The "he hasn't done anything" crowd has some valid points, but making the 53 two seasons in a row as a UDFA is not nothing. Most UDFAs do not survive roster cuts or see the field, so clearly the coaching staff is seeing some things they like with Tucker.

Took a look at Irving while evaluating this rookie class and I see some nice things there, but to me he's a Quizz Rodgers/Gio Bernard type of back. Nice quickness and agility, but probably lacking the size and power to be worth a big fuss in FF. Also not crazy explosive. 192 pounds with 4.5 speed and we are worried about him? If Tucker can't get past him eventually then that just means Tucker was never good enough to justify our attention, because this should not be an insurmountable obstacle.

FantasyPros has Tucker at dynasty RB92, which is basically pennies under the couch cushions. Happy to take a spin for that price. Haven't looked at any startups lately, but if you can grab him from RB60+ then he seems like a low-risk, medium-reward roster stash. Worth a shot. I'm looking at the RB list now and seeing a lot of guys ranked ahead of him who I don't prefer. I might go as high as RB45 for Tucker in a dynasty startup, and that's still basically a low-risk dart throw with very little opportunity cost if he crashes out.

FWIW - and granting in advance this is low volume - but he's 4th in kick return average @ 33.8 with all exceeding 20 and a 53 yard return. This is how guys keep a foot in the door with coaching.

Ok well today is the day he gets some run. I think I'm going with Goodson in my desperate RB2 spot now that Flacco is active (I was leaning that way already) but am really really tempted to start Tucker for fun.

Tennessee v Indy sounds like a low scoring slog to me where I think there is at least a chance Rattler makes a game out of the Tampa matchup. And if Tampa crushes them maybe Tucker gets cleanup duty.

yeah i get that move too. this is just a one week redraft rental thing for me and it almost doesn't matter. watch all three of my choices hit their exact projections at around 5-6 points each. Goodson might still be the call for me given his apparent 3rd down role and Flacco capable of moving it. I'm almost into the eff it flip a coin and let fate decide point. I ruled out Warren based on coming off injury fear and that Fields on top of Najee makes Warren less viable. There is no way Tampa gives little Bucky the whole pie today, right? Right?!!! Haha sigh guess I have one minute and so by personal rule no last minute changes. Tucker it is. Let's roll.

Picked him up in a 4th, but dropped him for D Douglas.

Tried to figure out how to make it work in a few others, but figured he’d be back to KR duty once White was healthy.

Nah. He’s cheap and an incredible receiver. They’ll find a way to use him. But, I think it’s clear far more carries are going to Bucky and Tucker going forward.

He looks like the best runner on the team to me. Dude has some serious juice. There’s simply no way they put the genie back in the bottle at this point.

It’s probably going to be a mess for a couple weeks. My hope is Tucker can continue to string together some good performances in his limited work and they’ll just continue giving him a larger share of the workload going forward.

They should just transition White to WR.

Last year Tucker wasn’t cleared for physical training until around June. It was very much up in the air if he’d have an NFL career at all. It was a testament to his talent that he still made the 53-man roster. Probably would’ve went 3rd round in the NFL Draft had it not been for his heart condition.

Tucker simply wasn’t ready last year. Didn’t get to train enough going into the season, needed to work more on learning the playbook, needed to work on pass protection, and the Bucs offensive line wasn’t as good last year as they are this year. Tucker had talent and opportunity (began the year as RB2 since only Edmonds and Vaughn were competition) but the situation wasn’t ideal for him to succeed. This year the talent is still there and the situation much improved, all that’s left is the opportunity.

Didn't get drafted. Has some tools. Got hurt first year. Battled through camp to make roster. Looked decent. Had a great game yesterday. Looked fast. Read his blocks. Looked legit. Now people think after one good game he has forced a time share? Not buying it. Next week, if all are healthy, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets 2 touches. All my opinion and I reserve the right to change opinion at my decision.

I don't know how to vieew it after yesterday.

I do think: A guy goes for nearly 200 total yards and 2 TD's: coaching staffs start thinking he needs to touch the ball. I also don't feel confident they completely go away from White.

To be fair, from all indications it wasn’t a talent issue as to why he wasn’t drafted. It was medical concern-heart condition to be exact.

Also to be fair, some guys don't pick it up right away and have to earn their coaches' trust. Kyren Williams was barely used as a rookie, same with James Cook, Tank Bigsby and probably others I'm not thinking of.

Maybe Tucker is another one, maybe not. But the fact that he didn't do anything last year is probably a sunk cost at this point. The bigger issue is a crowded backfield in which all three may play a role. Without injuries, it's probably going to be a bad situation for fantasy, but great for the Bucs.

Been saying since the summer that Bucky is probably going to be a Gio Bernard type of guy in the NFL. He is 5'9" 192 with 4.55 speed. Just not an ideal combination of traits for a full-time back. It made sense that the TB staff would shift some carries elsewhere instead of treating him like Derrick Henry.

Moving forward, it's a weird situation because Bucky is obviously good enough to deserve some carries, White is a good receiving back, and Tucker might be the best pure runner on the roster. I guess if we're talking dynasty, I like Tucker's combination of cost and traits the most. He was waiver fodder in the summer, yet could have long-term starter potential. It's still very early with him though. I liked his college tape a lot, but nothing is guaranteed yet.

I'll echo some other posters who have compared this to the Gibbs/Montgomery situation. The time share aspect is a negative, but the offense may be so explosive that there are multiple startable FF options in the backfield. We'll see. The game script won't always be this favorable where you're running down the clock with a massive lead in the 4th.

I totally agree it's just that if there is anything here - it was basically free yesterday morning but not now. People are going to spend their entire budgets this week. I don't think I have it in me to do anything big here. That offense is going to keep scoring though. Even if he is just a stash at this point with White coming back, he may still be worth rostering regardless just because if either of White/Bucky get hurt then he would look to be heavily involved again.

He has shown he can play and make plays. But I more or less agree he will be 3rd when White comes back. Speaking of which sounds like I/we need to see what's up with him. They're playing next MNF at home vs Baltimore so probably about 1000 points to be scored in that game. Mondays are tough though. Sure would be awesome to hear the coach say on like Saturday we're gonna sit White for another week.
