Totally dig this movie.The Re-Animator
I've been watching old 80's horror movies as they come out on Blu Ray but unfortunately this one didn't live up to my memories of it. Sure it has its moments (cat scene) but it wasn't as funny as I remembered.

Just saw this again last night and, for me, this film has a very high replay value. Such a well done crime caper and, IMO, it was Kilmer's last top notch performance* and his best since Tombstone.*Looking at his IMDB page I have only seen Deja Vu, Felon, The ThawI said I dont really want to watch it againHave you tried rewatching it before declaring that it doesn't have a high rewatchability factor?I might say the same thing, but Ive only seen it once. Despite being a big RDJ and Kilmer fan, cant say I really ever want to watch it again. Thats not to discount the movie, because I loved it, but rewatchability is a big part of movies I'll call great, and movies I'll call very good.I think Dumb & Dumber is a great movie though, so maybe that John Denver was just full of ####.Big fan of this movie.Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
For some reason I avoided this when it was released and everyone else was ranting and raving about it. We get Robert Downey Jr as the most self aware narrator since Christian Slater in Kuffs (Another film I really enjoy despite this being a pretty awful device in the wrong hands), RDJ is one of the few guys in the business that could also pull it off. Him and Kilmer play incredibly well off each other and its one of Kilmer's very best performances. Some hilarious lines and you really never know what to expect, which is kind of hard to do these days. Part comedy, part noir, all style. Recommended if you missed it.

I don't really know much about Robert Preston's early work (he played Centauri in TLS) but in his last three film roles S.O.B., Victor Victoria and TLS he was positively brilliant (particularly S.O.B. which is absolutely hysterical).'Andy Dufresne said:I stillThe Last Starfighter.

Thanks I will definitely check it out.Seeing that it was nominated for best picture along with Lawrence of Arabia (winner), The Longest Day, Mutiny on the Bounty and To Kill a Mockingbird which are all favorites of mine makes me more interested.I'm not a big fan of musicals, but I love The Music Man and he's one of the reasons why. I went in thinking it would be a film that would be probably most popular when it airs on the Lifetime channel. The acting is superb. Neat little gem directed by David Schwimmer I came across through Netflix Instant Streaming. 3.5/5A suburban family is torn apart when fourteen-year-old Annie (Liana Liberato) meets her first boyfriend online. After months of communicating via online chat and phone, Annie discovers her friend (Chris Henry Coffey) is not who he originally claimed to be. Shocked into disbelief, her parents (Clive Owen and Catherine Keener) are shattered by their daughter's actions and struggle to support her as she comes to terms with what has happened to her once innocent life.
Meh. I instant watched it, it was ok. Owen and Keener hold their own. I wouldnt recommend it though. Then again, I was searching for pics of the daughter afterwardsTrust

A blast to show my 9-year-old nephew my favorites from the 80's. Not sure if the 80's just turned out classic comedies but I rarely have to show him a "classic" from the 1990 on.One Crazy SummerI watched it with my 13 year old for the first time since he was about six. Zero Dark Thirty:
Having not liked The Hurt Locker at all, I was really nervous about plopping down to watch this one. Thought that one had some of the silliest war scenes I've seen, but Bigelow really came through with Zero. I don't get all the bashing the film took, as I thought she did a decent job of presenting the movie and stepping away from feeling like a propaganda movie. For me there was definitely enough to chew on and think about - was it all worth it?, was the torture worth it?, etc.. Top that off with the white knuckle last act, and this was one of the better films of 2012. Thought Chastain was great in it as well, but she has been great in everything I have seen her in. 8/10

80's has a ton of movies like this. Seems like nowadays the movies are so narrowly aimed that you just don't get those flicks that are great for nearly any age.
Tommy Boy and Dumb and Dumber a couple of 90's flicks that have the same appeal.
He didn't like Groundhog Day. Maybe a bit too young for that one.
Wonder if he's ready for Revenge of the Nerds. Think it came out when I was 5. Probably saw it ten times on HBO, sandwiched between First and Ten and Gallagher smashing watermelons, when I was 7-8. Maybe best to wait a couple of years instead of screwing him up too.

Huge fan of Re-Animator when it came out. I remember having a bunch of people over and trying to get them into it and they all thought I was insane. It's been a long time so I should watch it again. I'll probably react now like they did then.It moved...Totally dig this movie. The Re-Animator

I watched this tonight based on recommendations here and all I can say is it is bad and that is based on Lifetime standards.Trust

It was kind of 2012's "Warrior." All the leads were so charismatic that you could forgive some of the far-fetched plot-lines. At least I did.End of Watch - I thought this was good, but not as good as I've heard. Great acting and banter between the main characters, and an interesting premise, but for something that is proposed to the audience as "real" there was too much cheesy action in there. I also thought the end was very predictable. 6.5/10
Yep. I may have liked it better than Lincoln. Watched Perks Of Being A Wallflower this weekend. I thought it was excellent. Not your average high school movie and not overly weird like Napoleon Dynamite (which I love). I thought the lead actor was very good and convincing. One of the best of '12 imoEnd of WatchHoly #### this is an intense movie. I really like the camera work and the way it was shot. Extremely real but I never got the shaky cam feeling. It's an emotional watch. Not a big picture movie with the ending you'd expect. But by far the best cop movie I've seen in a while. 4.5/5
Pretty much how I feel about it. I think it might have been better as an actual movie instead of the handheld camera style.End of Watch - I thought this was good, but not as good as I've heard. Nothing great but I didnt have any problems with it. Been awhile though.Mulholland Falls
An all-star cast composed of Nick Nolte, Melanie Griffith, Chazz Palminteri, Michael Madsen, Chris Penn, Treat Williams, Jennifer Connelly, Daniel Baldwin, Andrew McCarthy, and John Malkovich star in this total piece of #### that I couldn't even finish. Awful.
i remember this being a POS. tried way too hard on all fronts, i think.ETA- it was a precursor to "LA Confidential", i think, and where LAC succeeded this movie failed.Mulholland Falls

Hard to see how badly Michael Biehn has aged, as well. The DividePost-Nuclear drama about a group of people hiding away in a basement after a nuke hits Manhattan. Started off strong and had some good parts, but I really couldn't stand Milo Ventimiglia's bottom lip anymore. 7/10

Remember how they used to make documentaries about people that had accomplished something?Little bored at work so I streamed "The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia".An hour and a half of pure white trash. I'm not even sure what they were trying to accomplish through the documentary.Didn't know it was possible, but my outlook on the human race has been lowered once again.
I don't know about that, the Whites accomplishments in the field of ####ing up are borderline legendary.Remember how they used to make documentaries about people that had accomplished something?Little bored at work so I streamed "The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia".An hour and a half of pure white trash. "Wild and Wonderful Whites' actually came about due to an earlier documentary regarding Jessie 'Jesco' White called 'The Dancing Outlaw'. Took a look at a clearly crazy dude who had delusions of channeling Elvis but was also a very talented tap/clog dancer. Beck used a clip from it in his 'Loser' video. Fascinating doc. When Roseanne and Tom Arnold were still together they saw the 'Dancing Outlaw' doc and brought Jesco out to LA to do a cameo on the Roseanne show (believe it ended up being cut though) which resulted in a followup documentary. I think it was Johnny Knoxville, in seeing these docs, who made this 'Wild Wonderful Whites' movie because the whole White family is pretty nuts. If you get a chance you should definitely check out the original Dancing Outlaw doc, it's hysterical. The more you know...Remember how they used to make documentaries about people that had accomplished something?Little bored at work so I streamed "The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia".An hour and a half of pure white trash. They're pretty (in)famous. May not be what everyone aspires to, but it's still an accomplishment.I know it didn't stay exactly "handheld", but I like the fact that they found different ways to use film footage such as news footage, cell phones, security cams, etc.Chronicle was ok mostly because the ending saved it. A pet peeve of mine is if you're going to do a hand-held style film you better make sure it stays that way throughout. This one fails in that respect. Some good effects although the flying was overdone. I thought the lead did a good job of transitioning from shy nerd to what he becomes. Short movie helped. 2.5/5
