I dunno, I think the loss of Bosa 'may' have an effect on Mel.

Last year the lowest productive day for Ingram was 1 solo.

First game he only had 1 assist for his lowest productive game since October 18, 2015 when he got shutout.

Without Bosa the OC can double him up so I'm watching to see how this effects his overall numbers but I'd guess his sack totals will take a hit but I'm not sure by how much.

He didn't have a typical game Sunday without Bosa, hence I think its reasonable to ask if this will effect him going forward or don't you think having Bosa on the backside taking on double teams helps Ingram?

I didn't watch the game.  I just stated a fact about 2015.

Anything more to this discussion? Specifically, why a 3-4 DE in a rotation is worth adding, rather than watching? His FF total was great but it was all from his 1 (very impressive) play that earned stats. The article makes him sound like a pass rush specialist... maybe great for big play leagues but not tackle leagues?

I'm always fishing for DEs but have a hard time seeing an add-worthy player here. Is he likely to see an increase in snaps? He's listed as their top DE on roto but only garnered 51%.... was he injured and eased back in? Any more info would be appreciated. :D

Within the limited pro-football-references database...

Darius Leonard passed Kwon Alexander (TB 2016) as the only player to record 19 total tackles and a sack. Kwon had 16.

Sean Lee (Dal) and David Hawthorne (Sea) had 18 and 16 tackles with an interception.

In my history of fantasy of playing IDP, the most prolific games have been...

  • Tim Krumrie with 21 tackles and 1 assist... as DEFENSIVE TACKLE!
  • Derrick Thomas with his 7 sacks. He also had a 6 sack game! 
And while we have many players at different years be at the 20 sack in a season mark...

  • Eugene Lockhart is the most season tackles ever seen scored in IDP with 210+/-  (they now say its 222) in 1989.

Colts: Rookie LBs Darius Leonard (100%) and Skai Moore(52%) led the LBs in snaps, and Anthony Walker was 46%.  The fact that Matthias Farley played 46% makes me think 3 safety sets are in the Colts plans.  Monitor Skai's usage closely, if he earns more snaps, could be a starter.  Or just wait till Geathers knocks himself out again, and Skai will probably jump up to 80% then.  Leonard to me, is a LB 3 at least.

in my 3 leagues i am in i have had him starting in one since last week.  I should have dropped Vince Williams for him in one league and Ogetree in the other.  Now it'll be a fight to get him.  Just couldnt waive those guys for some stupid reason.  bah

Steady Eddy.... it's funny b/c I had a really itchy finger this weekend and talked myself out of benching Williams in favor of Kyzir White in 2 leagues. It's tough to pull the more pedestrian guy that you know gets reliable points for the big upside. It goes the other way more often, I think. By keeping in Steady Eddy in one league, I didn't start Rashaan Evans. :D

 
Who the heck is Elijah freaking Lee? 

10 tackles a sack, FF and a few assists sprinkled in for good measure. I never heard of him and he drops this bomb.

Right? It hasn't been easy digging up any useful IDP info on SF. 

The big question is less about who he is, but where he goes now that Foster's suspension is up. Coyle was a disaster last week and Malcom Smith is still unable to play. The safe guess is that he got the nod over the rest of the roster fodder b/c Coyle stunk in week 1. Still, Warner @ 100% and Lee at 94% and the next LB was Mark Nzeocha at 21%

He's a guy that was pretty darn studly at K-State and I couldn't figure out why he fell so hard in the pre-draft (2017).  IIRC his 40 time wasn't super but he was very productive and got a ton of press his senior year.  All of a sudden poof.  I'm very bitter with myself because this is the kind of guy I usually hold onto way too long but noooooo, not this one, I moved on and now am going to have to pay up on waivers.  I had him on my pre-season taxi is 3 leagues too.

Roto depth chart is no help, listing Lee, Warner, and Foster all at MIKE.  I have Foster in a couple, so not too worried about that one, he's a heck of a handcuff if nothing else.

I've often wondered if they have a second depth chart behind their pay wall. Seattle's chart is wrong on the DLine... bad enough that it still has a guy they cut and then signed to their PS as the 3rd DE with a red "O" designating him as Out of Football when you mouse-over. 

 
So Atlanta LB breakdown, Campbell 100%/Riley 87%/Oluokun 22%, that’s it. Riley had a decent game, definitely holding, not sure about anyone else. Kazee started off good until he tried to decapitate Cam. Three tackles in less than a quarter I think, or maybe it was the second when he got ejected, I forgot.

Ourlads is just as bad. I use them as a starting place in the offseason... then totally shift to my own, the video, team websites and gamebooks.

I remember Joey Porter's 2002 game against Oakland in a big play league.

11 solo, 1 assisi, 3 sacks, 2 interceptions for 114 return yards.

And they lost

I thought Coyle was injured and put on IR or something similar. Lee looks like he'll get the nod until Foster returns.

PFR had both Allen and Kazee listed as S as starters. But in the snap count it had them both listed as SS. So, unless another site breaks it down better I think the verdict is still out.

I also peeked at Cleveland and Collins and Schobert played 100%. Ogunjobi played about 85%. 

I also wouldn’t judge anyone from the Rams game as Zona had like 45 offensive snaps and they were mostly offensive. That includes incompletions, so not a lot of tackle chances. 

 
Do we kick the tires on Benson Mayowa? 72% of snaps in week 1 then 78% in week 2 with a huge game. 5 first downs for ARI offense... so, so very bad and that really skews the opportunities for any IDP. Marcus Golden has been a "when he's finally ready" target as a decent DE with the benefit of Jones on the other side. Can the same be said for Mayowa? 6 solo, 1 ast, 4 TFL and 2 sacks is hard to ignore but also looks like a classic case of point chasing.

I was just thinking the same thing.   If you are going for season long value I don't think I chase because of Golden coming back soon.  If you want a couple week infusion then I might pull the trigger.

 
Couple of early disappointments from players on my squads: Avery Wiliamson, Vic Beasley, Hyder, Farley, and maybe Amos. Wiliamson had been a steady, reliable tackler but he's not doing much in the Bowles system. Beasley is MIA again. Hyder was a roll of the dice. Farley was a gamble and buried on my roster. Amos may not get the same production with the front 7 gashing the opposition and disrupting their playcalling.

Most of these guys are in danger of getting dropped in favor of trending players. Curious to hear what other standbys are looking like disappointments from the gang here...

Sean Lee for me. Left him on the bench this week just to see how he'd do, thinking of dropping him now. Leonard, Trevathan, Hicks, Alonso, and Jack are my LB's so I think he's expendable. I don't know though.

Not sure what is up with Lee.  When healthy, he’s been elite for years.  And he is “only” 32; lots of linebackers have performed well into their mid 30’s.  Noticed he only played 60% of snaps in week 2.  Seems like either he is nursing an injury or that age is starting to get the better of him.

Amos for me, as well. Desmond King is another... doesn't seem to be returning kicks this year and isn't the #2 CB despite yet another injury to Verrett. 

Farley is a drop... I added Geathers prior to week 1 and had both but dropped Farley in Wednesday's waiver run. I have Josh Jones, though, so 1 devy type S is all I can carry.

How do people feel about Antoine Bethea? Seems to be playing 100% of snaps so far and he's getting tackles. I don't know if he's playing well or anything like that though, maybe this is just a flash in the pan.

Kazee was playing deep though, and Allen way more in the box, in the Neal role.

Ogunjobi is great right now, what concerns me is that he is playing NT/1T and not the more productive 3T role. And he didn't have a big sack production in college. So that might cap his ceiling a little bit.

Would just not expect a sack each game, but for me he has been a great replacement for David Irving in some dynasty leagues.

To be fair, Geathers isn't the picture of health and the early chatter was how Farley was going to be used in 3-safety sets. Those sets were to address the deficiencies that have at LB. Darius Leonard's gaudy stats overshadow the quality of his actual play on his part, I think, but whatever. Saw something - Tom Kisinglingberytonwhatever , I think- on Twitter that showed the breakdown that would give me pause as a coach. As an IDP owner? Well.... 

Personally, I can afford to drop Farley because I have depth. I'd rather use the roster spot for for other plays.

 
Unhappily just dropped Brandon Marshall.  I don’t know what’s happened - it’s like the rest of the DEN D passed him by while he was standing still - but his production just isn’t warranting a spot.

I'm curious to see the NE snap counts. DE Clayborn didn't not seem to be on the field very often. Eyeball test will need to be confirmed by an actual snap count, but I suspect Keionta Davis saw more DE snaps than Clayborn, and perhaps Wise. As usual, though, owning any Patriot IDP aside from Flowers is probably pointless.

Interesting choice of words, because I've only seen snippets of Denver's play in the first two weeks, but one of the things that stood out to me is that it seemed like Marshall was standing there watching the play in front of him while others literally ran by him to jump into the action.  This is a guy that a few years ago was called "unblockable" in pre-season and he indeed had a monster season that year but he's seemed to dial it down a notch ever since.
