RB Phillip Lindsay, IND (2 Viewers)

Never saw him play, but live near aurora where he played HS.

It was one week.  If it happens again, and the raiders @ 5280 on a short week doesnt hurt, he may push rb2.  I do believe freeman will lead the way barring injury.  Its all about snaps and touches for both.

And for those of u worried about durability, even on the smal side, check out his wiki page CU stats (in the decent pac12) for 2016-17

542 rush atts

2700 yds at 5ypc

Oh, and 76 rec for almost 800 yds more.

30+ tds

How he went undrafted is a mystery.
Because sometimes (actually a lot of the times in todays modern world of bigger is always better) scouts and GM’s look past heart, work ethic, grit, IQ, work ethic (did I mention work ethic?) determination, being a great teammate and competitor when comparing two players with equal talent physically but one guy is 5’9 190 and the other is 6’1’ 225.

You see it a #### ton in baseball these days. And baseball is a sport you don’t have to be big to be great (Altuve, Betts just to name a couple a guys who are MVP caliber guys).  Scouts get enamored with size but forget everything else. Hell my radar goes on red alert when I see huge guys playing baseball. Give me ball players. Not hulking monsters who don’t work out most of the time. Everyone is trying to sign the next Judge or Stanton now and letting a dozen Mookie Bett’s slip through their fingers. Hell Trea Turner did not make his freshman JV baseball team in Boynton Beach because the coaches told him he was too small. LMFAO too small for baseball? What a joke.

You see it in football too. This will be another example if the kid can get the luck of the draw with injuries (I say that because playing healthy in the NFL is a lot of luck....more than people think).

Keenum sucks.   If they could sustain some drives this kid could get his hands on the ball a bit more.

In on 3 and 1 near the GL, converts. In on 1st and goal. In on 2nd and goal.

Edit: Got carry on 2nd and goal, got taken down on the 1! Pulled for Freeman :(

Edit: Freeman stuffed on 3rd and goal.

Freeman has scored a TD in 4 of the 5 games he has played including preseason.  Lindsay has been good but Freeman is better.
Didn’t know just scoring short yardage TDs mean your a really good player. I do like Freeman but he has not been better then Lindsay

Denver has their Warrick Dunn; they just need to find their Mike Alston.

Edit: Alstott.

Not even close. Freeman is a plodder.  Lindsay is dynamic and the back to own.

:lmao:

I'm glad you guys finally see what I was dealing with. I got ridiculed all off-season in the Royce Freeman thread for suggesting that he was being over drafted and was JAG.

Their biggest argument for Freeman was that Devontae Booker was no good. Which always confused me.

I think you are way off base in your celebration.  The guy was named the starting QB on a decent team - tell me one that wasn't drafted round 4 or sooner.

Lindsay had 14 attempts for 107 yards. Only one target but he caught it for 4 yards.

Freeman had 8 attempts for 28 yards. Also only one target but no catches. He had a rushing touchdown.

Lindsay had 15 touches compared to eight for Royce Freeman and three for Devontae Booker as he was the first Denver running back to ever have over 100-yards from scrimmage in each of his first two career games in franchise history. Lindsay has built off a strong preseason to overtake a lead role in this Denver backfield, but still doesn't have a firm grasp on the goal line work, which will keep him as a RB2/FLEX option Week 3 when the Broncos head to Baltimore.

It's different with rookies. Like I've said before, if every Rookie is special then none of them are special.

Your question is a bit loaded. I can list the running backs that were drafted after him if that helps.

LeSean McCoy, Kenyan Drake, Lamar Miller, Derrick Henry, Jay Ajayi, Marshawn Lynch, Mark Ingram, Carlos Hyde, Dion Lewis, Tevin Coleman

So there was "no rush" for anyone to grab this guy. Then, you throw in the Non-RBs you passed on to get this guy:

Travis Kelce, Aaron Rodgers, Amari Cooper, Juju Smith-Schuster, Demaryius Thomas, Golden Tate, Brandon Cooks, Jimmy Graham, Tom Brady, Russell Wilson, Cam Newton, Evan Engram

All that and then an UDFA gets more carries and out produces him the first two weeks. Maybe I'm enjoying this a little too much, but read the Royce Freeman thread.

Those guys were MEAN to me.  :hot:

first UDFA to do  the underlined also.

Before the Seahawks win RW had all of 2 entries on PL:

Phillip Lindsay rushed five times for 31 yards and hauled in his only target for 18 yards in the Broncos' third preseason game.

Lindsay worked as the clear No. 3 back on Friday night, handling eight of the 33 snaps Case Keenum played. The undrafted rookie will struggle to create fantasy value behind Royce Freeman and Devontae Booker, but he appears to be next in line if something happens to either one.

Broncos signed Colorado RB Phillip Lindsay.

Lindsay (5’7/185) made 30 starts for the Buffaloes, breaking CU’s all-time record in yards from scrimmage (4,683) and logging a 765/3,775/4.9/36 career rushing line with 117 receptions. PFF College ranked Lindsay top 20 in the nation in both missed tackles forced (47) and yards after contact (809) in 2017. Still snubbed for a Combine invite, Lindsay blazed 4.38/4.41 at the Buffaloes’ Pro Day, also touching 35 ½" in the vertical. Lindsay offers kick return experience and has an outside chance to become a poor man’s Tarik Cohen.

Second week in a row and he's the best rb on the field for either team. And it's not even close. He was used as an every down rb again btw

Lindsey is the man.

I overdrafted Royce Freeman, believing he was the next great Denver RB.

wow I was wrong.

this crow tastes delicious. :(

yeah certainly looks that way for now. things can change but lindsay is the man
I thought 4.12 was good value.

Fortunately in the one league I have Freeman, I also drafted Gurley, Mike Evans, Tyreek Hill, Adam Thielen and Hogan within my first 6 picks, so somehow I’m surviving with 8-12 a week from Freeman.

But it still stings - I’m usually good at spotting value RBs. This one might be a swing & a miss. At least he was used at the stripe.
