John Carter - I have never read the book but I was trying to imagine what the biggest flop in the history of film might possibly look like so I watched it. It's not great, not really even very good but this is not the worst film ever made so that's something, right? And for the biggest flop in film history it has a pretty solid cast: Willem DaFoe, Thomas Haden Church, Mark Strong, Dominic West, Bryan Cranston etc.
I think my favorite part was seeing
Ciarán Hinds and
James Purefoy on screen together again. Reminded me of how much I loved Rome (Nicholas Woodeson and Polly Walker also had small parts).
Average action flick for 2012, could be worse, not as bad as all that. Although still not something you should go out of your way to see.
