RB Tier List (1 Viewer)

Usually I scoff at the "info" posted by CBS Sportsline, but I actually like this Quick Reference RB tier list they posted last Saturday. Well, not being one to ignore something useful when I see it, I thought I would pass it along.

This was in Dave Richards "Fantasy and Reality" segment - one of the few things I do check out at CBS...

With seven weeks gone in the Fantasy season, here's a quick-reference guide for judging running backs:

Must-starts regardless ...

Tiki Barber

Larry Johnson

LaDainian Tomlinson

Brian Westbrook

Stud RBs who are difficult to bench ...

Tatum Bell

Ronnie Brown

Frank Gore

Steven Jackson

Rudi Johnson

Kevin Jones

Julius Jones

Willie Parker

Clinton Portis

Chester Taylor

Good RBs ... usually

Corey Dillon

Warrick Dunn

DeShaun Foster

Thomas Jones

Deuce McAllister

Willis McGahee

Fred Taylor

Cadillac Williams

High risk/high reward ...

Joseph Addai

Shaun Alexander (due to injury)

Reggie Bush

Reuben Droughns

Ahman Green

Travis Henry

Edgerrin James

Maurice Jones-Drew

LaMont Jordan

Jamal Lewis

Wali Lundy

Laurence Maroney

Maurice Morris

Dominic Rhodes

Leon Washington

On the fringe ...

Marion Barber

Kevan Barlow

Mike Bell

Correll Buckhalter

Cedric Benson

Najeh Davenport

Samkon Gado

Brandon Jacobs

Jerious Norwood

Michael Turner

LenDale White

DeAngelo Williams

Guys, if you look at it that way, there would be at least 10-20 RB's in tier one.

I think he's just mentioning the "ELITE" RB'S. Maybe the writer should have labled the tiers different.

It's a pretty good list.

Look at it what way? I just said I thought Jackson was also an auto-start. It is a good list and I was just offering a thought.

You remember the site fantasyref.com? David Gonos went over to CBS and I really expected him to "make it big" over there. Real good guy, knows FF well, many contacts(including many many FBG staffers as friends)...didn't happen, haven't heard from him in years and seems like he fell off the face of the earth. Really a shame IMO

warrick dunn should be in that 2nd tier
I think Dunn would deserve a bump up if it wasn't for Vick. He's been good but not studly week in and week out. Also, I can see the argument for SJax. He has put up consistent numbers all year. I think its because he really hasn't a stud-like game other than maybe Week 4 that is holding him back?

He needs to get out the Claratin because he's allergic to the endzone.

I don't get these lists... how can any "must start regardless" list be limited to only 4 guys unless you play in a 4 team league? I'm in a 14 team league and there are at least 14 "must start regardless" backs. Ronnie Brown is mine. I HAVE to start him every week!

Even in an 8 team league and I had Kevin Jones or Steven Jackson - they are going to start every week - regardless.
