RB Royce Freeman, LAR (1 Viewer)

I'm sorry but really haven't been following this thread, but can this dude catch?

sorry for the laziness on my part but you guys have the goods.

He has been a decent receiver.   4 year starter, 79 catches for 814 yards.

348 yards receiving his sophomore season.   Doesn't sound like he has Jordan Howard "frying pan hands".

He went in the 3rd rd in a main event redraft 12 team PPR online draft yesterday I was in.  Right there with the likes of Collins & Drake.

Too early to take him at 3.03 or pick 27 overall? He's not getting back to me at 4.10.

Just saw a tweet from Ian Rappaport who took him in round 2...

Buddy Valastro league # 20 FFPC-drafted Sunday morning 10:00 AM EST.  My team name "wales".
Ah damn, no my main event draft was at 7 PM EST that night. Freeman went in the 3rd sanwhiched inbetween Drake and Collins so I just assumed, although it's probably a common occurrence.

Had no shares so took him last night for $40 in a 16-teamer auction. That's equivalent to $30 in a 12-teamer, and around late 3rd value.

Paid a lot but I wanted a share this year and needed a RB2.

You're taking him at max value and assuming he capitalizes on all the opportunity (decent 0-line, good WRs/defenes to take pressure off, solid draft stock).

I wouldn't be passing on the WRs available at that spot in a PPR but Royce would be on my list of draftable players in a Non-PPR at the 3.03.

Man, getting him at 5.03 on Wednesday makes me feel good, now.
Same at 5.01 in a 12-teamee here.  :hifive:

this is why I believe 1 week before Labor Day weekend is the best draft time.

Still slight risk (see: McKinnon) but most of the commodities are known - and there’s still a little upside for those of us who do our research & take risks on undecided camp battles.

drafring mere days before the season after week 4, there are hardly any true value picks. The market adjusts to news, ADPs rise, and even the least researched manager will be aware of up & coming players.

We drafted between Thursday & Sunday last year in my IDP, after the TNF game - sure it was cool to get Hunt’s ~50 points week 1 with a 1.07 pick, but the Saturday before I too him in the 6th round as my RB2.

At this point folks are drafting Royce at max value as a RB1 or high end RB2 (while also waiting on WR). To be a good pick he’s got to hit his ceiling.

I was also in on Casey Keenem league # 25 with my son that night.   Team name: Kings of Loserville.

Royce Royce baby

you guessed it

vanilla

Have a great year young man. I only managed one “unit of ownership” so far and have a draft coming up that I aim to take him in.

Really excited about Royce this year. Great situation. Broncos are tailored to his skill set. Average competition in Booker. Big back with speed. If CJ Anderson could put up 1000 yards in this system, Royce can do it as well. Rolling with Royce!

Yahoo has a news update 9/9 saying Booker is the starter, while other sites don't mention it and have Freeman as the starter as of 9/3. Has anyone seen anything to confirm yahoo's report?

Edit: Maybe it is some matchup blurb and not news, so might predate the 9/3 starter designation.

Looked to me like Denver just went with the hot hand in Lindsey.  Freeman looked great in the 4th quarter.  71 yards not too bad.

Freeman got upstaged a little bit today by Lindsay, but he played quite well.

He should get a much better positive game script playing the Raiders in Week 2.

Lindsay is too short. Booker is the starter.
Week 1 so it's early, but Lindsay, despite his stature, was used as an every down rb and thrived as the best rb on the field.

Freeman had some tough sledding to begin the game (as the starter btw) but found success during 4 minute drill

And Booker looked like a guy who made the roster only because the staff didn't want a rb room full of rookies or 2 nd year players

Royce Freeman - RB -  Broncos

Royce Freeman played 29-of-74 (39 percent) snaps Week 1 against the Seahawks.

Phillip Lindsay played 26 snaps while matching Freeman's carry total, and Devontae Booker finished with 19 snaps. Lindsay had something of a "hot hand," so this split could be tilted more in Freeman's favor in a normal week. Even so, it is clear the Broncos plan to use a committee approach moving forward, limiting Freeman's fantasy appeal.

Looks like a mess to me. Maybe Freeman lives up to his ADP next week.

Interested in this Lindsay guy, although I'm sitting pretty at RB in most leagues.

Opportunity and value.

I never drafted Booker or Freeman. But I'd rather get 4 points from an 11th rounder than 7 from a 4th Rounder.

Which guy is hurting your team more, right now?
I prefer the guy that got 70 yards rushing over the guy that got 4. I prefer the guy that got 15 carries to the guy that got 2. I prefer the guy that got touches in both halves and not just a couple in the second half. But hey, if you like the other guy, then by all means, go for it. You have been so incredibly wrong on how this will shake out from the beginning. Why would you stop now?

RBBC? Looks to me like Lindsay forced the issue. He deserves the ball. How much? Hard to say how it will split up, but probably Lindsay with more targets and Freeman more carries.

Here's the funny thing that you don't seem to understand.

This isn't about Booker. Read the thread title. This is a Freeman thread.

Your 4th Round Pick got outscored by an Undrafted Free Agent. Feel good about that all you want, pal.

Wait, what I said was worthy of you going all caps? And you call me sensitive?

You have been wrong about this the entire way. You said that booker would hold onto the starting job because he was the vet. I said you were wrong. I said that Lindsay would take over Booker's roll before long, not expecting it to be week 1, but there we have it.

I said your take on the situation was wrong and has been from the beginning. Those are facts. That's constructive criticism, not disrespect. Going all caps and name calling is where the disrespect starts and that starts with you.

I'd drop a "Lighten up, Francis" or "Maybe you should switch to decaf" but you would probably take that as a major insult for me calling you Francis or something.
