RB/WR Cordarrelle Patterson, Free Agent (1 Viewer)

I traded for Patterson thinking about 2015 and beyond. I got excited when he did well the first week. He is still getting better and I love his attitude. You know he wants the ball but he's not throwing a fit because he's not getting it. He's just going to concentrate on getting better. If they continue to give him 1-3 carries a week and he can score a few ST TD's a year he will only have to become an average WR to be a WR2 with upside. That looks attainable right now but it's not likely to happen overnight.
Need it to happen overnight....kickoff is tomorrow.

In re-draft, you have to sell. There is a 50+ yard TD run/screen pass coming, certainly, but you can't count on it. Sell while there is still name value attached to the asset.

Find an owner who thinks they're buying low and move him for B.Quick--a top option--or T.Williams/E.Royal--2nd/3rd options on teams that can support fantasy value at those positions. You're not getting anywhere with the Vikings 2nd/3rd option, even if he busts a long score 3-5 times a season.
I don't think I can be as rational as you at this point. I'm on tilt.

I'm starting him with no confidence.
Yeah hes a must start due to potential He will not blow up on my BN anytime soon. A guy like Harvin could do that as soon as next week, but not CPatt.

Lets not forget talk of an injury, the guy may have been on decoy duty recently (which is kinda great for a 2nd yr WR)

This should be a Sweet game tonight!

Just moved CP and a mid 2nd rookie pick for DT in my Dynasty. He's a crazy exciting player to watch when he gets the ball in his hands, tough to let him go. Just not sure the consistency to be a WR1 will ever be there.

I've been trying to land him in my dynasty but to no avail. Current owner has him on the bench. I did start with a low ball offer to gauge him and have increased as time went on but guess not enough for current owners liking.

Reports are saying it's looking more and more likely that Ponder is getting the nod. This has all the makings of a disaster, short week away at GB with Ponder under center and thunderstorms likely. I haven't made up my mind yet.

The Packers have mostly been a terrible tackling team this year. So this may be the week Patterson busts a long one. Clinton-Dix is a good tackler, but the rest of them?...They have good cover guys back there, so I would expect it to have to be a WR screen kind of play, where he just jukes a couple guys and is gone.

Long term, I'm starting to really think that this guy is more like Devin Hester/Jacoby Jones/Ted Ginn than a real WR. Those guys are all awesome returners, just can't play WR. He and Hunter have been real disappointments.

Benched for hopkins this week.

It's the right thing to do. It's totally possible he busts out tonight on all of our benches, but that doesn't mean we made the wrong decision by benching him. He's just not that involved in the offensive game plan rt now and hasn't been since week 1

Even in week 1 after his awesome rushing performance fantasy owners were rightfully weary BC his i comments in the passing game was not confidence inspiring. And he only had 3 carries.

Definitely not a drop though. He's a hold and wait till he is used more.

Did anyone notice CP just kind of swat at the ball on a WR screen against ATL? Looked like he just let it go to avoid a loss. If teams continue jumping that play CP's opportunities diminish even more.

This is exactly what I'm think. If the conditions are #### this would actually help CPat IMO. It's not like he was going to work the defense in any other fashion anyway. My brain says sit but my gut says flex.

I just can't play him. I drafted him in my two most important leagues and am sitting at 2-2 in both of them. I can't afford six points especially at a position where you can sign almost anyone to get that.

Listen, if he blows up,on the bench--great! We have some optimism moveing forward. Can't keep rolling him out there in the hopes that "this is the game he goes off!"

Secondly, other than Manning and Donnell last week, the trend this year is for visiting players to flat out stink on TNF. Believe me--I get it, you want to sit back tonight with the only game on and watch him kick ###. We have to be disciplined and leave him on the bench until he or his situation improves.

I don't know why more players don't do that on plays where a big loss is coming. Heck, I think it was LeSean McCoy last week that made a diving catch 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage in the middle of the field with no timeouts left and the clock running in the last minute. Why in the world would he not just bat that ball down?

I wonder this all the time as well. The only things I can think of is sometimes they aren't sure if it's a backwards pass or not.

I remember ponder throwing him a lot of balls
Did he? CPat's best games came with Cassel under center during the last quarter or so of the year. With Ponder under center, I see a lot of 2/30/0 type games. Same crap we're seeing now.
Yeah, I agree. I don't remember Ponder ever making CP useful. Ponder is horrible. Typical FSU QB crud. CP is in my starting lineup in my 32 tm league over Vereen, but it's a coin toss. I'm probably screwed either way.

FWIW, Vegas has the O/U at 3.5 receptions and 52.5 yards for CPat. Jennings has an identical 3.5/52.5 line with a worse chance of scoring. Is this really what it's come to? Oof.

Benched him for Sanders. As sods law would have it, I of course played Patterson every week so far except the first one where I played Sanders ( Patterson's highest score so far, and Sanders lowest ).

Also been trying to trade him for Bishop Sankey to no avail. Sankey is like the dudes 5th choice RB, Patterson my fourth choice WR, and each others deficiencies suit this trade perfectly but he won't go for it.

This collective benching will no doubt result in a big score, but as another poster said, I'll be perfectly fine about that as it will only increase his value again, or at least give us some evidence that he can be of use going forward.

This weather report is making me rethink benching him.
Why
More of a gut feeling than anything else. But it seems like offensive players gain a strong advantage playing on a sloppy field. The deep passing game may suffer but the short passing game and running attack should have many opportunities to break one.

Regardless of weather, the concerns still remain the same. He's just not invlolved in the game plan the way he should be.

I'm benching him for Harvin. Either one is a rough choice, but wPonder, short week, etc, figure at least Harvin is in the game plan each week. Taking the higher floor v higher ceiling this week.

Yeah like..weather, Ponder and short week aside..he's still the same dude averaging only 5 targets a game. It's mind boggling to me that he has the 55th most targets so far this year. 55th. There has to be a reason that I'm not aware of.

ETA: It's more like ~70th factoring byes and injuries.

He did have a huge game the last time he played in bad weather as well. 147/1 last year vs. Baltimore in a snow-storm.
