RB Tank Bigsby, PHI (1 Viewer)

Tank sighting.
Yeah he’s getting chances now. Will be an interesting rotation to watch all year.
He is getting chances when the game is out of hand. Also, Etienne has 4 times the carries. Not sure if this is going to be interesting
Etienne is better than Tank Bigsby. I am not sure what everyone saw in Bigsby. I guess it could have been what people didn't see out of Etienne last season?

Glad to have some ETN shares.

I wouldn’t go as far as saying Etienne is better than bigsby. Bigsby is a better pure runner - but it seems Eteinne is fitting in nicely with Coens offense.

It is too early to say for sure that Tank is done, but Etienne looked great got most of the work and this staff drafted Tuten. I could see Tank as rb very soon.

I think this is right. Etienne looked very good today against a terrible run defense. (he'll probably show out well against the Bengals next week as well, fyi)

But at one point he won't look very good, and I think Coen will have no hesitation to rotate in another back. I have no idea how that rotation will look, which will likely be a frustration all season long

Why would his value Tank? He went from being in a 3-headed monster at best, to the clear backup on the league’s best rushing attack. I don’t want Tank Bigsby for 10ppg, I want him for if he could ever be a difference maker. If Barkley goes down, the opportunity is now there.

I see what you did there.

Why? Why would the Eagles trade for Tank? Does Howie just have to many picks?
I assume Shipley's rib injury will cause him to miss some time. I think the Eagles want to feature a 2nd back a lot more this year so Saquon is healthy for another playoff run.

Welcome to Philly. 🦅

Jaguars trade running back Tank Bigsby to Eagles

The Jacksonville Jaguars are trading veteran running back Tank Bigsby to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for 2026 fifth- and sixth-round picks, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday night.

Bigsby had five carries for 12 yards Sunday, in the Jaguars' season-opening 26-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Starter Travis Etienne Jr. carried the bulk of the load for Jacksonville, posting 143 yards on 16 carries.

Bigsby, 23, a 2023 third-round pick out of Auburn, has 910 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground in his three years in the NFL.

As an Eagles fan, I do not like this trade. I’d rather have a future 5th AND 6th round pick than Bigsby. I like Shipley better than Bigsby. Even if Shipley is hurt, just use AJ Dillon as the 2, and sign a 3 off someone’s practice squad. I love Howie and he’s usually spot on but this feels like an overpay to me. Yeah you can say a 5th and 6th rounder rarely pay off big time, but it’s all about multiple shots on goal.

As active as Roseman is, he could just trade back an earlier pick and recoup those picks pretty easily. A problem he can kick down the road to April

Eagles are in their window. Send late round picks for players who can help now. If Roseman thinks Bigsby is an improvement on Dillon/Shipley, I'm ready to agree with him.

Also, Bigsby could play well for them, walk next offseason, and net a comp pick in return. Last year of his rookie deal, I think

They had 13 picks for next year going into the season. Now, they have 10? left. They weren’t using all of them anyway.

Somebody pointed out in the Eagles thread that between Shipley and Tank, they have both under contract for under $3M next year. Dillon will be gone.

But now we have Tank Bigsby as a cost controlled backup option for the next 1-2 years to go along with what Shipley brings.

Tank had 4.6 YPC in Jax last year to go along with 7 TDs and 700+ yards.

I think you could bump this up at least .2-.5 YPC behind what this line and running style brings.

I can see the vision, how often do 5th/6th round picks hit or last, considering we’ve cut our 3-4 most recent ones of the past 2 drafts?

Maybe Shipley's rib injury is worse than we know? If not, I honestly wonder if Bigsby would beat Shipley out.
this was the first thing I was wondering when this deal was announced.

the second thing I thought was.... does sequon have an unannounced injury?

either way, the Eagles obviously felt he would add something to the team. Lets hope its not due to an injury

KR perhaps?

The ESPN article makes it sound like it’s really just for Bigsby to be the kick returner. With the kick return being a thing again, I could maybe see that.

That’s probably part of the story but not all of it. Shipley is hurt and they may expect him to miss games. And he’s cheap to keep next year and Dillon will presumably be gone.

Slogan for this Bigsby signing,"hey, he's better than AJ Dillon (running directly into his linemen)".

In the words of Cris Collinsworth (probably) Now here's a guy who should file an ADA lawsuit against the NFL for not allowing a blind man to play with his seeing eye dog.

Anyway, wanted to respond with Etienne is the more versatile and athletic back. To me he profiles quite a bit higher with a top 5 RB finish to prove it. I would be shocked if Tuten isn't the big pop 25-30% of touches but ETN commands 65% of the RB snaps. Like his odds as a fantasy backend RB1 top tier RB2.

Interested to see Tank behind that line. I personally think it's a better situation being a backup on Philly than a backup on the Jags. Way bigger upside hold IMO.
Hopefully all we see is him grinding clock out in the 4th Quarter as Eagles fans.

He averaged 4.6 YPC in Jax last year, while ETN averaged 3.7 behind the same line, so I am intrigued by what he could do behind the Eagles offensive line as well - I think he was added with a role in mind, not to just serve as a KR.

Interesting premise and it makes a lot of sense: https://x.com/ryanohalloran/status/1957432560092389775
This guy was trying to tell people and like I said, it made perfect sense. Bigsby's a really good runner but he's proverbial square peg in a round hole in a Liam Cohen offense that loves to throw screens to the RB's.

Was very happy seeing this trade down on multiple fronts.

Bigsby is just a handcuff but if ever called upon I think he'd run wild behind that OL. What is really is awesome for me personally is my ownership of both Barkley and Tank is on the low side but by luck almost every place I own them both, not all but most, happens to be the same team so I just got some nice Barkley insurance.

Freeing Tuten who I am invested in more then Barkley or Tank was the other major positive, maybe the biggest.

Idk. What Philly paid for the trade wasn't chump change. Is it possible Philly wants to keep Barkley fresh? 75/25 split but w Barkley seeing the RZ touches? Maybe Philly doesn't want Barkley to have to be the bellcow
