I am wondering why you would start Patterson over Thielen?Lascelle said:Add me to the Patterson train thanks to Montgomery's sick out.
Already have Thielen primed for a pickup (or already on the bench) in the event that Cordarelle can't go. Ugh... what a week.
I hope he moves to greener pastures. Particularly this year (but even as a rook) Cordarrelle has produced dynamic plays whenever he's been involved. He deserves to be played like a normal WR, and I hope he finds a landing spot that agrees.Cordarrelle Patterson Would Welcome Move To Running Back
Patterson said this a year ago as well. I am kind of not sure why they don't give him a chance to carry the ball a few more times each game. Sometimes he goes not get any. With some expanded use of the wildcat, it seems like Patterson should have gotten more involved because of that as well.
Unless he is willing to sign for a discount that will not be happening.go to the Patriots, go to the Patriots, go to the Patriots![]()
Alex Marvez of the Sporting News reports the Bears are interested in free agent Cordarrelle Patterson.Bears could make great use of Patterson.
Free agent Cordarrelle Patterson says he wants to re-sign with the Vikings.
"All I am hearing is stay with the Vikings," said Patterson. "Trust me, I want to, but we all know business is business. So what you going to do, (GM) Rick (Spielman)." Patterson has yet to sign despite visiting with multiple teams. He would likely have to accept a team-friendly deal to return to Minnesota.

That sounds about right. He's a nickel trying to be a dime.So essentially Patterson is getting zero offers and there is no market for him. Except in Minnesota....
He already had some marginal value in deeper PPR (non return yardage) leagues last season - he's still a #3 option at best, but he goes to a better QB and a better team/offense that you would think will be at least somewhat committed to using him, since I'm sure he would have wanted some assurances along those lines as a FA looking for a better opportunity. It wouldn't take much for him to be relevant this season IMO and he's physically a different kind of WR to Cooper and Crabtree, which I think helps him.Any value for CP would be in return yardage leagues only.
Patterson is oddly not much of a field stretcher. I am not sure what Oakland has planned for him outside of a returner. He obviously still has physical upside and hopefully continues to develop. OAK probably kept thinking about what an impact Tyreek Hill made and wanted their own dangerous weapon in the return game. The raiders receiving corp was more thin than most people think. By signing Patterson they can now focus on CB/RB/LB/TE in the draft and won't have to take a flyer on WR unless a crazy value falls to them. Worst case scenario they just put a potentially high scoring offense on a shorter field. The raiders receivers consist of all-world Cooper and 3 short range targets in Crabtree/Roberts/Walford. Patterson fits as a field stretching role they needed to fill and they filled it without burning a draft pick. I think both Roberts and Walford were disappointmets last season. Great signing by the raiders. Very good landing spot for Patterson, where else would have been better? Maybe BAL or BUF but not a lot better.
I know he wasn't used as a field stretcher in MIN, but I feel that is kind of a strange offense to make a fair assessment. Carr is by far the best QB he's ever played with and I think Patterson has all the physical tools to stretch the field. We shall see.Patterson is oddly not much of a field stretcher. Roberts, while underrated, can be beaten out. However, it would have to be a better, more diverse player than CP. He should be on people radar in return yardage leagues already, but coming to Oakland, he'll be the WR4/gadget player at best.Raiders slot WR (Seth Roberts) can be beaten out by Mr. Flashy IMO. He is on my radar now in return yardage leagues.
He plays football like it is just a game and not a job....While somewhat refreshing, it doesn't help his growth....CP is a good kid. Funny kid.
He simply does not have the demeanor for professional football. He's like the kid in little league that gets distracted by the butterflies and dandelions in the outfield.
If he can learn the playbook. Dude has no idea where he's supposed to be on the field. He could never hack it in an offense like NE's.Raiders slot WR (Seth Roberts) can be beaten out by Mr. Flashy IMO.
Not to mention another year older...Some mature later than others...Work ethic generally improves with maturity. Most (all?) of you have written him off. Cool. Let's see what a change of scenery that includes a huge upgrade in QB and OL, plus a very beatable WR3 and WR1&2 that command defensive respect, brings.

Why you writing off Seth Roberts so quickly? His career has been drastically better than CP's career. Patterson has never had a worthwhile season despite the opportunity given to a 1st round draft pick. He's also averaging a measly 10.0 YPR for his career. I'd expect a higher catch rate given his low YPR. The guy's career is basically begging people to write him off. Cooper and Crabtree are locked in at WR1 & WR2. Even the most diehard CP dynasty owner can't be that excited about the upside of being WR3 on Oakland. If I was crazy enough to roster him in a non-return yardage league, I'd have been hoping for somewhere with a weak WR2 like Carolina. Instead he signed somewhere with a great WR1/WR2 duo and a decent WR3. Just let the dream go, man. Most (all?) of you have written him off. Cool. Why? Because I've been watching Seth his entire time in Oakland. CP is by far the more talented player IMO. Now that might not mean much if he can't learn the playbook, but you have your opinion and I have mine. We'll see how it plays. Why you writing off Seth Roberts so quickly? I'm guessing it's because Seth Roberts yards/target dropped from 8.7 in '15 to 5.2 in '16. Patterson had a yards to target of 6.5 yards last season(and has over 6 for his career) and that was playing with Bradford and the Vikings OL. I don't think it takes much imagination to envision Carr and the raiders OL as being a better situation than the one Patterson is leaving. Roberts may have scored more than Patterson.... on an offense that scores more. The Vikings were 23rd in the league in scoring, and the raiders were 7th. The TD's fluctuate anyway and are difficult to count on for either of these guys but that's a big difference. I'll take the 52/453 Patterson had last year in a terrible offense and gamble his scoring increases compared to the 38/397 Roberts got in a much better offense and Roberts had more targets. Why you writing off Seth Roberts so quickly? His career has been drastically better than CP's career.
It's a deal. He's had 4 years to do something. 4 years. And nothing. Blame the OL if you want, blame the QBs, but Diggs got it done. Keep making excuses for CP so you can justify burning a roster spot on him... and maybe, just maybe he'll return the favor by winning the WR3 job in Oakland - a highly coveted position in fantasy circles.
You talking about Seth Roberts? I don't own any Seth Roberts shares. I'm just not convinced CP is actually better than him. It's a deal.
And you keep cashing all those checks your 38 catch, 397 yard receivers are getting you.
Are you familiar with CP's stats? It's a deal.

Give CP Roberts' opportunities in the Oak offense from the last two seasons, plus the kick returns and you have low-end fantasy WR1 upside in return leagues. Now granted this is the extreme upside scenario, but the main thing keeping CP from getting the chance at that upside is Seth Roberts, a replacement level NFL WR3.Are you familiar with CP's stats?

QB, OL, inexperience - even still he was a high-end fantasy WR2 in return yardage leagues his rookie year.Andy Dufresne said:Are you familiar with what was standing in CP'S way in Minnesota?
I would say their OL, but I have a tough time believing that group could collectively stand in the way of even a single WR.Andy Dufresne said:Are you familiar with what was standing in CP'S way in Minnesota?
