Ribcage Muscle - Calling All Amateur MD's (1 Viewer)

FBG's are as good as going to the doctor.

Anyone ever had a pulled ribcage muscle? I'm guessing this what I have (definitely not ball cancer). Messed it up at the gym, then golfing today felt like someone was standing on my chest when I was finishing my swing. Now it just hurts like a ##### during random movements.

Anyone dealt with this? How long did it last for?

I tore cartilage in the ribs.. worse than the 2 broken ribs I have had.

Never heard of anyone pulling the muscles.

I'm no doctor but assuming you have some stretched ribcage muscle, it's gonna be hurting when you breathe typically if it's the ribs. You said someone standing on your chest. We made need some better clarifications. Bruised ribs or in that area is one of the most painful IMO. Hurts to breathe which is like 24/7 and it's almost impossible to enjoy much sleep.

Hope you feel better.

I did something similar ...reaching for a fork. :bag:

Thanks, man.

Yeah it's hard to describe. Pretty much a mild constant pain behind the pec moving towards the armpit. Don't think it's that bad, but it was bad enough that I stopped playing the round. Doubt sleeping is going to be a problem but may medicate with some bourbon this evening.

Figure I'll give it a few days and hope it's better.

I did this in college back in my basketball days. Couldn't play for a couple games. It hurt to breathe, get out of bed, get in bed, pretty much to move in any way. You are going to be in some pain for a bit.

How long did this take to heal? I'm guessing/hoping it is some tweak like you sound like you had.

That's a stretched muscle, apply heat. I don't think it's the ribs, you would be in a lot more pain IMHO. Try a heat pad and don't sleep on that side if you can avoid it.

I would also try some light stretching in the morning before you jar it and make it worse or pinch it. Heat is good in the morning and before bed I would say.

Good luck

-Stretched the same area reaching for a seat belt once. Was sore for several days.

Don't think it's this bad :knock on wood:

Sounds like sleeping may not be so good.

You can try and pretend it's not ball cancer all you want, but it's ball cancer.
