I don't think the plot could be anymore generic... but this one did it better than any I can remember off the top of my head. Plenty of laugh out loud moments. Not a big fan of the lead guy but his friends and family in the movie were fantastic. 3.5/5

Duck, You Sucker (aka A Fistful of Dynamite, Once Upon A Time The Revolution) -- Sergio Leone's most obscure work but no less fantastic than any of his other westerns. Red Steiger plays a Mexican outlaw who one day runs into an Irish dynamiteman played by James Coburn. They have a fantastic chemistry throughout the whole movie (as per usual with Leone). What impressed me the most was how Leone depicted his vision of revolution and the toll that it takes on a country and on individual man. The use of drawing parallel's in the character Coburn plays between his past in the IRA and his reintroduction to revolution in Mexico is marvelous. I would say that Once Upon A Time In America is his most ambitious effort (and that fell short, IMO) this one is his biggest production and his patience as a storyteller is heightened in the addition of big action and some very comedic moments.

Had a friend over my place maybe like 5-6 years ago and we were trying to decide on a movie to watch. My Pops basically coerced us into watching OUATIAmerica (and this was around like 11pm or so). I usually dont have a problem with movies being long (especially gangster ones), in fact a lot of my favorites are around 2.5hrs or longer, but after an hour I just started to think when is this going to go somewhere?! 2 hours later, its when is this going to end?! Finally it ends, and I look at my dad and say I just spent 4 hours of my life to see DeNiro hit a pipe?!After looking at IMDB and seeing its got an 8.4/10 and #84 movie ever, not only do I agree it fell short but Id call it very overrated.

I don't have a problem with the length, unlike you (man that had to suck) I knew what I was getting vested into. In fact, I felt it should be longer or it needed to be clearer how Woods' character got to where he was. I felt like there were a lot of holes. I did like the ending and *** SPOILER ALERT! Never considered your spoiler. Im sure I'll watch it again at some point, but I have little interest to do so. Ending didnt really bother me, what you mention about Woods definitely did. All in all, that Woods part seemed similar to many other things in the movie that just seemed unexplained and left me confused.

Just watched '21' last night. Disappointing film. The book was far superior. Hated the ridiculous plot changes they made. The story was interesting and suspenseful beforehand - the changes IMO made it far less credible.

He actually said it was terrible, and he likes a lot of terrible movies. This kid likes a lot o movies that 20 year old boys like (Transformers, etc.). But he's a big Scorsese and Tarantino fan, and I think he'll end up being a pretty knowledgeable movie buff.

this is one of my all time favorite films. it is just superb. it is full of surprisingly complex and layered characters. it's funny and clever too. it captures an interesting dynamic between two friends that aren't often dealt with. apparently when the film was originally conceived with greene and reed, it was supposed to star cary grant and noel coward. that's a completely different film, i think.i love this film, quite frankly.

The book wasn't all that great either. Don't remember how much it was changed. Think Spacey's character was different in the movie, more menacing and dramatic than the book, but I don't really remember the book all that well.

The book was infinitely better than the movie. And likely closer to reality, since the plot wasn't completely changed.gump - I'll PM you with specifics on how the plot was changed so as to avoid playing spoiler.

World's Greatest Dad- Not too bad. It was very dark but had a lot of humorous parts. I feel that even though the subject matter was dark the overall plot had been done before (white lie turns into gigantic lie that spins out of control). Robin Williams has done better but I enjoyed this.

Inception might not be an "action movie", but it looks like there will be plenty of action and pretty much looks like its cant miss-great....the new TV spot I saw today said something on the screen like "when you enter their dream, just hope you make it out alive"....kind of sounds like ripoff of Matrix and Nightmare on Elm Street combined ....not too worried though, should still be enjoyable even if some ideas are being re-used a little.

In moderation, I would agree.I've watched the following that I can remember under the spell in theaters:

Constantine (Enjoyed this crappy flick A TON)

Sin City (I didn't realize that some of the scenes had color in them until I watched it again on TV, not as good of an experience and I really don't care for the movie at all outside of the Mickey Rourke story.)

The Happening (This couldn't possibly be as bad as I thought it was, but judging from what everyone else said, it is, still had fun)

Avatar 3d (Broke my mind, best movie viewing experience of my life)

There's probably a couple more I don't remember. The first time out is tough, standing in line for over an hour before Avatar was excruciating, but it was worth it.

I've never gotten into the predators movies. I can't explain it but it just never entered my list of movies to watch. I may rent when it comes to DVD/Pay-per-view but have no desire to shell out $8 to see it.Salt looks like a fun movie.. Add in that my daughter wants to see it and it jumps Predator for me.
