Just reported on Sirius XM...after the benching during the 4th quarter vs. GB, Titus Young's active status with the team is in doubt (at least for this week).Per Schwartz, he has been declared inactive for the Thanksgiving game vs. HOU, and has "been sent home".http://www.kffl.com/gnews.php?id=823879-lions-titus-young-to-be-inactive-in-week-12

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young will be inactive in Week 12. Young was sent home from the team's facility Monday, Nov. 19. Head coach Jim Schwartz said Young's action's in the team's Week 11 game were disappointing.

Coach Schwartz just announced that Titus Young will be inactive this week vs. Houston.

Schwartz says it’s a behavioral issue and how the team moves forward will depend on how Young responds.

Schwartz says it was Young putting self above the team. “It’s your job to make the team happy, it’s not the team’s job to make you happy.”

Actually, given the way the Texans (weren't) covering Marcedes Lewis, Pettigrew could get a nice bump in production in Thu's game.

Tony Scheffler had a whopping 10 targets yesterday and always seems to be the WR3 ahead of Broyles for some strange reason. Maybe that's why the Lions aren't very good at tackle football?

Was just listening to sports talk radio on the way home and rumors flying around that if Young doesn't shape up by the end of the year he will be cut or traded before the draft.

They'd be better off. Broyles is already a more polished WR and more than capable of better week-2-week stats.Thomas is fine as a 3.Titus will always be 'potential'. Too undisciplined on and off the field.

Another wasted high draft pick by Mayhew. Even when playing Young does not show anything more than very mediocre fill out the roster type of skills..not second round skills.
"another"? You act like he's Matt Millen. Mayhew and Schwartz have drafted exceptionally well from their first to last. Just because one ##### doesn't get it and has turned into a diva doesn't make picks like Willie Young, Sammie Lee Hill, and quite a few others great value. Leshoure has looked better every week, Fairly is turning into a monster next to Suh, and so on.

Da Guru always lumps Mayhew with Millen. He hired him, etc.Nice NYT profile on Mayhew (old article). I actually have a lot of respect for him - self-made man, walked on to Florida State (started across from Deon). Missed his rookie year and then won the CB job with the Redskins (started across from Darryl Green). Went to Georgetown law school at night while he was still playing.

He fleeced the Cowboys in his first move (RoY Williams trade) and he's been more than competent ever since.

BTW, fully support Coach Schwartz here, and it's pretty obvious from comments of the veterans the players do as well. TY Sr. just ran out of chances. Straighten up quick, or we'll go with Mike Thomas & Broyles and move forward.

What's this guys deal? Do we know what he did?
Can't remember where I read it (local paper?), but the situation was Young lined up on the wrong side of Scheffler on a play, and a number of players were yelling at him to move. He dismissed them, which led to a false start or illegal formation penalty. He also had another bad penalty that was referenced earlier that cost them field position.

what an idiot...he better wake up because he's not that good to have that kind of attitude. Looks like the team is fed up with him.

I just found an interesting piece on the Bleacher Report penned by Andrew Garda about Young and how the Lions lack of discipline has doomed their season.

Garda's take
I agree to a point, as they didn't take a tough stand with Suh last year (and the door is wide open now for plenty of replays and discussion of Suh's stomp during Thursday's game); Schwartz's jawing with Dez Bryant in last year's DET-DAL game and his handshake drama were questionable moments as a coach too. I don't think Young is just being made a scapegoat for a season going nowhere, as Burleson was filling that WR2 role fine until his injury and Stafford doesn't utilize all his options as much as he could, but if it doesn't go beyond him, it's definitely going to hold them back in this division.

You can change coaches, general managers, and everything else, but it comes down to the fact that this team has 50 + years of losing embedded in their tradition. Just like the Steelers with winning. It follows them around the Pigpen's dust cloud.

Interesting comparison; the Stillers had one playoff game (got shutout in 1947) from 1933-1971. 53 playoff games, 8 Super Bowls, and 6 Titles in the 40 seasons since.
