I received Reggie Bush as an add on in a trade several weeks ago. He has sat on my bench since I got him. At the time, I thought he might bust out and possibly be a strong player down the playoff stretch (for NO and FF). I'm sure many other owners did too. After watching him play this past weekend, I just don't see it. I don't think he is physical enough. Does anyone see his performance improving?

Williams?

Bush?

Jackson?

Edit - Nevermind, I saw the NO reference. Keep us posted.

Reggie Bush has 45 rushing attempts on the season...21 off the left side, 21 off the right side and only 3 up the middle...the Saints obviously want to get Bush to the outside to utilize his speed. Yet his yards per carry show that when he rushes to the left he averages 3.1 YPC, to the right it's 3.0, but up the middle he is averaging 4.7!Don't you think they would look at this and let him go a little more up the gut?
holy crap man. you need to get ahold of someone in the saints front office. this could mean the difference between making and missing the playoffs. how the fack could they not realize bush is killing it up the middle. i could see 1 carry. 2. but 3? that's a freakin pattern. listen, my sister has a friend, who went to highschool with a girl who knew a guy who went to college with a girl who used to babysit deuce mccalister. luckily they all have a myspace account, so i should be able to contact them all quickly. i will forward this thread, letting them know your in depth analysis of reggie bushes running tendencies. if im successful, we can expect bush to run it at least 35 times, for 161 yards, all up the middle sunday. you sir are a true saint. the musicians in the french quarter will be singing a song about the great hutchins929 and how he saved the 2006 season.

:lmao:

Not sure which week you took your stats from, but Reggie Bush has 70 rushes through week #08.

I do have an interesting stat though ...

40% of his carries result in 1 yard or less [including minus yardage carries].

More fun stats.According to the Football Outsiders, of the 49 RBs who have enough carries to qualify, not one of them has been worse on a per-play basis than Reggie Bush. If you prefer less advanced metrics, there's Success Rate, which measures how frequently an RB gets 45% of the necessary yardage on 1st down, 60% of the yardage on 2nd down, and 100% of the yardage on 3rd or 4th down- basically, it separates out all those RBs who get a ton of yards by running for 10 yards per carry on 3rd and 15 from those RBs who legitimately help move the chains. In terms of Success Rate, Reggie Bush's 35% isn't the worst in the league! It's actually ahead of LaMont Jordan's 32%, and Maurice Morris's 29%. If Bush manages a few more successful runs, maybe he'll almost be as good as Ron Dayne or Edgerrin James this season!

Come on guys, you're being silly. Everyone knows that there's approximately a 0.0002% chance of #1 overall draft picks busting, especially when they actually go #2 overall!

You mean guys like Ryan Leaf, Tony Mandarich, and Rick Mirer?

You got him as an add on, so what are you whinning about?
Good Lord guys, I'm not seeking feedback on my trade nor am I whinning. I thought my question was pretty simple. I was curious what other Bush owner's thoughts were for the rest of his 2006 season....better, same or waste of roster space? Is Reggie Bush a phenomenal college athelete who can't compete at the NFL level? Is he a running back or just a 3rd down & punt return specialist? What do you make of this guy?

Did you assume his real-life NFL ratings matched his Madden 07 ratings? He's a rookie. Cut him some slack. Many a fantasy team has tanked because of unrequited rookie-love.He's not the primary back. He's not the primary receiver. He DOES have potential for breaking a big play, so defenses can't ignore him.

Thanks! I somehow missed that in my search, sorry for the redundant post.

He hasn't yet figured out how to run forward. They give him tosses to the outside and he never cuts upfield. Quite frustrating as a Saints fan.
