I was listening to a podcast (can’t remember which) that compared the Eagles offense to the Boston Celtics offense in that they have studied the analytics and are following a formula that is going to be very successful in getting them Ws even if it’s very difficult to watch.
With the Celtics the analytics said to fill the floor with players who can knock down threes and launch as many of them per game as possible. With the Eagles it appears to be gain 3 YPC and get into 3rd and short and use the tush push to get (almost) guaranteed first downs, extend drives, and dominate TOP.
I thought it was a pretty interesting comparison. Unfortunately for us fantasy football fans, while the Celtics could still give us many viable fantasy assets with their approach, the same may not be true of the Eagles and their offense.

I think this is an interesting comparison, and definitely has a grain of truth to it. This Offense has been infuriatingly conservative, looking to rely on the run game.
The unfortunate part is they don’t have the personnel to do it as effectively as they want. But they aren’t motivated to abandon the philosophy because they’re winning.
They lost their best run-blocking WR in Johnny Wilson. They only have 1 true blocking TE, and he is often injured. The Interior OL is struggling, partly playcalling and partly nagging injuries. Lane Johnson is banged up.
They need the bye week to be able to self-scout. It’s pretty clear they are trying to establish themselves as an old-school, dominant run team that can uncork and pass whenever they need. I fear they are going to need a bad loss or two before they abandon their love with condensed, heavy personnel formations and stale, predictable play calls.
