owner in my league has Edmonds. Wondering if offering Drake would be worthwhile.

I can't help but wonder if the groin injury he was dealing with played a role in that.

Not to mention the "OH SH**" factor of losing one head off your 2-headed monster backfield.

I don't think Drake has done enough to get that to process. For comparison, I'm contemplating offering Conner. Injury risk, but has put up numbers and already had his bye

As an owner of Chubb and Drake I can vouch for that. The Arizona running game has been just as terrible as Cleveland’s has been great.  Drake won’t fetch jack right now

 
Chubb has a grade 2 MCL sprain which is typically a 3-4 week injury. I expect he'll be 100% after the bye in week 10. I traded for Chubb today with an eye for the playoffs.

I'm not sure Johnson is a rush out and pick up guy, especially in bidding waivers. I'd rather have guys like Kelley or Harris for sure. If you have nothing else, its not the worst option.

I also don't know that Hunt will get 70% of carries. Its possible he was limited with his groin injury, but they might just like always having a fresh RB in there. Stefanski did that in Minnesota with Mattison, despite how great Cook was playing. That said, Hunt likely just went from 12-15 touches to 18-24. 

Its also possible the Browns become a little bit more pass heavy without Chubb, and with Landry getting healthier after offseason hip surgery.

 
Curious as to what anyone has gotten or been offered for Chubb in redraft leagues. I offered Chubb for Diggs, and Am awaiting a response
