Refrozen fish (1 Viewer)

Mors Venit

Footballguy
I bought some frozen vacuum sealed salmon a few months ago. On shopping day i forgot to put them in the freezer. Later i found them thawed to nearly room temp.

I refroze them and they are thawing again today.

Are they safe to eat?

Mmmm, want a plate full of poison? Fish have extremely high levels of chemicals such as arsenic, mercury, PCBs, DDT, dioxins, and lead in their flesh and fat. You may even get industrial-strength fire ######ant with that catch of the day. The chemical residue found in salmon flesh can be as much as 9 million times that of the water in which they live.

Do people actually eat the skin of fish? And the fat on the fish is delicious.

You do know the difference between skin and flesh, right?

Health wise it's fine as long as it stayed cold. Texture and taste will not be optimal, but WTF, it was frozen salmon when you got it, so you're obviously not worried about optimal taste and texture, anyway.

ETA: Actually never mind, I'm terrible at reading. I thought the part that said "flesh" said "skin". Just ignore me.
