RB Saquon Barkley, PHI (3 Viewers)

A few reasons really but the major one being it's not reflective of their overall usage relative to the team when you are using a season long total and not accounting for players such as Robinson and Slayto, who have averaged more targets per game, not being active several weeks.

Ah, that makes sense. I won't argue the particulars because I was just wondering about your reasoning. Thanks. You're looking at averages more than totals. Makes perfect sense and is probably a better way to look at it.

Saquon Barkley rushed 11 times for 39 yards and one touchdown, adding four receptions for 13 yards on five targets in the Giants' Week 12 loss to the Cowboys.

Barkley punched in his TD from the one-yard line but the biggest moment of the game for him came on a dropped target on 4th-and-1. Jones threw the pass behind Barkley when Barkley had plenty of room to run ahead of him. However, Barkley was unable to make the grab despite getting his hands on it. It was a miscue that seemingly ended the Giants' chances in this game. Barkley lost out on some work at the end of the game to Gary Brightwell, which was a disappointing result for his fantasy managers. He has another difficult matchup against the Commanders defense in Week 13, but will still be an RB1.

Saquon Barkley bursts through Commanders' defense for 13-yard TD

Saquon Barkley rushed 18 times for 63 yards and one touchdown in the Giants' Week 13 game against the Commanders, adding five receptions for 18 additional yards.

Barkley punched in a 13-yard score to give the Giants their first touchdown of the day but managed just 3.5 yards per touch against a stout Washington defense. Barkley had multiple carries of 10+ yards on the day, which included a 21-yard rush late in the second quarter to help set up a Graham Gano field goal before halftime, but his chunk gains weren't enough to offset the numerous times he was stuffed at the line. Barkley will be a top-12 back heading into next week's contest against the Eagles.

Saquon Barkley (neck) was limited in Thursday's practice.

What a day for these. Barkley's status will become one of the prime situations to monitor on Friday. ESPN's Jordan Ranaan believes that it will not stop Barkley from playing and Barkley did talk to the media on Thursday, so the picture is probably not quite as bad as the words "surprise injury Saquon Barkley" feel. It does remain something that Barkley drafters should keep an eye on Friday.

Time to drop Hilliard for Breida?

I don't have room on my bench to stash both in case of injury (I have Saquon, but not Henry).

This doesn't sound good.

Is Breida the clear pickup?

Giants head coach Brian Daboll said he "hopes" Saquon Barkley (neck) can play in Week 14 against the Eagles.

Dealing with a neck injury that has limited him in practice this week, Barkley seems like a game-time call for this Sunday against division rival Philadelphia. Barkley's production has slowed to a crawl over the past month and a half after a red-hot start to the season. He's cracked 100 rushing yards once over his past five games and hasn't had much involvement in the team's passing offense. Barkley would be a no-brainer RB1 against an exploitable Eagles rush defense if he suits up. Gary Brightwell and Matt Breida would likely split backfield duties if Barkley is sidelined.

Yea does not feel too great... neck injuries are always hard to predict too depending on how severe they are

I hope he sits, just to rest his legs.
I hope he gets 27 touches and finishes as the RB1 this week.

We are not the same.
If you have the depth, it’s probably not the worst thing if he winds up sitting just this one game in a brutal matchup. Problem is, not too many of us have that kind of depth.
If he’s out I start Palmer at flex and move JaWill to RB2 behind Stevenson.

Not the worst possible scenario, but less than ideal compared to starting my RB1.

JaWill might actually outscore Barkley if he can keep falling in the end zone.

ETA: I’ve got Etienne, Pollard and Swift (plus White if Lenny is out), so hopefully can manage without Saquon.

Well aren’t we just the queen of England - all fancy with our RB depth.

And guess who’s merely in 4th place even with that depth :hey:

I think you will see more of Breida and Brightwell this week. The game next week against Washington is more important re: playoff possibilities. just my opinion.

I think they need to win as many as they can. If he plays I’d expect his usual workload. I’d like to see a little more receiving - they’ve kinda dropped off that part of his game and it’s dumb.

Think about this thread before that Bijan pick.

dropped off from when? his rookie year? he's on pace for the most receptions he's had since then.

His rookie year was surely an outlier with Eli a check down artist at the end, but I would also think they would use him more as a receiver considering the state of their WR crew.

Earlier this year.

his high in targets was week 1 with 7, last 3 weeks are 5, 6, 5. before that he had 1 but carried it 35 times.

Super dumb. Imagine if he ever had any space to run with the ball

To be fair, he’s had a few routes where there was nothing but green grass ahead of him & Danny 10-Pennies missed him in the flat. One particularly egregious one was a guaranteed 60+ yard TD & Jones threw it low and behind him.

Yea I have seen a few of those this year where instead of dumping it off for a guaranteed first down or more he throws it into double coverage. Daniel Jones is the worst. I’d be Surprised if he is even still there next year

Early on he looked like he'd turned a corner under Dabol. The more I've seen of him, the more he looks like the same broken QB with unfixable flaws. Terrible decision maker under pressure, and still turns the ball over at the worst possible times. For his career he has 39 fumbles in 46 games, which is...less than ideal. He has improved this year, but nowhere near enough for a team to invest big money in him. He's been maddeningly inconsistent, and his ceiling performances are too few and far between. And it's not that high a ceiling, tbh.

I wasn't surprised to see NYG decline his option - I'll be shocked if they re-sign him. If they do, they're committing to mediocrity for X # of years.

I'm sure he'll come out gangbusters on Sunday just so this post ages terrible. lol

I am hoping he sits, I really want to play cook over him. My fear for bark is, eagles run out to a lead he gets pulled early. Although they usually play close games, I just feel like there is to much of a talent gap at the moment due to injuries

Looked like Saquon had some black kinesio tape on the right side of his neck in warmups. He's already been wearing extra padding on his injured right shoulder.
