That's hot.
That's hot.
I wondered about that (lack of) call, but don't really know enough to say whether it was properly called or not. What are the rules on that? Is it ok if it's within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage? It did appear that he set a basketball-like "pick".As a Bears fan I have completely dicounted that play anyway as it was clearly an illegal pick. The wide receiver clearly paused and leaned into the defensive player to shake Bush loose.
As a Texans fan, how about when he and Demeco Ryans drove the Giants back with back-to-back sacks then Mario knocked down the third down pass to make them go from 1st and goal to having to punt?MDSkinner said:As a Bears fan, I must say - when has Mario Williams ever had a chance to taunt?...IvanKaramazov said:Everybody was critical of Houston for taking Mario Williams over Bush, but now we know that they knew what they were doing. You don't see Mario taunting his opponents after making a big play, do you?

You can test your knowledge of NFL rules by taking a rules exam or reviewing a video replay on You Make The Call. 1) What is the difference between an illegal pick play and a legal pick play or crossing pattern? If a player makes contact against a defender more than 1 yard beyond the line of scrimmage and his contact frees a teammate to make a reception, this is an illegal pick and offensive pass interference. The only time a pick can be legal is if it occurs at or behind the line of scrimmage. In that case, there is no foul.I wondered about that (lack of) call, but don't really know enough to say whether it was properly called or not. What are the rules on that? That's good stuff. Can you look up "holding" and "illegal block in the back" too? This must be the first recorded instance of fans complaining about refereeing for a team that 1) won the game and 2) only had one penalty called against them and that was with 7 minutes remaining in the game. As I said before, we're not #####ing about the refs allowing the Bears receivers et al to hold like MF'ers. The refs clearly let the teams play and didn't call a lot of penalties (which clearly favors the Bear's style of play). If you're going to ##### about a pick play, then let's start calling the holding, etc.NFL.com's Rules School with Mike Pereira (Sept. 19, 2002) -- NFL senior director of officiating Mike Pereira will answer frequently asked questions about the NFL's rules and officials in Rules School -- a monthly Q&A with NFL.com. Oh I'm over it cause were going to the show baby! Just thought I'd point out the illegal pick. :XOver and Out............As a Bears fan I have completely dicounted that play anyway as it was clearly an illegal pick. The wide receiver clearly paused and leaned into the defensive player to shake Bush loose. It was an awesome play in which your D got smoked. No wonder you've discounted it. The Bears won, get over it!!
This is my view also. I wish he would not have did what he did, for it was classless. However, this seems to be the exception more than the norm with him. Besides that play, he has shown lots of class throughout the season playing for the Saints.I am glad he realized what he did and apologized for it, but that does not take away the fact that he did it. Hopefully, he will have learned his lesson and won't do it again. He is a young player that got caught up in the moment of a huge play in a huge game. To be honest, Bush seems like a good kid and doesn't appear to be a punk (at least from what I have seen). He still has a lot to learn but considering the play and the timing of that play and the game that he was in, it hardly seems headline-worthy to say that his adrenaline got the best of him for a moment.
What's this ....... a NFL Superstar admitting when he makes a mistake? T.O.'s gonna be pissedEverybody was critical of Houston for taking Mario Williams over Bush, but now we know that they knew what they were doing. You don't see Mario taunting his opponents after making a big play, do you?
